Well the paperwork has still not progressed any further ...

However, I have kondoed 3 x sliding wardrobe doors to a lovely lady from Freecycle; a washing tub full of sweeties to the trick or treaters; a pair of trousers that no longer fit me to my sister; a dow egbert jar to my niece; some weight watchers magazines to my SIL; left over beef casserole to the dog for his dinner and the last remaining shot of vodka into the glass of vodka and coke that I am now sipping :j

Have managed to KM a load of party bag fillers and unwanted young jewellery (unworn freebies from magazines - bracelets and rings) to the trick or treaters tonight - win/win - I get rid of unwanted items (and I can keep the few sweets I bought - my lot will eat them) and the little witches seemed delighted with their treasures! :D

Not much happening from me today, but did get to the tip with three plastic duple boxes that were in the loft... empty. A large cardboard box and it's polystyrene packaging.

    Still working on the paperwork...
  • Congrats Igamogam, we Kondoed the mortgage a couple of years ago which left OH with the opportunity to go back to college for a degree.

Today I have kondoed the two drawers in the bookcase which contain many leads. I have chucked out all the leads that havent been out of the plastic and two chargers for phones we no longer have. Also trying to get rid of cards which are a sticking point of mine. Ive put loads in a plastic bag as Im not sure if they can go in the recycling. May chuck them all in the christmas card bag.

Im still trying to get OH to tidy the study. He is open to the idea of me taking everything on the floor out but Im not sure where I can put it. We have built in shelves for all his books but they are on the floor as he is continually buying more. Hoping he can Kondo more books but it is a work in progress.

  • Really enjoying tales from the crypt I mean GQs parent loft. Some seriously terrifying stuff up there. Other half has managed to sell some stuff on ebay and it was collected today so that's one big box gone.

Lots of sweets kondoed here as well although kids end up bringing almost as many back in with them.

Either GQ's parents have a working tardis in their loft, or it's the gateway to another dimension...

Congratulations Igamogam :D It is a great feeling :) Bye bye Mortgage

Loving the loft of doom finds.Thinking of you crawling around with the head torch on GQ. I wonder what treasures will appear today ?

Dolls house (shed ) Was completely sorted out and loads kondoed on Friday due to a rat, a chewed door frame and a cricket bat  Its just too early to go into and most of you wont have had your breakfast yet ;)

So that is a good job and I have decided I am not ever going to store one thing again ever. I cant see the point.A wicker dogs bed he wouldnt go in it the first time so why did I think he ever would. He didnt like the creaking noise as he got in.So why would he in the future?

Anyway its all sorted out now I am going to redo the garage today as I am bl**dy sick of stuff being put in there that we will never ever use and most of it has died in storage.

The shirehorse is lurking in there  Maybe today is the day it finally wobbles off with its one leg longer than the others. Out of my life and my thoughts :o

Hello all, I've been reading all your posts on this fab thread for a while, and I thought I should say hello.

I moved house earlier in the year, and prior to that got rid of a lot of stuff (I'm not sure how many times the car boot was filled, emptied, filled, etc) to various places, but there's still work to do! We've moved two houses into one, so there was a lot of duplication, and I'm still going through it all. I bought the book just after moving, and when unpacking clothes (that had already been 'sorted out') managed to fill a couple of chazzer bags, whilst OH looked on in amazement. I made sure i'd got to the chapter on books, before unpacking the vast quantity I'd brought with me (again, after a sort out). About a third got put in boxes and taken to the book shop where I volunteer. That wouldn't have happened pre MK. And I know I'm only repeating what others have said, but it does change your way of thinking, and how you shop.

I've still got a fair way to go, paperwork etc, but I'm in a different mindset now, and am almost looking forward to it!

Thank you for all your inspiration, particularly the random lists, and forays into lofts!
