As usual, you try deflection unless, perish the thought, you are just peddling the SNP line invented to misleads Scots. Or maybe it's just simple minded blather.
Shakey - It's about Scotland not being the EU because it's not a country, not whether individuals are. How difficult is that to understand?
In your Natland, those Scots who were British would, by virtue of that retain EU citizenship but that would not apply to children born in an independent Natland, all that dependent on any UK largess which remained after the SNP had totally pi**ed off the rUK.
But Natland not, that has always been answered by the EU executive.
I asked you a very direct question. Scottish citizens are EU citizens and what mechanism would be used to strip 5 million of that citizenship if Scotland were to vote for independence. You didn't answer me.
Please don't accuse me of deflection, when you yourself can't answer a direct question put to you. And we both know that the reason you can't answer it, is because you don't know.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

To be fair, even if it was 59 Labour MP's down there all guns blazing for FFA and more powers... they'd have been voted down too. It's a numbers game and there's no getting around the way Westminster works. If anything, it's proving the SNP's whole point beyond all doubt about how much Scotland 'gains' politically from being a part of Westminster ( not much lol ).It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
I was under the impression Mdme Sturgeon made it quite clear her MPs would vote on any issues including those clearly devolved to Holyrood, if there was any knock on effect on Scotland. Eg budgetary. This is just more hypocritical spin from SNP.
She said there were very few issues where votes related to England only and when asked to give an example of one of them on QT, her reply was fox hunting. Gave her party a couple of difficult days when it looked possible for the fox hunting ban being repealed reared it's head. Mind you I'm glad it wasn't.
Neither did she hold back from advising English voters to vote for Green or Plaid leading up to the election. In order to give her SNP MPs more power with her new phrased common cause parties.0 -
Oh I know Shake, it would if anything be much worse if it were 59 labour MP's ... Look at Murry for example lol0

She's quite correct. Labour did a report on it. I linked to it somewhere here a few times, showing that there had been about 10 truly English only laws that didn't affect the other 3 devolved countries passed in the last 10 years.
But as long as you're happy that government representatives are going to pass laws that will affect Scottish finances re Health, Education and other budgets. All without having a say via your own MP, nor them having a say either. And are looking forward to the fact that no Scottish MP of whatever political party will ever reach high office in Westminster ever again... Then who am I to argue with someone who's so blinded by SNP success and their resentment of it.. that common sense seems to have been dispatched somewhere along the way. I can only assume that you don't need to take advantage of the Scottish Education system, or the NHS, and thus are quite happy for other MP's who don't represent you, to be voting on issues that affect their budgets. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

What a disaster. He looks well out oh his depth. I almost feel sorry for him when Hosie stands up after he's droned his way through his pre-prepared script lol.
Anyway, I'm off on hols for the next two weeks hoping Sturgeon has gotten fed up and has declared UDI by the time I get back..( for those who prefer to rant at me.. the above was a joke ).
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Boo hoo hoo I didn't get what I want.
The UK voted for and put in power the government who wants to have a bedroom tax, thus the bedroom tax exists. Why should a minority party have a special say?Left is never right but I always am.0 -

Because SNP.
The entire argument is nonsense from beginning to end.
Which one ? The one where the one Tory MP gets to decide what policies a devolved Scottish government should have, or the one Labour MP ? Or the one Lib Dem who's facing a court appearance over blatant lies...
Scottish votes for Scottish only laws. It's the way the Tories should want it.;) After all, they can't rush English votes for English laws through fast enough. Why shouldn't only Scottish MP's vote for Scottish only laws going through to a Scottish devolved parliament ? Is not nonsense. It's just fair and it's what both sides of the border seem to want after all for their MP's in future, whatever their political persuasion is.
*I really should be in bed, but underestimated how long it takes to burn cd's for long car journey's. God forbid we get stuck with Hanson and Alisha's Attic on loop again from Scotland to Brittany.* shudders * Au revoir...It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0
