Well my wardrobe is fine for me as I am now retired
And go casual most days.
I don't know if that would've been adequate if I was still working.
I don't go out socially that much either now.
I have 'scruffs' I wear when cleaning
I didn't include them.
Remember it isn't a race. It will take time.
This is just a flat not a house.
I sleep in a small bedroom
so not much space just a bed, a clothes rail
and a bedside cabinet/dressing table
I love small spaces luckily.
Plus I'm retired so have more time to kondo”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Jinny, I also wear the same clothes often and for years ( iykwim). My small niece is the only one who has commented to my face! When I visited her house she looked me up and down and said, 'Auntie M, you were wearing that top last time you came.' I agreed and congratulated her on both memory and observational skills.
My DH made a consious decision not to buy any new shirts and ties at least 18 months before he gave up office work and he took great pleasure in mentioning the reason why as he counted down the days to becoming self-employed!
I did make good progress on kondo-ing clothes but will re-visit. It is my hardest category and I know that is because I am not happy with my wardrobe, too many random items, bought when
needs must rather than being carefully chosen, and not all fit (another thing to de-clutter, excess weight! Hmmm, imagine if MK wrote a joyful weight loss book..)

My wardrobe is pretty much kondoed. There are a few items there that I'm gathering the courage to wear; they are a bit more outspoken than I usually wear. A few skirts are above-knee, where I usually wear over-knee; a few shirts have a lower neckline than I would usually wear; etc. Whenever I do wear these items, I get a lot of compliments, but I only wear them when I feel confident and safe.
I would never wear them around my former boss, but she got fired last christmasand that still feels like a victory for me. I'm glad the overlords decided to kondo her. My new boss is lovely, and I feel a lot more confident and safe, so the 'new' clothes are likely to get a lot more wear.

Blue Doggy, that's how The Minimalists bloggers started!
They just packed everything up in boxes and only got items out, when/if they were needed. Later, they discarded everything left in the boxes.
I'd have a breakdown, just getting the Stuff boxed up - let alone trying to find anything in the boxes afterwards!
I'm going to do some psychological delving into strokable stashes.
I never used to have a stash problem, until a friend (with a high quality stash-and-a-half!) moved house, and was decanting her yarns into a skip! Yep, I ended up receiving 2 massive cardboard cartons of yarn! And guess what? Yes, 6 years later, I still have most of it! I've been saving it for garments 'worthy' of its squishy loveliness!!!
A fortnight ago, I made a very rare visit to my LYS (local yarn shop) for 2 baby buttons. I came out with the buttons... and a ball of kidsilk for GD1's coming-home-bonnet. BUT, I also, paid RRP for a ball of white Snuggly 3ply! WHY? I already have a pack of 10! And don't talk to me of the zillions of balls of sock-wool that have been kindly gifted to me - I already have 6 pairs of socks that I've knitted, and are 'too good to wear'!
This really needs analysing. Surely, a bag of half a dozen skeins of exotic yarns should be sufficient to satisfy a cuddle addiction? Instead of 6 sacks of the stuff, slowly dying in storage?
I will not collect more yarn. I will not collect more yarn. I WILL NOT COLLECT MORE YARN!
Well, the Russian Gals are in the hands of RM, and will be journeying to their new hame at 16:15.
Ooo, I can see some RC under my armchair - a Sudoku book and 2 ancient newspapers. Shhh, they are going the moment I get off my BTM!
Like the other 2 posters, I USED to save left-handed M@rigolds, until I realised that I would never pair them up and use them! :rotfl:
Oh, jinny, I wish that I could get by on your capsule wardrobe! I'm in the same position - retired, few social occasions, and none, demanding velvet dresses, long gloves, or chapeaux. However, I have to wear full Polar gear to wash-up!:rotfl:
Right, the under-chair RC is going... NOW!
Oh, iTwin, do you think your clothing re-visits are MK's revenge for your completing kondoing in a fortnight?

It is a weight loss book though
I am steadily slowly dropping the pounds
Slow but sure and effortlessly where I've failed in the past.
Like others have found on here changes happen
When we dump the junk.

Siebrie, my DD1, a tiny size 6, is at the top of the ladder in Financial Management, in one of the top companies in the FTSE 100. A man's world.
She told me: you don't have to be confident, to look confident. And if you appear confident, you will become confident.
By appearing confident, your colleagues believe that you are, and treat you accordingly. This, in turn, generates genuine self-confidence in you. :j

Could you not turn the left hand marigold inside out?”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

You enabler, you!
Just got back from the chazzer where I offloaded a big primarche paper bag of donations. Naughtily, I have come back with a DVD for £1, a book for £1.49 and a new workbag for £2.99.
The first two will be enjoyed and re-donated, the other was badly-needed. The things you cart about every day have a shorter life than the rarely-used items - funny that.:rotfl:
Feeling a bit cream-crackered due to a thoughtless get outside on the street who woke the neighbourhood at 03.40. And I was soooo beautifully asleep before that time, the s*d.
I am going through the contents of my workbag to see if they can be rationalised and made smaller and lighter (yes) so that my daily carry will be simplified. I'm finding simplicity calling to me more and more.
Hokay, my lovelies, onwards and upwards, I need to declutter some yarn into my blanket project and some tea down my neck.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I'm still waiting for the weight-loss miracle, but I've Kondoed the bathroom scales so I may not know when it begins! :rotfl: I'm aware that I am eating more healthily though since I Kondoed the cupboards and did an inventory of the freezer.
I too have thought about saving left-hand gloves, but they feel all wrong if they're inside out. I'm in favour of not wasting stuff, but some things are just not meant to be kept. Yarn, on the other hand ... I've successfully stopped myself from buying any more. I do need to reduce the stash a bit, though.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. iQueen there isn't really anywhere to put boxes but it's a lovely idea.
I so know the feeling of Stuff which is "too good to use" - but that (and turning left-hand M@rigolds inside out- jinny) is how we get into these pickles. I experienced the feeling after I'd Kondo'd my clothes and had to wear something around the house that wasn't really really old and possibly on the tatty side
