Thank goodness and so do I.

I think the wholesale post referendum rejection of the 'auld' parties was wholly predictable. It can't have been easy for even a proud Unionist Scot, let alone a nationalist one to witness a vote for the continuance of the English financial comfort blanket. I don't see the current voting habits of Scots as a precursor to an inevitable vote for independence, more a preference borne out of bruised pride, that the SNP be the ones to spend and fight to protect the English subsidy.

SNP votes from 2007 are from 'bruised pride'. That's a new one on me.
The watery grins on the SNP benches when Cameron and then Osborne reminded everyone of the financial blackhole that would face Scots in the event of FFA or independence was telling.

Yes because every time Cameron opens his mouth, the SNP, and the whole of Scotland in fact, turn to each other murmuring 'Yes David you're soooo right'. Sure.. lol. They were too frightened to send David Cameron up to debate during the entire ref campaign in case he boosted the Yes vote up another few points each time. That is far more telling I think. And a measure of your own lack of understanding on how politics is these days in Scotland.

I'd give up tbh if I were you. David Cameron telling Scots voters anything is pretty much guaranteed to backfire big time. The Tories absolutely 100% know it too.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

I don't know why you bother replying when things start getting personal about you or your posting style. There's no need to reply to trolling like that on a personal level. And certainly no need to divulge deeply personal and private information about your mother's death in order to try and appease and justify yourself.

    These :-
It's not your accent though is it. It's a silly put on.

Have nothing whatsoever to do with the topic and everything whatsoever with someone trying to make themselves 'look important' and a 'big man with a big post count' to other posters here. Ignore, or should I say 'put them in the 'Get tae France' list and forget about them.

I run a large forum. These sorts of 'regular's get delusions of grandeur based on the number next to their name occasionally. Best humoured or ignored.:)

No. But the idea has now been normalised to the extent that for or against..

A MAJORITY of Scots believe their country will become independent within the next decade, according to a new poll. The survey, carried out by Ipsos Mori for STV, showed that 54 per cent think that independence will happen by 2025, with 44 per cent thinking it is unlikely and two per cent unsure.

It was revealed that those aged between 25 and 34 were the age group that is most confident that Scotland will break away from the UK in the next 10 years, with 61 per cent saying it was likely or very likely. Meanwhile, those aged 55 or older were split almost down the middle on the question.

Say what you like about Salmond. But it was almost solely due to him that independence has been taken, in just 4 short years, from a looney fantasy idea that was expected to be a 75/25 No vote.. to the point that half of Scotland think it's inevitable within a decade.

You might think ( in Oz ) that the ship has sailed for 30 years. The folk that live here aren't so convinced.

To make it completely clear, the 'idiots' comment was aimed squarely at Mr Salmond and Ms Sturgeon, not at any poster (s).

Love it. Independence has gone from a loony idea to the point where a poll says just over 50% think it might happen in the next decade. Let's just forget about what happened in September 2014 when Scotland was asked the question for real.

I'd expect people to be more likely to say they'd vote to leave rather than actually vote that way. The poll, I'm afraid, isn't anything to write home about.

I'm wondering if the 'mood music' is changing. Aren't people just moving on? Even Scottish demographics must be going against yes. The moment looks to have passed.
