I completely agree with this.0 -

I said the wholesale rejection of the old parties, which happened just a few months ago after the indyref which was a little over 12 months ago. Gaining all but a couple of Westminster seats was a seismic change not part of an incremental journey toward independence since 2007 you seem to be suggesting. The Scots are a proud people, it can't have been easy to have the world thinking you lacked the confidence to go it alone. What better way to make yourselves feel better and reinstate the Scots independence of spirit than reject Westminster in a nice safe non indyref vote. Link to the latest poll all you like, your as far away from an independent Scotland as you've ever been. I think deep down you know that.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

These :- Have nothing whatsoever to do with the topic and everything whatsoever with someone trying to make themselves 'look important' and a 'big man with a big post count' to other posters here. Ignore, or should I say 'put them in the 'Get tae France' list and forget about them.
I run a large forum. These sorts of 'regular's get delusions of grandeur based on the number next to their name occasionally. Best humoured or ignored.:)
I know I really should.stop ... and tbh think that one did go over the line ... will try again...might use my block button some more

Lest we forget, I'm not the one that brought dead mothers into the conversation. I merely expressed incredulity that someone could possibly compare a parent's death with an electoral loss.
Maybe gaining a sense of perspective might help. It's not like the Scottish are repressed in any way at all. They can play the bagpipes, if they must, can wave the Saltire, are subsidised by Londoners to learn a language that died 100 years ago (if it ever lived), can agitate for independence and generally enjoy all of the freedoms enjoyed by people across Britain (unless those freedoms are restricted by the Scottish Parliament). The SNP is at once fuelling and thriving from a simmering resentment that things should somehow be better.0 -
The whole £1m payout from the UK governemnt for Gaelic got cancelled ... so Tis only the Scots that are paying for that now
What is so wrong with wanting better ? Shouldn't we all want better ?0 -

better is good and so it fairer and more equal
sadly, it seems that no SNP person is able to explain what these things mean, except for a passing reference to more spending (by the English of course).0 -

It's extremely hard to see what would be better for an independent Scotland. Maybe in 1979, not that it was on offer, as the oil was still there but now the oil is in serious decline at almost any price and it's highly unlikely that most of the oil that is left in Scotland now will ever see the light of day due to climate change.
An independent Scotland would be slashing welfare health and education spending as spending would have to be collapsed just about immediately causing a terrible recession that would likely take decades to unwind. And all for what? A self-serving elite sitting in Holyrood rather than Westminster.
As we have seen from the SNP's period in power in Scotland the SNP has members who are venal and corrupt, has policies that haven't been thought through and those that are just plain wrong. There's nothing unique in that, I don't try to claim that the Tories have a special magic that keeps their fingers out of the till. What I do recognise is that the United Kingdom is a country that has brought together disparate nations over 1500 years and united them into a highly successful country. I find it terribly sad that a group simply want to walk away from that despite the obvious loss it will cause them.
I find it incredible frankly.0 -

the clue is in the word ... as in Indian Nation0 -
Tell ya what ... you give me all your money and I will run your life ... will give you some pocket money to buy something but everything else I will decide ...
Then we will see if you think there can be better0 -

Yes because every time Cameron opens his mouth, the SNP, and the whole of Scotland in fact, turn to each other murmuring 'Yes David you're soooo right'. Sure.. lol. They were too frightened to send David Cameron up to debate during the entire ref campaign in case he boosted the Yes vote up another few points each time. That is far more telling I think. And a measure of your own lack of understanding on how politics is these days in Scotland.
I'd give up tbh if I were you. David Cameron telling Scots voters anything is pretty much guaranteed to backfire big time. The Tories absolutely 100% know it too.
Cameron said 'Vote No'
Salmond said 'Vote Yes'
Scots voted No.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0
