Pastry blender? I've never used one, my hands hurt if I rub in these days so I just bung it in the stand mixer.
My joy today is a sort of negative one - woke up with a cold and sore throat and feeling shivery all day AND I've got visitors (family) coming tomorrow. The upside however is that I knew where the lemsip and the hot water bottle were, no hunting for them. Making the beds is easy thanks to my new habit of packing the bedding sets together in a pillow slip. And tidying up the spare room ... what tidying? A few papers to file, some drying washing to put away and the bedrooms are clear, ready to use. I cannot tell you what a difference this is - no need to shift boxes, bags and piles of Stuff. It really is life-transforming.
Hope you're ok iQueen, as Mavvy said, we miss your words of wisdom!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
Everyone is doing so well, despite some difficult circumstances. Shall we award ourselves a collective pat on the back? Or a round of applause :T
my joyful thing? I went to CS to look for a cuddly for 2 y.o. Saw a few nice ones but then my eyes alighted on.........you'll never believe it........ a killer whaleIt's lovely n soft, in immaculate condition and I think he'll love hugging it (just the right size). I am still smiling at the remark made by the gent in the queue behind me, who said, I bet you never thought you'd be carrying a whale home this afternoon!
And, all the diy project stuff is now crated for the loft with space to spare in the box, so tonight I shall gather all the decorators sheets up and pop them in too. That will free up my pretty washing hamper that is covered by a table cloth in the corner of my LR and that can be repurposed! It really is magic, isn't it??
reflecting how some of these Kondoing achievements bring real joy in themselves/I]
Hope you are feeling better iQueen.
Karmacat you obviously had a briliant day and your hard work paid off, as it should!
Mavvy I always say goodbye to the swifts and swallows as they leave in Autumn.
Jinny, a small kindness can mean a lot to folk, as you know and yet it costs so little in time or effort for us to do. I still remember being up my neck with work surrounded by family lazing around prior to a big get-together and a more distant relative came in and just said shall I make a cup of tea for you? I could have hugged him, just that simple act meant so much because it HELPED when I needed it.
To everyone else who is so busy, you're doing great but take at least one moment to pause, take a breath and think of something that makes you smile (Siebrie, that doesn't mean you can imagine throwing something at DH ! ).
Have a joyful moment All,

As long as I only imagine it, it's fine, right? Nah, it's okay, usually he's a good partner and father, does most of the cooking, washing up, vacuuming, ironing, bathroom cleaning, salsa dancing, and diy-ing. It just got to me that when I asked him to take over 2 of my tasks because I was so stuck for time, he didn't, where I had taken over a few of his tasks when he needed me to, earlier in the week.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -

4,All paint out of the house and into the storage shed :DThis is so joyful as I hate to know its lurking in here I just dont think paint belongs in the house but that may just be me
No, it's definitely not just you. Our paint is either in the garage or a shed. And it all needs Kondo-ing. Couldn't have it in the house unless it was in a room actively being decorated.

Living in a flat, I keep my paint inside. But there is little of it, and most of it gets used for crafts rather than large tubs for rooms:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0

Morning kondoites
I am so glad to read your joy bringing things from yesterday it always makes me smile so thank you for that.
I still havent purchased a present  and have not done one thing for Christmas and I must say I am loving it
The only thing I have done is order some expensive (funny) crackers for our friends who we are spending Christmas Day with.
I am sure they will be worth the money with the fun they will bring to everyone
Its my Birthday just after Christmas and I need new trainers as my toes are though mine :rotfl:So I am pleased I need something this year not just want for the sake of it.
I am now back running at least 3 miles a day as I had a chest infection which has taken weeks to clear. So pleased to be back I find running helps me mentally so much,
Interesting afternoon today as my dog is going to be starring in a new website promoting the place he swims at. So photos etc being done today and vets and reporters going to be there :rotfl:I am sure he will act normal and still be as miserable as sinNo matter if the cameras are rolling.Unlike 'GARY' the towel who I am sure would be playing up to the cameras :rotfl:
Busy day with personal training this morning (The only work out you ever regret is the one you didnt do ) :rotfl:I have to keep telling myself this.
So have a lovely day all and remember to find the small joyful things

I'm doing that - although I'm currently donating more than 1 item a day (but may only do it weekdays, not weekends)

Hi everyone
My joyful thing yesterday was my first Xmas dinner - I love turkey but DH does not, so I get to have it at parties/get togethers in the run up.
This year only 1 pressie to pack - already home made, to an older neighbour. I made a pact with sisters/friends a few years ago no more presents (no children involved). It makes Xmas so simple.
Good idea re reverse Advent - even more of an incentive to get rid of Stuff!
More lovely words of wisdom from lots of you.
Hugs to people that need them.
Take care. H.0
