Wow - that's 496 if my maths is right.
Mending generated a proper Kondo of sewing box - looking much more tidy now and I found a couple of things to add to the work box I have got DGD8 for Christmas. The last item is the book I have been recording all my targets etc since February -full up so new book ruled up to start November. I think I will carry on recording numbers of items discarded but not details. May post next hundred items when reached. Mins game again in February. Need to get back on the weight loss wagon as I have fallen off. I was first at RC centre this morning with 6 lots of stuff. Plastic bag through door yesterday for Age Concern who take things other than clothes so I will be able to put that out on Thursday. Still more paper and photos to Kondo but Mins has been valuable exercise.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Afternoon all.
Well, we were out as a family visting Nan from 08.00 to 15.00 and the folks didn't want me starting the loft this afternoon. But I wanted to and was determined to make a start. Plus I knew you lot were waiting...:o
Beforehand, Mum nearly made me PMSL by saying that I wouldn't make it into a muddle, would I? Pointed out that if I stood in the centre of the loft and threw things at random at the points of the compass, it couldn't possibly be any more of a muddle than it is already. Whereupon she grinned and conceded the point.
So, went up there with the headtorch on (perfect tool for the loft or the really deep cupboard or shed btw) and started dragging out some of the worst offenders. It's all completely random but this is truly what has been barfed out of the loft already:
3 texturising paint rollers, which had disintegrated in a bag into crunchie-type sticky orange crumbs - binned. And the crumbs picked out of the good stuff inc the wallpaper brush and an unused fake sheepskin roller.
Box from Dad's pooter - recycled. Box from Bro's monitor - ditto. Polystrene packaging from both of these plus a mystery 3rd appliance - binned. 10 shirts - donatiion. Thermos insulated freezer bag (chazzer), huge bag of bubblewrap - into use. Wire and bottle brush style branches from the main part of the Xmas tree which was decluttered several years ago - binned. But it gets even more random.....
Some turned wooden stand & legs which may belong to 'the blue thing' as Dad refers to the dress form. Or they may belong to another dress form which has since departed. Mum doesn't know and attempted assemblage will be the only way to find out. Will have to bring the blue one down to try it for size and can't even see it atm for yarn.
The metal stand for the 1970s Dalek-style sit under hairdryer (to go to the tip) - dryer bit to go also (up there, not presently visible).
Small box of ornaments wrapped in newspaper dated Friday 25th October 1996. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!!
Hiking boot box with 3 quart Thermos flask refills. Bag holding two part-used rolls of anaglypta-knockoff type wallpaper, large plastic bag full of tubbyware, a separate bag of assorted lids (look like Vitalite marg tub lids to me). Plus a bag of about 8 A4 vinyl folders.
And putting the cupcake on the Weird S**t for the afternoon is .... wait for it..... a 3 inch tall turned wood knob, shaped a bit like a dome on a russian cathedral, with a screw thread protruding from the bottom. In another house, it could be the finial from the bottom post of a bannister rail. I think it may be thr top part of the dress form, but who can know? It was inside the 'po. As were two plastic funnels and a dead spider.
I haven't seen the dining table (wouldn't have fitted through the hatch, anyways) but will keep an eye out for anything else you may have lost. We do have an oak drop leaf table in the sitting-room. I know where it is - approx - but it is in one of the canyons of boxes.

Started to have a bit of a shufty in DD1s room - she only comes home for high days and holidays now and DD2 is looking for some old A level notes that may be of use. I do have permission to jettison stuff but feel maybe she needs to have one last look at some things before they go so she has promised she will have a sort through when she is home for Christmas. I will send her some pictures so she can decided on things like clothes and shoes..............already got a pile of stuff that has permission go ( her cuddlies this time!) and some obvious rubbish - part used toiletries and some books. I will box up the rest after giving it all a good dust so she can take it from there when she is home next. Hadnt really intended to start this but I want to put some Ebay stuff in there so its not cluttering up our bedroom ! And tonight I will do listing whilst watching Strictly!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Thank you.
I have rootled around in just one small under-eave section of The Loft, haven't even dared to look at the rest of it.
The Mystery Knob was taken downstairs and positively ID'd as the knob off the top of the giant sun parasol which belongs above the table that there isn't room for on the patio since the extension was built and can't be got rid of Because. Just wanted to clear that up.:p
Took down the plastics and now have a nesting set of squarish no-brand plastic boxes for batch cooking for the freezer and another couple of things, one of which is an actual branded Tubbyware - woo! These can go in the cupboard at home to par-tay with the Lock&Locks. I had a lot of placcy stuff die on me in the past few months and am a bit deficient in the stuff to put stuff in the freezer. The Vitalite lids are now in the recycling bin.
Mum is ensconced downstairs in an armchair with the cat on her lap and has told me to go away so she can concentrate on reading a book called Stuff............:rotfl:
ETA; GQ to Kid Bruv a couple of hours ago; Look, this box is for your monitor and it went up the loft in June 2009. Do you want it kept, yes or no?
*two or three seconds silence*
GQ ; the correct answer is 'no'.
KB; No.

Well I am gutted. I have been waiting all week for DD3 to move out and in with DD1. But no! Today DD1 turns up with all her stuff as house move has had to be put on hold for another week. So not only do I not release DD3s stuff to a different house but I have to have DD1s stuff, DD1 (seriously messy mare) and the dog. My 2 cats are going to go mad and I have no idea where she will sleep.
Love them all to bits but I had just persuaded other half to start thinking about decorating. It has got so bad that a workman thought that our back room was the garage because of how messy it looks.
Thanks for letting me rant.De cluttering Konvert.Getting there

Sounds fab, I'm definitely going to check out the book. I've tried some of the folding successfully after seeing it on Goop so think the other principles are worth a try at least. xBlogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0
