Giving up smoking

Morning quitters!
Just checking in to see how we are all doing. 3 weeks and a day for me now. Woohoo!
My husband has been really supportive of me and is really proud and impressed with how well I've done, so much so that he has now been smoke free for 5 days.
We are moving to a new home this week and it is great not to bring the smelly dirty cigarette smell with us. All the upholstery is being steam cleaned before we go so we are only taking freshness with us.
Keep going guys. You are all doing great!:T Looking forward to the future :T0 -
3 weeks and a day for me too and it's definitely getting easier.
I've also noticed that the improved sense of smell is a blessing and a curse too - commuting's bad enough without being able to smell other people!!
rock queen - that's excellent that your husband's giving up too and it'll be lovely being able to keep the new house all fresh and clean. Hopefully the fact that you won't associate the place with smoking will make it seem easier too.0 -
You can start quitting smoking with use of Zyban which contains bupropion 150mg which inhibits the nicotine, urge to body and help out to reduce the smoking habits.0

Izadora I know what you mean about sense of smell. So far I can only smell nasty things. Hopefully when summer comes I will be able to smell the roses!:T Looking forward to the future :T0

Hello quitters
How is everyone doing?
All good here and 26 days under the belt :j:j
Still using the e cigs and probably will for another month or so but then want to get rid of those as well as I don't just want another crutch.
Depression has been quite bad but I know the weather affects me as well as a few problems at work so can't totally blame the fags. I really look forward to summer as a non smoker and some extra money to spend on some summer clothes
Hope everyone else is doing OK0 -
Glad to see everyone else is doing well.
In 6 days time I will have been a non smoker for 10 months. I used patches for the first 8 weeks and then found I didn't feel any different whether I had one on or not. So didn't bother and it wasn't a problem.
I don't have cravings but I do have 'the urge' a few times a day. I find when I am busy I don't have a thought to have a smoke, but being retired, there is only so much you can do in a day.
Ah well, really proud of myself and of course my hubby who stopped instantly with me.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Wow congratulations McKneff and you are right to be proud. I remember seeing your thread when you first gave up and here we are 10 months down the line:j
I look forward to being out of the fog that is the early days of giving up but I do know my resolve is rock steady and I will NEVER smoke another cigarette0 -
I've made it past the 28 day mark, which apparently means I'm now 5 times more likely to quit for good.
I tend to be quite miserable in January and February normally as well and have noticed that it's hitting me harder than normal but I really do feel like I've come far enough now that having a cigarette would annoy me and make me a lot more miserable than not having one.
Well done everyone else and keep up the good work.0 -
