Reversing the Labour --> SNP voter exodus which has happened over the last few years in Scotland ? Some of whom are far more attracted by the social democratic/competent government side of the SNP, rather than independence.

However, he'll have to do the same with Labour voters to other parties over the next few years in England too.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

I was asked what "would" be bad for the SNP in my opinion. I didn't post what I think will happen.

Can you think of anything bad for the SNP you also think has a realistic chance of happening?

I think it would be bad for the SNP not to put referendum wording into their manifesto. If circumstances change then it would be wrong to leave that option out

In my opinion the referendum wont be until after the UK 2020 general election- if the tories win then a Yes vote will be a shoe in.
    baldly going on...

    Jam tomorrow.

Well there's nothing like a Neverendum to get to Neverneverland.

The trick, of course will be finding the weasel wording that will provide an excuse for a referendum while not frightening off those who would not vote for the SNP if there were a firm commitment.

It's already happened. Corbyn. And how it affects the Holyrood elections next year.

re Westminster. If the SNP keep repeating and show willing in working with him where they share common ground.. ( as Nicola Sturgeon kept offering to Milliband during the last election campaign ).. Then as far as Westminster is concerned, Scots voters will have little to lose by voting SNP once again.

But five years is too far into the future to predict. And Corbyn so far, has had very little to say on any Scottish issues/politics so far. Let's hope he's got something to offer that'll have us all sitting up and taking notice.

There will only be one more. Don't worry. ;)

Not particularly pro EU though. At odds with the SNP view.

Yes. But it's Holyrood 2016 that's next on the electoral agenda. Corbyn's said that he or someone 'high profile' will be up 'once a month' to Scotland until the election. Let's hope he has something to say.

Imo if he's up in Scotland simply saying 'vote for Labour in 2016, because in four years time Labour might be in government, then we might get rid of Trident, get rid of the bedroom tax, stop benefit sanctions' <--- things along those lines that the SNP also support. He'll go down like a lead balloon. ( same old, same old ).

On the other hand. If he shows willing at least to start debating meaningful further powers Scotland's way.. ( the cross party Devolution Committee yesterday and Gordon Brown last week slated what's been offered so far compared with the Smith Commission )...We'll sit up and listen. :)
The English left is now discovering what it feels like to be a supporter of Scottish independence. The UK media asylum is roaring....

... And that brings us to the bottom line – we don’t need the Corbyn movement. We can continue on the road to achieving our goals without it. We can continue to strive for social democracy in an independent Scotland...We don’t need Corbynism, it needs us. We don’t need Jezza’s support, he needs ours. Ours is not the movement which is reeling in an attempt to recover from an unexpected defeat. Ours is not the movement that fears it may never achieve its goals. That would be the Labour party. It’s the Labour party who are the supplicants here, not the Scottish independence movement...

...They can start by getting serious about home rule.

Bang on, Paul Kavanagh. We'll have to wait and see what Mr Corbyn is going to say as far as Scotland is concerned.

Same old SNP stuff as well.

I've no doubt that Corbyn or his successor will have something improbable to say and enough to entice your Sheeple (SNP word, not mine) away from the SNP's improbabilities .

In the meantime I await the weasel words about the Neverendum (The same old to end all same olds )
