mop floor - job for after kids are in bed

[STRIKE] go to butcher [/STRIKE] chicken, bacon chops or beef olives for my dinner tonight?

the car will wait till tomorrow now and the floor will get moped when kids are in bed.

  • Hello again everyone,

    Here's my progress for today:

    Level One
    [strike]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
    [/strike]

    Level Two
    [strike]Clean floors [/strike]
[strike]Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
    [/strike]

[strike]Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
[/strike] Yeah loads of yummy left-overs from parental visitors!

Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary) Did last night after a red-wine incident!
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
    Extra Mission:
    Choose one or more of:
    • Clean inside of fridge
    • Clean outside of small appliances, even if it's only one you get done
    • [strike]Clean OVEN yes I know you all hate that one wonder how many choose it[/strike] I've decided I'm going to do ten minutes on the oven every day for the next three days - because it is in serious need of remedial treatment!
    • Sort any one kitchen/dining room storage area, drawer, cupboard or a shelf
My plans for the rest of the evening involve a long bath, a glass of red wine, Harry Potter and an early night!

And the big question is - shall I join in the August Grocery challenge. I'm not sure if I've got the energy!

    Have a good evening all,
    7WW

    Hiya
    This is how i've done so far;

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
    Level Two
    Clean floors
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky

I'll also clean the fridge out.

I've also made icecream and chocolate with the children with presents they got for christmas. The icecream maker was ok and the chocolate maker was rubbish! I ended up melting the chocolate in the microwave and pouring it into the molds. Still, good result in the end.

DS finally got the hang of riding his bike today. We knew he could do it before but he didn't if you know what I mean. He had a hospital appointment today and sadly needs another operation on his eyes but it's a tiny operation that will only take about five minutes so I'll worry about it nearer the time! He's been through much worse so this will be nothing to him.

Right, i've five minutes before I serve up dinner so i'm going to read though the thread. Hope everyone's well xx

No iron bought today, will definitely do tomorrow, so ironing pile still to be conquered.

Only a handul of blackberries picked today, enough for a smoothie tomorrow though.

Had a great time at the park with mum and DS.

Have taken some glass to the recycling bank and will do the remainder tomorrow.

Kitchen has been nearly done as has utility room. Dining room not yet started, but I've got all evening what with DH staying away tonight.

15 minutes before I call DS in for shower and bedtime routine, how much can I get done in that time?
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

LJD1 sorry to hear he needs another operation but pleased to hear it's only a small one, well done with the bike riding :D

I've managed to level 3 ish but not done the floors yet :o will do them when the boys go to bed from front door to back, beach = sand everywhere so pleased I haddn't or I'd have been annoyed.

Unfortunately my way with words has been put to the test this morning helping DP with dealing with a committee member who's decided to become a PITA! I'm looking forward to the reply actually, if she, well sort of, dares. After all the effort he's put in, I've had to and what it's cost us I'm not bloomin' having it!

Anyway, we had a good time at the beach however Luke's definately the one with an upset tummy, having to keep an eye on him as he's even wet in the house twice which he's never done since we have had him which must be over 3 years now. Calling the vet in the morning if he's no better. Got a feeling what has caused it, he's been stealing egg shells etc from the bin!

Got a few things to do, praying the load which is on the line dries before the air gets damp. Floors of course, something for dinner for tonight for me and DP (kids been fed) seeing as changing the delivery day means have had to change meals round since doing my plan, quick tidy living room and put the dry laundry away that was done today so I don't have a mountain again!!!

Going to update the post now with tomorrows list so that should be up in a few minutes if you check back.
One day I might be more organised...........

Ok so i got a bit distracted. I put on the slow cooker this am with a packet of mince and some soya in there chopped onion and a stock cube, along with the left over tomatoes and carrots (minced up so you couldnt tell!) and i have converted it into 2 chilli portions, 2 bolognaise portions and 2 savory mince portions. Each portion is an evening meal with a small portion left for the next day lunch, so thats 12 meals!!!! I couldnt believe it. :D

I eventually did the list, then thought i would go clean my car, so i went to the shed taking the bits from the house which needed to go down there and saw the bag of cactus compost so along with the car stuff bought that up and went and got my cacti downstairs and re potted them and they are now standing in the sink which is full of water. So the sides a mess again. All i have to do after the car is hoover and mop downstairs.

Lil_me glad you enjoyed the beach
LJD1 - hug for your lo

Have a lovely evening everyone well done on your lists. Right to my car with the bucket..

    Tomorrow:

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1

    Vacuum floors and sofas
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
    Wipe the stairs
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    Level 3
    Wipe light switches and banister
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    • Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it
    • Make any important calls you've either not got round to or been putting off!
    • Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be - going to do this later...

LJDI - Well done that boy on his bike. Mine are a long way from that milestone. DD2 cannot get her head round pushing the pedals all the way round! sorry to hear he needs another op but hopefully this will sort the problem out once and for all??

7 week wonder - Go on give the challenge a go. Even if its just to keep receipts the first month it really does make you think about what you buy.

Quiet on here again today guess everyone making the most of the sunshine (while it lasts). We didnt go to the park in the end by the time we had done the garden ornament thing and played in the garden with the bubble machine it was a bit late. Had a much better day with them today and I didnt shout once - miracles do happen.

Got the weeding out the back garden done too, wasnt as bad as I thought, the blooming grapevine though has gone loads of grapes on which I really want to cut off as am worried about the amount of wasps they may attract once ripe - trouble is there is mesh over the top of the pergona.

Wow Aimee that is some batch cooking! Very impressed

Lil_me there is always some git waiting to stir things up, but you never see them when the hard work needs doing.

Right off for a nose around...

    Hiya
Thanks for everyone's kind words about my son. It really helps to know people are thinking of you. I'll keep you informed as to when it all happens but it'll probably be in September....only fair to let him have a day or two off school if he's got to go through it all again! That's his theory anyway.

Just posting my list for tomorrow. I'm working all day but have an hour's gap at 2pm so will do everything then.

Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe

Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)

You honestly couldn't be more right, last week this 'person' stood and watched as me and my 6 year old struggled to get the tracks out without even offering to help. Will gladly dip into the kitty when needs some cash to borrow saying will use it for stock, arrives a few weeks later with stock (which they had too much of to start with, just needed an excuse to use the money), just sees it as a loan fund I think. All been stopped now of course. rant over, for now.

The beach was great, just updated Megan's thread as I now call it with a couple of videos if you want to have a look http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=461207&page=3 she's like a new dog again, quality isn't very good as was just took on mobile phone.

Aimee you just reminded me the car needs cleaning out and 'desanding' oh then there is the dog hair, hmm, busy day tomorrow, will be either back later with my ever increasing list or in the morning.
