Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all :hello:

I didn't come back on here yesterday as I was worn out by the time I finished the ironing - nearly 5 hours worth  But thanks to the nice weather I did get all the washing done, I've even washed the curtain I put up at the front door over the winter :j I'm putting the one for the back door on in a minute. ;) They were found in a heap at the back of the understairs cupboard last Monday but I haven't had the chance to wash them until yesterday/today

Managed to get the dishes caught up with and I sorted out the food cupboard - talk about Old Mother Hubbard! :o Apart from baking/sweet making things the cupboard are almost bare and I'm going to be majorly overdrawn this month so food shopping has to be kept to a minimum  Could prove...erm.....interesting & challenging to say the least :rotfl::rotfl:

    Right, todays plan:
    • Dailies
      • Beds (will leave them airing until this afternoon, they seem much fresher when we get in them then ;) )
      • Bathroom S&S
      • Kitchen S&S
      • Evening meal
      • 1 wash load - backdoor curtain!
    • Post office with ebay parcel
    • Asda for shopping (eggs, potatoes, spread, bananas and thats IT)
Will possibly tackle the hoovering & dusting in the livingroom & kitchen, but it will be after I've taken DD out for the day - we're going to do a local history walk but taking the digital camera with us so we can take photos of how places look now and then make up a webpage (kind of like a blog) for her to "publish" on her webspace where we'll also be doing things like school work etc ... easy way to keep all the family up-to-date with whats going on and keeps DD entertained :T It's only around our district of Liverpool so we'll probably call in at my mums on the way around (if she's not out) as we haven't seen them since...erm.... 14th I think  My brain doesn't want to work today so it should prove an interesting day :rotfl::rotfl:

Right, off to put the curtain in to wash and do some dishes. Oh and check the options on Google images before I let DD search for some pictures  "strict Safe search" needs to be implemented...either that or search my bookmarks for the historic images I have bookmarked... No...dishes NOW

    morning everyone.

I'm having one of those days where things are destined to go wrong today i think. Cats were naughty and killed a rabbit,2 baby birds and some rodenty thing last night, so all that had to be cleared up,

loaded WM with my cushion covers last night, so that went on 1st thing, and DH put them on the line to drip dry for me. WM now on a hot wash with soda crystals and vinegar as it is a bit smelly. Towels lined up to go on next.

My friend is coming at about 3, so the flying will mainly be putting the clutter back in its rightful place and a bit of a hoover. I swear DH makes life more difficult. Just daft things like not putting stuff back. or leaving coins on the side instead of sticking them in the money box. Tried talking to him last night about him helping out more when i go back to work and he seemed receptive. trouble is he will do jobs if i ask him but totally lacks any self motivation and just walks past stuff that just shouts out at me.

Anyway, enough melancholy, hugs all round, and here's my list to get me started:
    Tuesday 31/07:
    Deal with post
    Make bottles
    Hoover porch, hall and stairs
    Hoover kitchen
    Dust dining room
Wipe round small appliances in kitchen
    Wipe front of white appliances
    Clean back door
Ring Asda photo printing about mistakes
Deal with hot-spot on the coffee table
Quickly run hoover round living room again
[strike]Wash cushion covers and get out on the line[/strike]
Wash a load of Charlie’s light stuff
    Do some ironing
    Friend visiting
    Prep veg for dinner
    Cook dinner
[strike] Get DH to take christening accept to work[/strike]

    extras:
    • WM run on a hot wash to clean it
    • our bath towels washed, and now on the line
    • cat-kill cleaned up
    • charlie's finger nails cut

Feisty Fairy- We have a narrow hallway too and I know what you mean about cluttered coats, but I would go for this option over having them in the lounge. One thing that gets me annoyed is things being in the wrong room and I would rather have a more decluttered lounge and have them in a more suitable place.
I keep our coats to a minimum downstairs. Are they all necessary to have out all year round? Could any of them to hung on the back of yours/children's bedroom doors or go in the wardrobes or be packed under beds?
We have coat hooks at adult level for our things to be hung on and lower down ones for DS that way he's used to being responsible for hanging up his own jacket!
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Monday didn't do too great, I was quite a lazy girl and all I really achieved were the dishes and the laundry, although I did manage to make some mooncakes for esbat ritual. I blame the PC distracting me! Plus I was still very tired from the weekend and have another cold brewing :(
I absolutely must get on top of the living room today as it was neglected last week, only getting a quick flick round with the Dyson.

    WARNING:

Still getting the dodgy bank emails from Lloyds/TSB but also had one from Halifax today - these seem much more genuine when you have an account with the bank concerned so please all beware especially those being distracted by kids at home.

michelle - my OH is the same, if i ask him to help he will do the job i give him and then sit down, rather than seeing what else needs doing. he says he just doesn't notice / care if the house is super tidy or not... he thinks his mum goes over the top hovering once a week! he will have to help out once we're married - or pay for a cleaner ;)

in addition to some bits from my big list today i need to take the mammoth pile of stuff to oxfam, and buy a few essentials. i'll take my shopping trolley when we nip out later. otherwise just some of my list, though won't be easy as friend around the whole time. she offered to hoover though when i said i needed to do it, so i may just take her up on that! otherwise the essentials for today are:

    hoover through
    expenses
    c card
work out what OH owes me
get photos printed for steve's present.

    .

I think i might go for writing the to-do list out on paper, and then he might actually do something off the list without me asking. Or otherwise get him to help me write the list.

His mum had him quite well trained when he was at home as he used to get up and she had written him a list before she left.

I also suggested that he might cook once a week when i go back to work.

I think the trouble with these blokes is that they are capable of it but they trust that we will just do it. I notice he always pulls his weight if things are urgent, like parental visit. but the weekly grind is not of interest.

To his credit, he did do about 5 jobs for me last night while i did dinner, as i said, while you have shoes on, could you do......, oh and ..... needs doing too. :D Trick is to catch him at the right time. ;)
