For all those of you with yarn stashes, I hope you're aware that Christmas is on the way, and everyone you know needs a knitted garment (or six) for christmas.
I'm sure there are charities that will take hand-knitted items too. Homeless shelters apparently ALWAYS need socks (I save my airline socks for them), and the Rucksack project always suggests including socks, hats, scarves, gloves, jumpers and underwear (not sure about knitted underwear) in rucksacks for the homeless.
People NEED your yarn. Just not in it's current format. So get knitting0 -
That's what most of my yarn stash is for greenbee, I knit for the local prem unit and send quite a few blankets Nd scarves off to various good causes. Lots of my fabric stash is being Kondoed into the bead bags for the local hospital children's cancer ward.
Just that this time of year family commitments seem to take over, I've got so many friends and family producing babies it's hard to keep up knitting for them at the mo.
One neighbour has just had a baby born too soon in the family so I'm using my hospital patterns to knit some hats etc for their little 3lb addition.
Sitting writing Christmas cards and wrapping at the mo so when my friend arrives I can kondo stuff onto her. Yes I know we shouldn't do that but it saves giving Royal Mail money when she can take it away herself.
Have a joyful weekend allSPC~12 ot 124

I work in the local Hospice CS in a small town on the Essex coast. Today I sold a horse with a wonky leg, (1 leg longer than the other if straightened) together with the cart and barrels. £3.50p bargain and I wondered if it was someone from this thread who had donated it.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0

Sadly the one I mentioned identical to what you are describing is still in mils attic. Glad some are being released into new homes where hopefully they will bring joy as well as much needed funds to the CS or various good causes.SPC~12 ot 124

Very excited for you VJ's mum.
Mins game day 6
6 x audio cassettes - been having a giggle at these as they're all late 70s early 80s and some were recorded off the radio so the sound quality is terrible as they also spent a lifetime sitting in hot sun or freezing temperatures in previous cars.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Ocean spirit, you've reminded me we have a couple of racks of cassettes in the attic, they may be Kondoed when we next cull up there.
Just Kondoed all my food colourings, I had five bottles and the most recent had a bbe of 2012, the oldest was bbe 2005!
Moving the drive about yesterday to assist the alarm man has resulted in a few bits being Kondoed off there.SPC~12 ot 124

Maybe I'll find the weigh loss MK when I get further along the journey
not much kondo-ing today, too much to sort out for parents, although i did help dad write to an old friend and i made sure the letter went straight into the post because stuff does tend to hang round here if not dealt with immediately......
not had time, or been given permission to kondo the pantry but i can reveal that nestling very close to the very OOD bbq sauce was ( wait for it) a puncture repair kit. Oh yes. The last bike anywhere near parents was my brother's, which he ditched about 25 years and one house move ago :rotfl:
Tomorrow we are travelling for a few hours, then overnight stay, before continuing journey home on Sunday. Weather forecast is poor so am not looking forward to it. Am feeling fed up that I won't have any serious kondo time until next weekend. I'll be a bit happier if I can get the dvd's done on Tuesday eve(have a very long working day Monday so not planning anything much for mknday evening!)
have a good evening everyone,

Glad to see everyone doing well on their kondo-ing. Today I loved hearing about Jinny's capsule wardrobe. A good day to day with good news about the treatment plans for a family member.

jinny - No no! please take your coat off and have a :coffee:
Your kind suggestion about the M@rigolds is great, and I appreciate it very much - but ... I already have 2 actual pairs of not-quite-waterproof ones in the gardening-gloves punnet (rolled up, too!). It's keeping things which "might come in useful if I only make a slight adjustment" which got me where I am - which is in komono hell
I think it's genetic: my Dad used to keep jars full of bent nails "for straightening" - some of the jars had the nails in oil to get rid of the rust first ...“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️
