Solwaykid I was just wondering how Bob got on at the vets the other day? Hope he is feeling better.

lil_me I do believe that you are superwoman! Flylady queen, and rescuer of animals in need. Yours and Megan's story was truly heartwarming. Was watching animal rescue today, and wished that I could adopt some more animals, but a) my OH wouldn't want to, and b) I don't think that Ebony would like it either. It used to be my dream when I was younger to own a rescue centre, so if I ever won a million, I think that's what I would do. Thank you for sharing your story and photos with us.

To everyone else who needs a hug, here you go::grouphug:

    Happy flying everyone!

Welcome even more newbies, its a great place to start (massive thanks to lil_me for the thread each week) Just dont try to do it all at once.

Well thats it for me today, I'm not doing anymore apart from meals and tidying away afterwards. I have been slaughtering myself over trying to do everything, its impossible to do it all. All public areas of my house are tidy for the first time in years (ok except the downstairs loo and utility) and theres no clutter other than in the hotspots left, and for a large house that feels good as I've only been playing flylady for a month.

    todays list

    Kids done !
    [strike]S/S kitchen
    S/S Bathroom
    Wiping table
    Mini hoovering downstairs
    Walk dog
    [/strike]

    Me to do
    [strike]Book holiday insurance[/strike] - done
    Pay childminder

    Hotspots to clear
    Utility room
    Downstairs loo
    Old Au pair room
    DS Old room
    Our room

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs
[strike]Vacuum floors and sofas[/strike] - both L Rms, Hall, stairs 1 and a half flights plus the spiral stairs!
    [strike]Dusting, even if around everything[/strike]
[strike]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe[/strike]
[strike]Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    [/strike]
Wipe light switches and banister - can wait
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc - it can wait
Vacuum under furniture - Did last week so not going to stress about it this week
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it - kiddie time more important
[strike]Make any important calls you've either not got round to or been putting off[/strike]! - havent got any
[strike]Tidy coats, shoes and bags[/strike] - all tidy
[STRIKE]Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be[/STRIKE] - clutter is only in the hotspots now :p

Dont overdo it ladies, I'm going to enjoy the sunshine - maybe play in the tent with DD
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

    Afternoon all

One load of washing done, dried and put away.

Level 2 done in living room. Hallway hoovered, kitchen S & Sd and hoovered. AND I pulled out the small freezer and hoovered behind it. (I dropped the timer behind and had to pull the freezer out to get it:eek: )

Made two lots of cake to freeze for lunchboxes and cleared kitchen up again after.

Took dog to vet for her annual booster.

Typed all this once before and the page crashed........

  • Wish me luck folks,

I'm going back into the oven. Going to see how much gunk I can get off it during an episode of The Archers (yes I know - I really *should* get a life!)

Then it's a fly round today's list, and finally prepare the big bowl of red, back and white currents I've picked ready to go in this year's Rumtopf.

    I'll report back later,

OK, not had too bad a day today.....

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1
Vacuum floors and sofas - swept and mopped the living room floor, decided to vac the hall and stairs when it gets a bit cooler!
    Level 2
[strike]Dusting, even if around everything [/strike]
[strike]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
    [/strike]
[strike]Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets[/strike]
    Level 3
    [strike]Wipe light switches and banister
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)[/strike]
moved the sofas out and swept/mopped under them

    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    • [strike]Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it [/strike] Cleared the loose change, scraps of paper, receipts etc off the mantlepiece
    • [strike]Make any important calls you've either not got round to or been putting off! [/strike] Yep, had one of them as well
    • [strike]Tidy coats, shoes and bags (Pigpen may find this one time consuming with all those yummy shoes) [/strike]
    • Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be
Have also wiped around the kitchen and dining table, unloaded/loaded the dishwasher and am on my second load of washing. Think I may have to tackle the ironing mountain tonight

Tomorrow's a fairly hectic day, so might not get much chance to do any cleaning until the evening.

Less of that! I like the Archers too, I listen to the omnibus every Sunday morning lol

*edit - update* my daughter asked if her pal can come round, and the house is a tip! I said 3:30pm would be ok, but she has to help me clean and tidy her room (just come down from there, it's a big job!) there is a web of her hair all over the carpet.

Which reminds me, last night I saw the carpet in the bathroom which I didn't vacuum last week, there was a spider with it's leg caught in the hairy web coating that carpet. I rescued it! This is a problem I never envisaged with having two longhairs in the house :)
