Bunbun - your little godson will have his birthday aknowledged and one way or another by the response or lack of one you will know whether to Kondo this relationship.
After my post this morning I had a flying fling and managed to add 9 jumpers, a lovely padded winter jacket that I bought in the US and no longer wear and I did a quick cull of the jeans and managed to add 4 pairs to the CS bag. It hasn't made a very big dent though :(

  • (Long-time lurker here again!)

I catch up with all of your posts most days, I find it very interesting and motivating, so thank you! :)

I really am running out of things to Kondo, but so far this month I have managed to surprise myself and added a few bits to a bag. I have a bag in my pantry that I add to, and then when it's full I take it the the CS.
    It's now full again! :D

I have Kondo-ed a wire fruit bowl, an old biscuit tin, 5 books, an egg timer, 4 curly straws, a cookie cutter set, a utensils pot, a glass butter dish and a couple of tubs.
I have also cleared the surfaces in the kitchen and it has made clearing up and preparing so much easier, and I feel so much more at ease in my own home.

Have had layringitis and a trapped nerve in my arm this week, but getting better now! Keep well everyone xx

Today my joyful thing was having lunch with two close friends in a lovely posh pub! We can all talk the hind leg off a donkey, as my nan would have said! !
One of my friends thanked me for introducing her to the MK t-shirt folding n filing method and the other one has invited me to her house in the new year to help her do some MK magic :).

We had such a laugh, exchanging stories of the mad things that have happened to us in the last 2
months. An elderly couple had asked whether they could sit at the end of the massive table we were sat at because the place was full, and of course this was no problem.

As they were leaving (long before us!!), they came down to ask if it was someone's birthday (we were exchanging pressies) and they said they were intrigued about how much laughter was coming from our
end of the table and that it had been lovely to meet us.

All in all, an excellent time was had! Not strictly kondo-ing, except a yummy lunch, but spreading the word all the same.

Definite kondo breakthrough - DH has just presented me with 11 dvd's for CS:
This is the same guy who rummages through any bags I have put ready to go out and questions why items are going!

So onwards and upward. Hope everyone's OK and snug, out of the weather.

:T Oh, how lovely MMF007. And well done to purpleposting4 for keeping going despite adverse health.

I've been out for most of the day but kondo'd some photos before I went then again after I came back. All in all, 130 of them went through the shredder! In batches, didn't want it to have a meltdown.

I've brought a few of them out to display, too, and am enjoying my pix again. The only value of them is to be seen, whether album'd, boxed, enveloped, framed, stuck onto pinboards. If you don't enjoy them, why bother to have them?

I've decided I am so over taking photographs, such a waste of time which I could have spent enjoying the place I was visiting. I have joyous memories of sitting in the Sierra Nevada, on an unseasonably hot October day, watching the breeze move the golden leaves of poplars against the still-green hills, with a distant tree a solitary blaze of scarlet. I have laughed in disbelief at the pine processional caterpillars I saw up there - no photograph could have captured the sense of the whole ground undulating under these things as they nose-to-tailed in long strings like trains. Bonkers.

I've walked through acres of thyme on headlands above a wine-dark sea, awash with the wonderful scent and with my ears full of the droning of bees. I don't need to have pix, which are always a poor shadowing of reality, because I have this wonderful and very portable thing called - ta dah! - MEMORY!

We celebrated st nicolas tonight, with gifts I bought for dds, dh and myself, and a bagful of gifts my parents bought for us and deposited at our house already a few weeks ago. They joined us on skype when we unpacked. It all went well, 45 minutes of fun unpacking, reading the poems, and finding the gifts in the house/huge box/wrapped pass-the-parcel style. The girls started playing with one gift immediately afterwards until bedtime one hour later.

Then, two hours later, I get a text message from parents: 'was that all?' Turns out I'd left a bag with gifts in the attic! And I thought I was so well-organised! I'll put them in a little pile for the girls to find tomorrow morning.

    Morning all :D
Helped at another Charity Christmas event all day yesterday. The wind was so strong but we had sold out of our Wine or Water game by 3.30pm netting £200 in the process :D

The funny thing is that I noticed how different I have become since KM with buying anything :) I didnt want to look around at the stalls as I dont have any interest in buying a thing :T
Even the stall next door had lovely homemade soaps etc and she was a really lovely young girl. So I would normally of brought just because I felt I should :o But instead I directed all our customers to take a look at her things and made her a few sales in the process ;)

So a grand total of £3 spent on 2 coffees for us ;)

A lovely way to spend a day with a really good friend while doing some good :D

  • Sorry if I'm repeating but did you see she is releasing a new book.

It comes out in January. Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up
  • I seem to have killed the thread with the dramatic news of her new book!:rotfl:

I went through my make up and culled a few things that I don't use. I don't wear much anyway but I need to use everything I have or it is just clutter.:)
  • :hello: It's gone a bit quiet here, is anyone about?

I haven't posted for a while as I had a bout of exhaustion, and then had to catch up on things which didn't get done while I was out of action.

Thank you for the link to the new book missyrichards - I'll have a look out for it.

I had to abandon the Min's Game for a bit (I may try it again next year) as I lost the thread of it, and then found that I couldn't complete sorting the utility room (one of several Spaces of Doom here) as there was nowhere left to unpile things onto for sorting.

Not very MK, but making room for properly organised Kondoing.

On the positive side, though, one bag of assorted Stuff and one of books went to the CS on Saturday, and another boxful is in preparation, plus some more things on fleabay.

But I did recklessly spend a whole £10 on a real potted mini Christmas tree at Wilko's and a set of battery-powered LED lights (which were reduced - already!):xmastree:

I shall have to potter on with things in between Christmas lunches (I have four in the diary so far), wrapping presents and writing cards. I don't expect I'll get a lot done, but will try to do a bit most days.
