Giving up smoking

Hi another one joining in if you don't mind. You are all doing really well and I am determined this time. I have been having a couple a day the past week but know how easy it will be for this to creep up again.
So last night was my last. I've downloaded the app and will use an e-cig to start off with to get me through those 'I could kill someone' moments.
Main motivation for me is the money - I really can't afford to smoke and can no longer justify the expense. How bonkers is that, surely health should be my no.1 motivation but I think I just bury my head in the sand in terms of the damage smoking is doing to my health.
Good luck to you all, you have given me the motivation I needed so thank you all!Outstanding debts as of 2/11/20 1/2/21:
CC1 39.9% - £3111.99 3762.20
CC2 0% - £978.50 878.50
Family - £520 0
Storecard - £248.44 (BNPL/June21) / £299.99 (BNPL/Sept21)
Total: £5,189.13
Savings: £943 (target £1000)
Target date to clear: July 2021 ???0 -

Hello there is a light
The app has really helped me. I love the daily missions they set you
I know what you mean about burying your head in the sand re health I was doing the same until I started to realise my health was a lot worse than my friends of the same age who didn't smoke. I guess its true what they say that if we could actually see the damage on the outside nobody would smoke:(
Good luck and let us know how you get on0 -
Hi Jen and there is a light, welcome to the gang and good luck!!0

It's really nice to see you all getting together for support, it's what makes the world go round.
Honestly you can all do it, you're ex smokers now, it's just early days, just like all us boring old long term ex smokers went through and somehow survived !
Best of luck to you all.0 -
Well done everyone:beer:
just keep reminding yourself that you have wasted your time and every craving you have managed to get through up till now if you "just have one"
things will get easier nowIf it isn't broken, don't try to fix it.0 -

I have smoked for 30+ years. I never smoked when pregnant or breast feeding. I really want to quit. I have tried the patches so many times but a) I'm allergic to the glue and b) the nightmares were horrendous.
I would like to try the ecigs but I have no idea what to buy, where to buy etc... Could anyone help me out please?
Thank you.0 -
