Sorry but that is hilarious, going to have a look

I loved the bit where the claimant started doing an impression of her horse asking where its dinner was.

The second case with the brother was interesting. I didn't quite see how it was clear a joint tenancy had been intended when 1 brother was the tenant and the other the guarantor.

    Carbon Monoxide has no smell

I think the smell was the 'fursty' smell mentioned by the tenant.

The fact they survived CO poisoning was a total coincidence! :rotfl:

Really? I didn't think they did. I thought the money just came out of ITV's pocket and that was that.

Completely pointless exercise appearing on the show then, as a lot of the people on there clearly don't have the cash to pay out.

My understanding is, to avoid court and therefore a Ccj, itv issue a type of loan.

Wow. Didn't realise that ITV were now in the loans business!

Watched the LL/tenant bit this morning. Didn't really believe either of them! Also found it interesting that he only awarded the rent until the date of issue of the first S21.

How it works is like this:

    Plaintiff wins £1000.00
This is paid by the show.
    Defendant owes the show £1000.00

I don't think that is the case. In the case of Judge Judy, it works like this:

    Plaintiff wins $1000.
    Defendant loses counter-suit.
    Producers pay the Plaintiff $1000.

I don't know about expenses and apperance fees. It would seem from what people have said that Rinder doesn't pay appearance fees, but it is still perfectly possible that they pay the award and expenses.

I watch Judge Judy religiously(it's a family thing), and I simply do not believe you without evidence.

Why would Judge Judy slap a defendant with a huge "pain and suffering" payment when she clearly gets annoyed with their behaviour, if it comes out of the pocket of her employer?

Why do the defendants care(they clearly do) if they lose or not?
Why do friends not make up cases and get awarded $5000.00 and split it?
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

I watch it too and notice either at the start credits or the end it says the producers make the payment (i too thought this would then be loaned to the losing party, but no evidence of this part)

People saying they've been on the show and the producers pay out.

There are loads of other corroborating reports online. Can't find a single person saying they had to pay the producers back.

The money the production company pay out will be peanuts compared to the advertising revenue the show generates.

The show researchers will ensure that only people who can act up get on.

The disclaimer at the end of Judge Judy say something like 'the awards are paid out of a fund maintained by the producer'.

I think the defendants care because they are not going to get any money - or perhaps even some of their appearance fee taken away, I'm not sure.

Nothing provided shows anything different to what I have said.
