Salmond and Sturgeon Want the English Fish for More Fat Subsidies

Sadly I dont know how on earth I would get a hold of the text for the speech, but I totally agree it would be interesting to read, many times I have had issues with what people have said ( Nicola Sturgeon being the main instigator) I fully agree with you in the sense that the SNP ( and probably all political parties tbh) have this awfy bad habit of saying something whilst trying to mislead people...
I know Nicola was very careful in the way she worded her speech and I pointed it out to several people I was attending with, every single one of them heard something different from me so we watched it back and discovered that I was correct and their understanding was not what was actually said ... IN that sense then yes I would agree that the meaning that was taken by the people could have been different from what was said ...
Maybe I am just one of these people that really like to listen to not only what exactly is said but also what isnt being said...
I do know when I heard Alex Salmond he always stated it wouldnt be easy but that in time Scotland could be a very prosperous country and no 14 in the world but that it wouldnt be an easy path to get there ...0 -

That's just political fluff. Anyone can say those words. It means NOTHING.
I see nothing different in SNP visions, apart from the state taking more control ; using the anti-austerity banner to spend more of peoples money.0 -
Nationalism in Scotland is finished. Scotland has a part of a bigger future.
First Corbyn as Labour leader, then towards a genuine UK Labour government at the next GE.0 -

I can kindve agree with what you are saying ... the continual rise of the SNP bothers me tbh ... one of the many reasons why I want independence is so that we can finally get the country we want rather than keeping voting for the SNP so we can get independence ...
Many new SNP members are members till independence, many see the SNP as a means to an end .. I am concerned that if independence doesnt happen soonish then the SNP will get stronger and stronger and become the Labour of old
I and many others dont want this0 -
There is another dynamic.
Independence is not the only way to regional autonomy.
What if the additional powers given to Manchester councils starts to show through improved services at lower cost?
What if the unified budget of NHS and social funding in the area shows that local councils can work with local NHS more efficiently?
There would be calls for other regional cities to be allowed to follow this lead.
What if Aberdeen were one such area? Does this undermine independence?
I'm a fan of progressive local autonomy, specifically where something is trialled in one region and if successful extended elsewhere. This is almost completely opposite to the introduction of Police Scotland though.0 -
Good job I dont care what you say or think then isnt it ? ... Good job your opinion of me makes not one iota of a difference in my life ... You choose not to accept what I say ... thats your right and choice ... I told you the truth accept it or dont your choice at the end of the day
oh but P.S I didnt vote against them ... I stated I didnt vote for them ...
You also claim not to support the SNP which is clearly bunkum.
For someone who doesn't care what I think you are very keen to set me straight.0 -

I think the whole focus on the SNP has stifled debate on how we achieve more local autonomy for different regions.
(That is, if people genuinely agree that local control can provide economic benefits...they may not)0 -

Interestingly, in Aus we are moving away from localism as it is seen to be inefficient and breeding cronyism and corruption.
The states and territories are seen by many as being a pointless additional layer of Government, spending money we haven't got on things we neither want nor need.0
