online shopping/ebay addiction

  • Glad to hear you are using freecycle! The danger of ebay is that you tend to spend every penny you earn. I bet there are few "normal" people(not traders) who actually transfer the paypal balance to their bank accounts! I stay off there but my dd is rather hooked.I ask myself one question: Do I "need" it? We always want things-its human nature and the society we live in makes it tenfold. Since being on here and starting a freecycle group my ways have changed. My "want" feelings has gone! I can window shop-I can admire-but i feel no absolute desire to have the items any more. Half of these things are purely fashion and a couple of years time they will no longer be the "in" thing. When I do buy new Ive always bought "classic" rather than modern-a far better investment and I just add a few cheap moden touches in the way of householdd bits and bobs. Trendsetting is fine-if you have the money. If you have-good luck! Cos it helps others when you get fedup and pass on your unwanted items on Freecycle. Some things are an investment-I just bought a new leather suite-never had leather before. Its more modern t han traditional but being black it goes with anything, and in 10 years time it will still look great with whatever decor or trimmings we have. I try to spend wisely and leave my cards at home when I am window shopping!
