Not quite sure how many towels I have. Currently 3 in bathroom. Rest on DD 's bedroom floor. It will be very strange when she moves out in a couple of weeks. I will have towels as well as a tidy house.

Yay, I love the counting games.

    Linens...
Two matching sets of linen for our bed, rotated each wash
One set of guest linen (don't have guests enough to need spares)

    Towels...
Two sets each for DH and I (bath sheet, bath towel, hand towel and two flannels per set)
One set of guest towels (same)
Hand towels for bathroom sink (four total)
Hand towels for kitchen sink (three)

So that's 10 full size towels, 12 hand towels and 10 flannels in a 2 person household. And I didn't count any of the dish towels and cleaning rags, or the towels that the cat stole to use as windowsill beds.

    Towels...:o

3 x sets for our bathroom (bath sheet, bath towel, hand towel & flannels), 2 x sets for guest bathroom. We have 2 double spare rooms and often have 2 couples to stay so need different towels for them.

Morning all :D I cant believe how well everyone is doing.

Mins game today is going to be tough but will see what I can do will have to check out the box where I have been dropping a few things but wanted to keep those until later in the month :o As I am going to really really struggle.

I am eyeing up bedding as have 2 sets that I am not sure about :D

How many bedding sets does everyone have for just your bed ? I have 6 but only 3 fitted sheets and I am thinking 6 is far to many
Look forward to hearing if you have more or less x

2 complete sets for each bed. 4 pillows and 1 duvet on each bed. 10 all white bath towels for bathroom. 4 hand towels for cloakroom. No other linen except tea cloths (8) in the house.

    Hi Kondoites :D
uk_american I am so impressed with you :T 1 bedding set  You would be top of our leaders class ;) I think I would panic if I just had one so respect to you. Also loving the Summer camp story at that price yes they can afford to leave a towel behind.

I now have 4 bed sets as I kondoed 2 today so pleased with the extra space I have got in that drawer.
Talking of towels I only have 2 x bath sheets (but small ones) not big and fluffy :( a bit carp as I think about it and not at all joyful ! 2 x matching bath towels (same as the above) and also used for swimming and 2 x mini hand towels (same as above) All in a boring Grey colour and thinking about it I will be replacing all these carp towels.

My dog has a towel called Dolphin and its a lot better quality than ours :rotfl:

Next question.Where is the best place to buy nice quality towels please ? As I will be replacing all mine very very shortly. ;)

Been MIA for two weeks so lots of catching up to do. My bed line s certainly need sorting as I have far too many pillowcases. The only named towels I have are a freebee that DH was given emblazoned with Southern Comfort and a small orange one that 'appeared' with an embroidered green leaf that looks suspiciously like a certain banned plant! I use it as a gym towel - suggestions for a name welcomed!

  • Mavvymoo - I'm a committed John Lewis fan, you need to get good quality Egyptian cotton with a high thread count. I don't like soft, velour-type towels, I like them a bit rough and I never use fabric conditioner. Not cheap but good towels will last for years. I usually wait for sales.

I'll be interested to hear where other people get their towels, though.

Some of mine are Sainsbugs (bought by DH before I moved in) some are Dun€lm and some are Debenhams (wedding gift card shopping). A couple of sets have been dyed to suit the re-done bathroom (couldn't bear pastel pink in a grey/white/honey bathroom!).

I would have a look at Sainsbugs & A$da - their home ranges have very nice Egyptian cotton towels at rather good prices.

:) I like rough towels, too, and wouldn't give fab con houseroom, filthy stuff IMO.

Most of my towels were bought secondhand at chazzers and bootfairs, truly fine quality towels with no signs of wear, which must have been rejected because someone was re-doing their colour scheme. Their loss is my gain. Mum does the same. I slightly-covet the bath sheet she got for £2 - I don't use this size of towel but this one is such a wonderfully deep spruce green that I might be prepared to give it houseroom.

As a family, we have bought D3benhams towels, or towels which were destined for D's until they turned out slightly imperfect and were sold on as seconds. And Mum has one of their towelling bathrobes which is 20+ years old and still in very good condition.

:o Thinking about it, I've never actually bought a 'new' towel in a shop. I have bought 'as new' towels and had a couple of new-new handtowels as gifts, but never actually bought new ones. And I have a cupboard full of excellent quality towels (some with names! And embroidery!) and the most I ever paid was £1 for TROPICAL.:rotfl:

Some great ideas on towels thank you everyone. I am going to start my hunt for some new towels. Mine are rough which I like:D But they are quite thin and bleached stained here and there.and just plain dull.:o

mins game is going to be a really big struggle from now on.I cant think of anything at the moment which needs to be kondoed so will have a hunt around later.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
iTwin hope all is ok with you :)
