  • People seem to forget the referendum carried out by Strathclyde Regional Council where people voted 97% against the Tories privatising the water in 1994

There is nothing to stop a referendum, but people can choose to ignore one if they decide

I will be surprised if there isnt a mention of a referendum in the next manifesto, although I would expect it to be caviated with things like
'vow not being delivered / EU' vote etc.
    baldly going on...
  • It's working rather better than Scottish Labour/Conservatives and Lib Dems saying there won't be one though. Your post is wishful thinking from start to finish.

Well you just keep thinking that if it makes you feel better. Lol.

Based on the success rate of your previous sweeping predictions of the future, not much to get concerned about.

They have the same access as anyone else. And there's been a HUGE drive to register 16-17 year olds too on social media.

They do have the same access as anyone else: none in effect when it would come to calling an election that would stand up to a legal challenge.

You can't call a referendum based on aged lists scrawled down from the libraries of Scotland. :p

I just wonder when the next window will appear.

The focus in UK politics as a whole may shift towards Europe now.

Success or failure in Europe is likely to have far greater impact on the UK economy than the issue of Scottish independence.

No, that was George Osborne. There's been loads of discussion over currency since for if there's a next time.

No, it was definitely you. See bold below :)

They never reached any agreement on a so called currency union. Unknown #1.

It's known now. There won't be one.

...an unexpected momentary relapse into normality perhaps? ;)

More likely the Middle East. ISIS continues to develop as a state. This may influence world events for the next 20 years. History appears to be repeating itself.
  • SNP must be bricking it now Corbyn is Labour leader.

Probably too late for the upcoming Holyrood elections but the next GE will be interesting in Scotland. ;)

Sturgeon interviewed earlier. She looked completely deflated. Corbyn said in his inaugural speech that he's coming for her.

Best thing she can do now is defect. No one would blame her.
