Be nice to yourself.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Wooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooo!! A noebayday. Well done!
1st of many. Of course.
Make a list of things you want to achive/do. Big or small. Serious, or fun. Break the bigger ones down if needs be, until you have a list of easyish tasks. Then go, get em!0 -
And don't foget to smile. Or laugh. You can't do both enough!!

Damn, I'm going to have to sell my ebay shares now... Sigh.0

well i had the first half decent night sleep in ages last night.
pretty chuffed I never bought anything yesterday! but I did sell some stuff and got more than expected so thats a bonus and a far bigger thrill than buying!
I'm feeling a little more positive today, I'm trying to get stuff done- stuff I should've done a long time ago :S
I'm getting things ready for leaving, it's both exciting and nerve racking. Only 2 weeks to go....Getting my hair done this week. I know its expensive but it's one thing I think I deserve! I feel like when I move it's a chance to be whoever I want to be....you know what I mean?0 -
Hi milly, hope you'll be looking gorgeously glam when you have your hair done. Glad you've had some rest. Worrying does no one any good but we all have our sleepless nights. Keep on selling. Hopefully you're maintaining your no-spend-on-ebay status for today too.
Yes, it's good to start afresh, but don't expect too much of yourself. You don't need to impress anyone. Just be the person you'd like to be and then you'll find that you are that person.
Hope you've kept yourself out of mischief. I'll pop by later to wish you another goodnight xxx:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Hi,
I'm obsessed with ebay too - but only because it has made me so much money! I have sold loads of stuff on there and if you too are selling and making some money thats not such a bad thing. I sold over £400 worth of stuff there last month and that went straight into buying stuff for my new house.
What i'd recommend is:
For selling: Make sure that you try and get paypal only payments and keep all the money in that account. List all the stuff you say you buy but would never wear, no point in wasting it, there is money to be had!
Then buying: Definitely get yourself registered on auctionsniper.com, its an automated way to bid at the last minute, some call it cheating but as a regular seller i know that its a fact of life with buyers now, since using it myself i am definitely getting items a lot cheaper. And only buy stuff with your Paypal balance so technically you are "swapping" items as rather than buying it with money from your wages.
Thats the practical ebay stuff... regarding the other points you've made, if you are obsessed to the point that you cannot take your mind off checking, sounds like you have a minor form of obsessive compulsive disorder which is brought on by anxiety. ***I'M NO DOCTOR so am not suggesting this is definitely the case**** but as someone who has suffered from OCD in the past (along with 1 in 8 other people) i dont see it as something to be ashamed of at all, many people have different ways OCD presents itself such as tapping, hand washing, putting things in a line.... if you have it then checking is your OCD trait.
Have a chat with your GP if it is taking over your life and let him or her decide, but from a practical point of view if you are obsessed with saving - dont change that!! Just look at measures to curb the spending side of things and be honest with yourself about the reasons you do it.
I never missed a payment :T , I paid off all my credit cards :T , I paid of all my loans :T , i have a work mobile :T - but am now "medium" credit risk

Thats good. How'd you get on?
Nice day for it. Whatever it is. lol0 -
I wont lie I did buy something.......
but it was only small I swear! I don't know why I did but I did and it was only £3!
Thanks alant1000 for all your advice, I will take it on board!!! Also, about the OCD, I think it is quite possible. As I child I used to wash my hands about 100 times a day and they were red raw. My sister also has OCD, she's constantly switching things off, and she checks and rechecks and rechecks everything!
Today was pretty good. I managed to get some more boxes packed for leaving and some other stuff sorted. Also planned to go away with my sister for the weekend, will be good to have some time out. Nothing expensive (!) just staying with some friends, so I'm looking forward to that.0
