I don't think there are millions of them any more, a lot of unionists are unhappy just now ... Not all obviously, but people!e I have previously spoke to that were staunch dyed in the wook unionists were not happy last time we spoke ....
Thats what you need to be aware of, yes some unionists are happy and would happily see the end if HR but some people I have spoken to that I never would've ever believed would ever be anti union are now disgusted with the way things are happening and believe they have been lied to
Of course they 'believe' they've been lied to. The SNP propaganda machine has been working overtime, upping the stakes and cynically manipulating a situation whereby they can claim the Scottish people have been betrayed. They can then demand another referendum. Maybe they're just waiting for the oil price to increase before they do.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -
Actually there are loads of people that sit and watch HoC ... Yep the viewing figures in Scotland must be much higher, so the people watched the debate, noted what was said and by whom, noted how many were there ( and there were not always 56 SNP MP's either) and watched as the bars emptied and the rest came in and voted without even being involved in the debate
So hell yeah they are angry0 -
People watched English MP's voting on Scottish issues, and yet they are being told Scottish MP's can't vote on English issues .... They are not happy
The people have had the manifesto they voted in destroyed, the people watched as their chosen representatives were essentially destroyed, many people are feeling this on a personal level
Twitter is going nuts about it0 -

Indeed.
You have to hand it to the SNP, their propaganda is very effective. If I don't reply to your post,

Not as effective as the Tory's though, they take lies and propaganda to a whole new level .... And some people here fell for it0

It's not just a Scottish issue though is it?
Devolving power from the UK to Scotland is a matter for all MP's. The SNP manifesto was always going to be trumped by the wishes of the UK wide electorate, in what sort of parallel universe did you think it wouldn't be?“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
That then indicates that ( as I've said previously) there is no real reason for evel either ( unless it's badger culling etc)
Oh I didn't believe it for a second, many did though and they ain't happy just now, Mudell says he won't vote for anything that will damage Scotland and yet he voted against Scotland having the power to do away with the bedroom tax cause obviosuly doing away with that would damage us, our single Tory has more power than the 56 SNP MP's .. A lot of unhappy people0 -

David Mundel was saying today the vow has been delivered and we need o continue pooling and sharing, yes I know that's a crook of crap, however, many people still believe the MSM an will believe it has been, I know 56 is no match for the rest of the UK so tell me shake what good are they really? They can't deliver any real change for Scotland, I know they want to, I know they are better than the alternative but last night Scotland lost and we better get used to it, cause it's just gonna get worse and quite frankly hell slap it Into us as it's what the majority want
I think it's just a process elantan. The failed Scottish Assembly in 1979 (and the 40% shenanigans).. lead eventually to an overwhelming majority for a Scottish parliament in 1997, which eventually lead to an SNP government in power in Holyrood 2007, by the skin of their teeth, then to an SNP government in power by a landslide there in 2011.... leading to an independence referendum which was lost, but by much less than was predicted in 2014. Leading to 56 SNP MP's in Westminster... leading to....
Every single part in the process above has been in reaction to Scots voters wanting and voting for far more powers than previously. I can't see any of that ever going backwards again. In fact it seems to me like it's accelerating. But it's a bit like a tide going out and in re the public mood imo.
However, it's all part of the journey I suppose. A bit of patience is needed now. The Tories will do the rest. With possibly Labour helping along the way.. But I seriously doubt that this is the 'end' point. Far from it I think. English MP's voting down amendments to the Scotland bill that 95% of Scottish MP's were elected on, at the same time as introducing EVEL is never going to play well. Because if that were the case, no English MP should have been able to vote on the Scotland bill or sit on the Scottish Affairs Select Committee ( English MP's outnumber Scottish ones for the first time ).
But lets face it. Anyone who voted Yes knew this was going to happen anyway. The SNP have to be careful not to get pushed into another referendum before they can be reasonably sure of winning one. So they need to keep their powder dry. And if there's one thing ANYONE who want's independence can understand at it's very basic level.. it's that there's no point calling for a referendum that's going to be lost again.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0
