More of the same really, posting speculation as fact.
As for a second referendum? That ship has sailed.0 -

yes indeed, do the ends justify the means?
are lack of diverse views as good thing?
plenty of precedents for nationalistic socialistic parties finding diverse views unwelcome
Welcome to the new Scotland!0 -
Not really, it's the SNP that have been talking about a referendum since before the GE and since e.g. Sturgeon stating that a leave vote in the EU Referendum would be grounds for one in Scotland. It's merely a continuation of transparent attempts to fabricate a good enough winge.
Yes, it's working too. 55% for independence 45% against ( undecided's excluded ) last poll yesterday. In four years before the indyref, just three full-sample polls found a Yes lead (1%, 1% and 2%): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_Scottish_independence_referendum,_2014 …

But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Well that's odd. Because I could've sworn a few pages back you posted an article from the FT re the SNP and were all over it like a rash as absolute 150% no joshing proof that the SNP were doing a bit crap in government. But when it's the Conservatives suddenly it's 'speculation' ? Make your mind up. Because you're making me laugh, and feel a bit sorry for all the flailing about you're doing trying to make your own facts fit the stories. As for a second referendum? That ship has sailed. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

I thought Nicola was going to take it slow and steady? Well at least until there was a favourable poll, the oil price recovered to $100 or the wind changed.0 -

Meanwhile, elsewhere in devolution land ...
Warrington plans for additional devolution powers :

The push for more devolved powers is only going to increase. This might be a good thing or not, it will come down to implementation.
Could such an initiative reduce the clamour for full blown independence?0 -

Warrington is in Scotland. You know people are only joking when they say they wish they could vote SNP right?0 -

I nearly got run over by one of those 'trends' coming my way the other day.
I barely had a couple of weeks to get out of the way.
You are right. The focus will move to mainland Europe over the next few years. Scotland Indy ref #2 will fall down the news agenda. We have bigger problems needing attention.0
