Interesting that Nationalists on here have been pretty quiet about the fraud/incompetence that has led to the EU not paying out substantial sums to Scotland. Has it been the same round your way HAMISH?
Funnily enough, they all seem to be desperately hoping nobody will notice, the silence is deafening....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

What on here ? Or in general ? I was on babysitting duties the last few days. Lovely weather too.Opposition politicians rounded on the Scottish Government....A Scottish Government spokesman said: “It is important to stress that no money will be lost to Scotland as a result of this process.
“Current interruptions to programme payments were prompted by some public bodies failing to comply with their audit obligations, clearly this is unacceptable and is being addressed.
“Approvals for new programme payments are imminent but await final clearance by auditors. We are keen to ensure all processes fulfil EU regulations before we issue any approvals.
“Interruptions with European programme funding due to technical issues is not uncommon – about half of around the 400 programmes across the EU are interrupted or suspended at any one time.”
To be honest this story hasn't gained much traction anywhere. Possibly because one has to read further than the frothing headlines and Jackie Baillie doing her usual screeching 'SNP bad routine'. I'm guessing that's why things are 'quiet' on this. Sounds like interruptions to payments are commonplace. No-one is going to lose out. What's the problem ?It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

You are completely brain washed, aren't you? Just what would it take for you to open your eyes and see the SNP for what they are rather than through the lens of cultish adoration for all things Nicola and John? Whether the story "hasn't gained much traction anywhere" or not is irrelevant. Of course they'll be doing their utmost to bury it - who wouldn't if you've been accused of irregularities such that the EU has suspended social project funding to the tune of £46 million?MumOf4Quit Date: 20th November 2009, 7pm

Oh Hi, nice to see you dipping your toe back in the water with the trolling and brainwashed nat lines. They bored me to tears the first time round, am not going to bother again. Thanks all the same. Best off to quoting/responding to Hamish or Generali etc etc, and mabye actually reading the article in question next time. If there was a huge groundbreaking story to be had here re SNP 'fraud'.. It would have been plastered all over the Scottish headlines for days already. Scottish Labour haven't even bothered much with this one yet, and there's NO WAY they'd keep quiet.“Interruptions with European programme funding due to technical issues is not uncommon – about half of around the 400 programmes across the EU are interrupted or suspended at any one time.”It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

indeed yes
I think the whole issue is overblown
the facts are, except for the wish to pass the economic management of Scotland, from the hatred (albeit very generous English) to the (money grabbing ) Europeans, the SNP is just like any other political party : part good , part bad but always trying to cover up mistakes and rubbishing any opposition.0 -
