Thanks Pastures for the concise post of the events, currently in work and watching with headphones in.
I am suprised at the award, also I got the impression that the LL didnt protect the deposit as holding the deposit in cash.
I think if this went to CC it would have been a totally different outcome
Do admit though thought her reasons for staying were strange also
I agree Keyser (any relation to my mercurial Uncle, Brian Sosze...? He used to mention an odd cousin he could never trace called "Keyser"... possibly...) :shhh:
I liked PasturesNew's clear and concise summary/appraisal of the cases shown. Wouldn't mind reading more in this vein from PN... :T0 -
Wow, the case with the woman trying to sue her landlady.
The tenant was AWFUL. Fake crying, fake angst, pulling ugly faces, sneering, and chuntering under her breath, using her kids as leverage, and dragging them into the argument at every available opportunity. She was a classic martyr, she acted the victim, and I thought she was pathetic.
She stayed a year and a half in this freezing, rank, foisty, death trap with carbon monoxide seeping out, when her tenancy agreement was for 6 months?! :rotfl: Even Rinder said 'why did you stay?' 'So nobody else had to go through what me and my family went through!' she cried. Even Rinder could see what a crock it was that she was coming out with, and awarded her NOTHING.
Seems to me that she was just in it to live in a house for free, and not pay her gas bill. What confuses me, is she has a three grand gas bill, and yet she claims the house was freezing most of the time because the boiler didn't work! How come the gas bill is so high then?! If she didn't use it. Silly mare.
Didn't believe a word she was saying.
I felt sorry for the landlady. But at least she got her out in the end!Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!

High camp TV, but strangely fascinating.
I have only seen one where a disabled person bought a mobility scooter which didn't have the range of 25 miles that was promised. It turned out that her 30 stone had something to do with this.Je suis sabot...0 -

Some friends and I were trying to think of 'claims' we could make against each other as ITV pay the "award" money....
I hate myself for wasting my time but I have to watch it too. The mobility scooter woman was just awful.0 -

Completely pointless exercise appearing on the show then, as a lot of the people on there clearly don't have the cash to pay out.
How it works is like this:
Plaintiff wins £1000.00
This is paid by the show.
Defendant owes the show £1000.00Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
