Hope to get the chazzer bag off in the next couple of days, going to wait until it stops raining (if it ever does, dammit, knew I shouldn't've given that ark away).

Congrats VJ's Mum, exciting times ahead :j.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Don't worry, there's probably another one in the loft
.
Worryingly, that's perfectly plausible! If necessary we can set sail in the loft and bail with the 'po should it be leaky.
Warming up for the day and hoping to get the big bag of Stuff I prepared yestereve off the premises today. I am ridiculously over-excited to be un-shopping as I call it, far more so than I would be to be inbound shopping. It's great, you go out with stuff dragging on your arms and drop it off, people thank you nicely and you walk off with both a physical and mental weight lifted off you.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

This morning, 2 full binbags of household waste and unrecyclable stuff, 6 boxes of old paper, and 1 crate full of glass jars has left our house. It was the monthly recycling pick-up, and we always have something, but this month it was about double the normal amount, due to clearing out, throwing away, finishing 'bits' in glass jars.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

I'm I unshopping today too GQ.
I love the feeling of handing over the stuff.
The one I use are always grateful for anything.
Unlike some who are far too picky.
I realise that if it is not suitable for selling
The charity get charged for having it taken away.
However it is a chazzer and some just want practilly new stuff.
The local church and adjoining community centre near me
Had a very successful traditional jumble sale last Christmas so
I'm looking out for that this year to donate. They do some marvellous
work there with all age groups. The queue alone for the soup and bun morning is amazing. I know national chazzers need funds but they not half charge a lot in these 'boutique' type shops.
Yes overheads and a salaried manager isn't cheap. However they are getting the stock for nothing. I must admit I love getting the email telling me the amount I've raised”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Morning, Konverts!
Great posts today.
And what brilliant news, VJsmum! Go for it! If you want something badly enough, the woo factor will ensure that all the details come together. :j
Stroking fabrics (and luscious knitting yarn!) must have some psychological root, jinny, which is why we needleworkers end up with stashes! I used to end up with tactile remnants and single skeins of yarn, but now I only buy what I need, when I actually know what to make from it, and have the time to do it!
The Russian dolls will be leaving this morning, after flying from Berlin to Switzerland and then to me, they have to face R Mail again, but they are sure of a welcoming home!
Another couple of books will be dropped off for charity, as well.
I spent last night christening my FMP subscription till very late!Disappointed that that the premium sub does not include the new 1939 Register, but the free search on there, yielded some useful data. Best of all, after 15 years of free genealogy, I have finally connected up 3 large, separate nests of ancestors from around England! :j Now, I have to apply some self-discipline or I shall end up adding to the, as yet, unkondoed paperwork!
Off to my GP appointment, now.
Wishing you all a joyful day! :dance:Needs, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

Congratulations VJsMum exciting changing times for you :T
Well cars getting sorted out and should be back to normal laterNo great expense either the grand total of £22 so cant complain could have been much worse.
The thing that struck me was the kindness of people as we were stuck in the carpark. Loads of offers of help, offers to sit in others cars to keep warm. The manager of the store coming out and asking if we needed a blanket to keep my poor old dog warm
Did manage to kondo some more clothes. It is shocking how many I must have had before MK and like everyone else I dont really remember much of what has goneBut I do know I still have too many so will be an ongoing project
Its a strange one MK as I have changed a great deal and I am sure its for the better well I hope its for the betterI will continue on this journey for life now as I dont believe MK ever finishes if that make sense
The clutter is out of my head I see that tiny kindness or nastiness which I wouldnt have noticed before and I am so grateful to everyone here who are sharing their journeys and the ups and downs which come along with this process
So Thank you to all you kondoites out there your stories help me and others no end so keep going there is light at the end of the tunnel (shame we dont know how long that tunnel is) Think mine has been the Channel tunnel :rotfl:
Have a joyful day

Day 6 on the minimalist website
A month of minimalism is
ENJOY YOUR CLOTHES MORE BY PARING DOWN YOUR WARDROBE.
I have a white rail with 15 white hangers
I have had this since this summer.
I have a capsule wardrobe of colours and fabrics that suit me.
2 dresses, 2 jackets plus one fleece and one cardigan
I hang jeans, leggings and tee shirts
Through lack of drawer space to fold
Colours:
Black
Denim (dark blue)
Pink (cold palette)
Various shades of purple
I haven't had to buy any clothes To add to this
I will just layer for winter
Winter coat, wool hats and gloves from last year, ok
Folded clothing:
Thermals
Underwear
Thick black tights
Socks
Scarves
Pyjamas
Boots one pair of ankle, one pair knee length
Sandals one trekking off road pair, one dress pair
1 pair flat ballet pumps
One small going out leather bag
One everyday cross body bag
That's it I have managed all summer with that
It all fits and mix n matches
If anyone notices I wear the same things,
That's their problem, don't care.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Well Done VJsMUM
Spot on, IQueen, on needleworkers stashes. The tactileness (is there such a word) of yarn, wool, fabric is what gets me. My stash is getting bigger, but the problem is it all brings me JOY....
Jinny - your capsule wardrobe is wonderful, I have had several goes at my wardrobe but an ongoing project methinks, but probably will never get it down to your level.
Thanks to everyone here, reading it gives me lots of pleasure.0 -
Congratulations, VJsMum, very best wishes!
jinny your wardrobe sounds great!
Min's Game Day 6
- 2 left-hand old rubber gloves
- packaging from kitchen scales bought 2013
- bag from posh jeweller's (the sort you keep because "it's too good to throw away, it'll come in for something")
- assortment of rags kept for cleaning - I have more than I'll every use!
- 3 worn-out face-flannels (demoted to cleaning rags)
- 2 holey and worn-out old floor-cloths (formerly hand-towels) - (I suspect they have killed themselves rather than face another winter of mopping pawfuls of mud off the kitchen floor)
Thought for today - and everyday while this task lasts - "dear oh dear oh dear, where does all this appalling junk come from? "“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️
Decluttering 2025 💐 🏅 💐 ⭐️0 -
Well, it crossed my mind to take the dogs and a few essentials (essential essentials, not just junk essentials!) and walk away from the house forever.
Then I thought, why not put the barest essentials - if even that - in storage, and get a houseclearer to come and empty the place? And start again afresh with just the minimum.
But I'm not yet quite brave enough ....“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️
