Just checking in to see how my fellow non smokers are doing?
Welcome aboard woodster76!
I've had the occasional very strong craving over the last couple of weeks but that was due to the house move and all the stress that goes with moving. Hubby fell off the wagon and is still off it but he is determined to get back on in the near future.
Keep up the good work everyone!:T Looking forward to the future :T0 -
Well done everyone! :T

Well done to everyone - Ive stopped a few times but always seem to go back....I'll be trying to stop again very shortly as lets face it, its a killer, its smells, its chavy, it does nothing, and i pay £££'s for it
Not sure if its been mentioned but its definitely worth read, allen carr's easyway to stop smoking pdf free....google it
Good luck x0 -
I'm with you all the way non smokers, believe me if I can do it then anyone can! Ooooh imagine smelling fresh & not like an old ashtray. Although I must admit that I once loved the smell  You will never know how bad you smelled until you've stopped for quite a while. But I've every faith in all of you x0

Well done on 5 days and yes it does get easier
The first week is hell, second week has its better moments occasionally and then each week after the better moments start to outweigh the hell moments
Well that is my experience anyway
How you doing Woodster76 have you bought yourself a nice treat yet for all that saving :T0 -
Well done for making it to 5 days and yes, it definitely gets easier.
I've managed 6 weeks now and it's still difficult at times (generally if something's stressed me out) but I think the biggest difference is that it's now just really hard moments, which pass quickly enough, every now and then rather than being constantly on my mind.
I found that after the first 3 days, at which point all the nicotine should've left your body, it really helped me to remind myself that I was over the worst of it and that having 'just one' would mean I'd have to go through it all again.
Good luck and keep on going.0 -
Well done everyone. I have now not smoked for 15 days. I had been wanting to quit for a long time. I read Alan Carrs book and tried for Stoptober but failed dismally after one morning! I was looking for a stop smoking app one sunday evening and downloaded a couple of them. When I realised that one of them had started counting how long I had not smoked for immediately I then couldn't have another cigarette as it would have to start counting again. Very bizarre that an App that counts is more powerful than my children asking, the money, the smell or the health issues. The first few days I was looking at the App every half an hour or so but I forget to fill in my diary entry now and it has to remind me. No NRT either. I was planning to spend the money that I have saved on a treat but as my husband had not given up he needed some money for his ski trip so he is now spending my money in Austria as we speak. Maybe next month I can spend my own :-( I have noticed that I can smell much better but most of the time I would rather not be able to as lots of things smell nasty.Latest wins: Shower, knife sharpener, remote control BB8.0
