    Morning all!

I managed to get most things off the list done yesterday - Mark even noticed that the kitchen and dining room looked tidy when he got in :rotfl:

I've unloaded the DW and reloaded it this morning, and have got a first load of washing in - just tidying around the living room at the moment (where do all the scraps of paper and loose change come from - do they breed?!?!) and I'm off out to the office in a bit. Will have to do most of the cleaning this afternoon when we get back in.

    Speak to you all later!

:hello: Have become addicted to this board now as well as the others

So I am on board this week, half did Monday's list without realising it and so I will tackle today's list now. Have e-mailed DH, and he and DD are doing some jobs between them and I get the most difficult Level 3 I presume!

    Wish me luck...............
  • Right folks taking the bull by the horns and jumping in. I am hoping that this board will help give me the kick up the ... that I need. Will start at level one cos I am trying to tame a garden as well. I am not kidding you if I find any furniture hidden out there no one would be surprised. Taking it all one baby step at a side.

  • Morning all,

Happiness is - having a nice early night and a great night's sleep! Boy did I need it, but the good news is I'm raring to go today and have already got the first load of washing on the line.

Shell - I think I will dip my toe in the Grocery challenge. I think I scared myself as I kept all the receipts for the second half of July and we spent *loads*. Still it did include a big Costco shop for loo-roll, toothpaste etc plus a big shop before the weekend - which should keep us going for ages.

Kazmeister - I know what you mean about playing catch-up. I have to keep reminding myself that the list is an aid not a list of instructions!

Welcome to Juliapenguin - you sound like you are in a similar situation to me. I finshed work a couple of weeks ago and start back at University in 5 weeks (gulp!) so I'm using the time to get life back in control (with plenty of fun and lazing around thrown in for good measure).

Right - time to do some academic stuff, flying gets done in the afternoons in this house.

Have a good morning everyone and I'll catch up with you all later,

    Hey all!

Well i was all geared up for this mornings list after my kitchen yesterday (it looks like show house! lol):A

So i started by dusting the hallway, window sills, radiators etc, then cleaned the windows and frames and the front door too, next is to do the sweeping and hoovering of the stairs, which is ok,...... but i was planning on doing to the lounge,..... but i saw it! Its a tip, and its sunny outside and my boys are bored!

Should i still do it and not spend time with my boys (not fair!)

or should i finish what im doing and then do a mini ransack with a bin bag and then hoover? I just dont waint to fail on my second day!

    Any ideas peeps?

I feel guilty cos yesterday we planned on spending time with the boys but they misebehaved when we did get out (after lunch) then this spoiled things and we had an eye appoinment so they were a nightmare in the opticians, so we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and went to the local pub with outdoor play area thinking that the day had been spoilt and they needed to have some fun, they were a total nightmare and both ended up in bed at 7pm last night due to their behaviour!

I dont know what to do, just cant seem to get as motivated as yesterday and the lounge being in the state it is isnt helping!

OOOH ooooh wanted to ask your opinion too, we have all our coats (barr a few that arnt worn regularly) piled behind the chair in the lounge:eek: , OH wants to put some hooks up in the hall, i said no as its only a narrow hallway and dont want it looking cluttered, we do have a porch but its not big either, it currently has a big chest with all shoes in and a bike and few footballs, we have nowhere to put the bike so that has to stay, but do you think that it would look to cluttered with some coat hooks and we put all the coats in there? Hard to tell cos you cant see i know but at the end of my tether with the lounge and i NEED to declutter and quick!

    Regards,

    Feisty!

p.s will go and do a bit more and check back again in a while, im sure it must be time for a cuppa soon....

    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –

    • Tidy coats, shoes and bags (Pigpen may find this one time consuming with all those yummy shoes)
Will try and do some of the things that I missed yesterday whilst DS is up, as I am trying to avoid vacuuming until he goes for his nap. He is still very scared and I hate to do it to him, I am sure he would get over it if I kept doing it but I hate seeing him so scared.

Will give DD her bottle and then get on with the lists.

Well, yesterday's first day went well - did level one and level two, and also cleaned the small appliances so I was very pleased there.

Today I think between us we can tackle Tuesday's list, and my one extra will have to be 5 mins on a hot spot - my dining room has become a bit of a dumping ground and certainly not somewhere I could eat!

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1
Vacuum floors and sofas - Done by DD
    Level 2
Remove clutter - Done - can walk down stairs without risking life
    Level 3
Wipe light switches and banister - Done
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc - Done
Vacuum under furniture - Done by DD where possible
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    • Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it - this will be my dining room.
    • Make any important calls you've either not got round to or been putting off! .. - have to ring tax credits and do some paperwork which I will include in this bit. - Done!!
    • Tidy coats, shoes and bags
Have a good day everyone. Will report back later!!

I say tell the boys "right lets set the timer and all spend 10 minutes tidying the lounge and then the rest of the day is yours" - worth a try. Then you will feel good because you did something in there and the boys will feel happy because they have the rest of the day to play (plus you get some fresh air too). Lounge will be on the list next week but the sunshine - I doubt it very much lol! Sounds like you have had a productive morning anyway.

Well my list is mainly done:-

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1

    Vacuum floors and sofas DONE
    Level 2
Dusting, even if around everything DONE (Did cobweb hunt yesterday too)
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe NO CLUTTER
    Level 3
Wipe light switches and banister DID YESTERDAY
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc DONE
    Vacuum under furniture DID YESTERDAY
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    • Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it
    • Make any important calls you've either not got round to or been putting off! ..
    • Tidy coats, shoes and bags (Pigpen may find this one time consuming with all those yummy shoes)
    Also need to:-

Wash nets from lounge and porch DONE - nets in wash and inside of porch cleaned
    Clean inside lounge window DONE
S & S Kitchen (including breakfast dishes) DONE
    S & S Bathroom DONE
Trip to library with littles for craft session :D
Update Mr T order - thought of couple more things I need:rolleyes:
Complete forms for girls Fairy Workshop:D
    Make biscuits
    Hoover through DONE
    Make beds (currently airing) DONE
Put load in WM & peg out DONE (about to peg out)

And I timed myself just less than an hour, would have had to spend that on one room when I first started.

Right must get girls ready and book bag for library. May even get the paddling pool out this afternoon and pretend we are at the seaside - lol.

    Cuppa me thinks
