    Afternoon all :hello:

Kind of getting there today. I've just put another load of washing in, still 2 to go  but I'm getting there. Just about to make lunch but I wanted to sort my list. Plan is lunch, watch Muppet Christmas Carol while ironing, then jobs in the kitchen while DD watches The Snowman. By the time I'm done in the kitchen DD should be ready to watch Muppet Family Christmas or A Very Merry Muppet Christmas (or whatever its called  ) while I carry on with more ironing :D Can you see a theme here?

    Anyways :

    Dailies :
    • [strike]Beds[/strike] - Left them turned back to air since I've got all the windows open ;)

    I'm in!

Last week was a lightbulb moment week for me as far as organisation goes - I came face to face with my hoarding and clutter. I spent 4 DAYS looking for my passport which I needed as identification for something - this introduced a weeks delay which I absolutely could have done without.

And in trying to find the passport I went through the house top to bottom and faced my multiple drawers of 'stuff' - you know, stuff. Old bills, playing cards (I found a DOZEN packs of playing cards!!!!) receipts, photographs, just piles and piles and piles of paper that shocked me. Went in the loft and found empty cardboard boxes for things that had already been thrown away. Found letters from an ex when I thought the house had been de-ex'd :rotfl:. Just a shocking amount of junk that feels like it's wearing me down and stopping me living efficiently.

And then the news that the banks were contesting the reclaims made my heart sink. I had put it off for months and finally sent my first letter with claim last week *shrugging shoulders* so I've missed out on that and it was for over 2k.

Enough is enough. Seriously. It's time to de-clutter, re-cycle and just get organised. I want a house where anyone can come round at anytime without me feeling embarrassed. And if flylady is what it takes then count me in!

Saying all that I'm at work right now so can't update what I've done because I haven't done anything yet :p but I'm nipping home at dinnertime and then will do whatever this evening and make a start.

Thanks in advance for the support, you've helped me with the meal-planning and budgeting, now it's time to de-clutter the house and free my mind a little :o

  • Hi again everyone,

Well we didnt actually start till around 11 as we had a lazy lie in this morning, i realised the bathroom was a bit horrid after i had my shower so gave the bathroom a quick swish over (toilet, window sill, bath, sink and wiped door down).

Then i tackled the kitchen as OH (off today) took the easier option and started on the dining room:mad: (less needed doing in here!) , well the kitchen wasnt too bad so shouldnt take long, .... or so i thought!

Cleared and wiped all tops -DONE
Cleaned all cupboard doors - DONE
Cleaned all fronts of appliances - DONE
Cleaned all smaller appliances - DONE
Put some things that havent been used and are taking up space away -DONE
Threw loads of clutter in the bin- DONE
Cleaned inside of window - DONE
    Cleaned windowsill -DONE
Cleaned all of surface boards etc - DONE

Meanwhile while i was doing this OH finished the dining room
    Cleaned table - DONE
    Threw away clutter - DONE
Cleared surfaces of desk - DONE
    Hoovered - DONE

Then went and cleaned out the Bunny's hutch, and then came in to help me clear the rest of the clutter in the kitchen, (he is chief breadmaker and now has own cupboard), then he swept the floor while i cleaned all the sink and draining board!

So quite a productive morning and so i am very pleased with us for getting so much done!:T :j

    Thanks to all of you!!!!

Not very moneysaving i know but we are off to a cafe for lunch now then to the country park with our boys, before going for eye tests which are well over due!

You nere know we may even do some more tonight!

Bye for now and thanks again

ShirleyP good luck at the bank

Like lots of you I often fall off the flying wagon but find it really reassuring that if you get back on track within a week things are much better again.

Tissue went threw with my last wash of the day yesterday  I have tried shaking it off but no joy so will have to get the roller thing out.

Right need to start the kitchen before the chiropractor for the kids.

AnW'sMum thinking of you, not sure if you are on hols this week.

Oh and the emergency passport - they never even took them out of my hand as we went on the car tunnel

  • Good afternoon everyone,

I popped in a couple of times over the weekend to catch up with the news(loved the photos!) but didn't have time to post until now.

Hello to all newbies - I've only been here a couple of weeks but it is definitely making a difference. So give it a go - it really isn't too scary! And hello to returners who I've not met before.

Well my parents are safely on the train home and I've got one lot of their washing on (this role reversal is getting beyond a joke!). I've also caked bicarb and salt paste all over the inside of the oven; I'll leave it for a couple of hours and then try and give the oven a thorough clean - gulp! I don't plan to do too much else (though I will clean the kitchen floor) as I'm knackered after 3 days entertaining. Mind you I did get one comment from my mum "Gosh your kitchen is looking lovely and shiney" - result!

Have a good afternoon everyone and I'll catch up with you later,

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi everyone,

Haven't been around for a couple of weeks 'cause of visit from my Mum. I have previously been much more stressed before/during/after her visits but thanks to you flyladys (lil-me especially - thanks for the lists) I coped much better and the house is still reasonably flylady-ish.

Back on track now despite summer holidays (have to be, in-laws coming on Sunday:eek: ) and DD at summer school which is 40 mins walk from here, so that's at least 3 hours out of my day but it is last day tomorrow. It is part of gifted and talented thing and they meet up during year and is one of the few chances she gets to feel 'normal' and be accepted by her peers just as she is.

Should just have enough time to do kitchen before setting off again.

    Catch you all later

Dustykitten - Thanks for the heads up about the carrots, I will get them in this week. And I am still Diet Coke free! I confess I am drinking some lime pop as a treat, but on the whole I am sticking to tea and feel soooooo much better for it.

Ground to a halt a bit in the last few hours, DS has needed a bit of a fuss/change/feed. But I did get my Sainsbury's shop updated (Tescos deliveries here can't get the hang of 'no substitutions') and it should arrive in a convoy tomorrow.

It is so lovely dipping into this thread, and I will be back later when I can show off some stuff crossed off the list!

    Hugs to all!

Hey there's a lot of activity on here today, fantastic :T
Welcome to lots of Newbies and Returners too many to mention. And Merry Christmas nicki..:rotfl:

I've just got up from my sick bed where I've been since 7 last night, sleep sleep, wonderful sleep. Feeling loads better though. Once I'm showered and dressed (ish) I'll have a couple of short goes at the kitchen. I was good yesterday though and kept it tidy despite a big cooking session and I got the steps out and wiped all the tops of the wall cupboards (greasy!) and all the shelves.

Not going to do too much I promise and I wouldn't bother getting dressed at all but Bob's got his final (hopefully) vet visit at 6.

Keep on flying, maybe catch you later this evening.
