I did all the bedrooms on Wednesday so don't have them to do.

First load of washing dried, folded and put away. The rest of the throws and the cushion covers have been washed and they are on the line. The cushion pads are on the garden bench in the sun to air. They're a bit "limp" and I daren't wash them because I know they will go lumpy. Might spray them with my lavender fabric spray if I remember before I put the clean covers on.

Last time I aired them I went out later to find the cats asleep on them! Wasn't really what I had in mind...

Time to start cooking. Might make a sponge while I've got the oven on.

Right.. all 8 childrens beds are stripped.. and sheets in the WM's.. my wash basket is almost empty.. It has that 'half empty' feeling rather than half full.. :D That feels good.

I am about to tackle the bedrooms once the grubs have finished eating.. or rather supervise their work! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

Pigpen, can I please ship DD1 over to you for the rest of today otherwise I dont think she will survive!! DD2 is being a little superstar. DD1 has had me in tears 3 times today and locking myself in my bedroom twice for her safety. Wish I could pop round to my mums for a chat or 5 min break but as she is in Sunny Spain not really an option, likewise phoning her for a moan. I dont know what it is but she has been wearing me down over the last couple of weeks, I thought it was the ear infection but that is all clear and she is just getting worse. Sorry rant over just felt the need to "talk" to someone about it.

Took them to the puppet show, we made the sponge just got to fill it. Tea cannot be bothered with a roast for will do picnic style tea, will cook pork of for filled rolls. Just put cheese and onion mix in BM for rolls. Also put bottle of wine in fridge for when littles go to bed only 4 hours to go.

Sorry she is kicking off again.

Shell my lovely.. if you were closer you could happily drop her off here.. mine are all being angelic for once!! I don't know what I have done but they are all being fine these holidays (cue sceraming, fighting, hysteria, loony moments) It is hubby I'm having bother with lol.. wonder if they have summer clubs for daddies!?!?

These seem to be having great fun.. that or they daren't come near me in case I give them more work to do lol.. Actually.. that's probably it!!

I recommend a water pistol so you can shoot them when they are being pesky.. they aren't allowed it.. only you!! Definitely works in here.

    (((hugs)))

is she anxious about going up to big school shell?

I'm dreading getting to the proper paddy stage. We can have bad enough ones now, and its all i can do to stop him throwing himself all over.

Trouble is, if she is seeing how to push your buttons she will do it all the more. Might sound mean but perhaps DD2 should have some sort of treat and DD1 do without. Or perhaps you could try a reward system like lil-me is using.

I must be unwell - got quite a bit done so far, although it helped that demolition man had 3 hours sleep, then took half an hour to eat the sandwich i made him for lunch. I somehow think i should make the most of that as the way he eats, he'll probably be quicker than i can do anything as he gets more teeth.

Anyway, back to it for 20 mins while he is watching his baby DVD.

Shell, big hugs. Maybe all the attention for being 'niggly' when she was poorly, if she's now missing that then this can cause them to see it as a way to get attention, 'do what I did when I was poorly and Mammy gives me attention for it which means my sister gets less'. Just a suggestion, I know ignoring bad behaviour is hard but it can be the way forward. Kids are much brighter than we give them credit for most of the time.

As for rewards for being good which of course you do with the ignoring bad bits (of course take notice if causes a danger) I find some of the charts on here www.chartjungle.com there are lots. Don't need to be expensive if they like arty things can fill them in themselves. My friend's little twin girls were being monsters so we printed off a blank tree and as they earn rewards they draw a flower on the tree and colour it in. Of course you don't want to leave them achieving nothing and have to make a HUGE effort to praise everything they do that is good. I remember an experienced teacher and Mam to 12 said to me 'Even if they breathe nicely praise them for it' it's so much harder making a point of the good things and ignoring the bad.

Of course this is one option, there are many, I've been successfully using similar reward systems since my boys were dinky for all kinds of things from toilet issues to manners. Many parents try them and say they don't work but when you ask for more info they haven't been consistent with it. The main key in modifying behaviour is consistency. If you don't believe in it, neither will they.
One day I might be more organised...........
