The KonMarie method

I was at a friend's house this evening - and kept wondering where I could look in for the mins game tomorrow! My friends think I'm mad. I'll happily be mad if it means I get to be serene too
*looks around thoughtfully*:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Out - two toddlers, all the clutter they brought with them and a pumpkin. Plus half a bottle of wine to recover...
To be fair, they did remove all the thistles from my garden and pick up all the windfall apples, so they did come in useful.
VJs mum - very envious of the packing. I find it's my work shoes, gym kit and suits that cause the problem, so as I'm taking hold baggage I minimise the hand luggage - which at least means when I'm at the back of the plane I have everything I need under the seat in front.
LOL - at the Kondoing of 2 toddlers, a whole month's worth of mess there, i reckon :rotfl:
I admit that if i wore suits it would be a different story. My male colleagues always have much bigger suitcases because of the need for suits and proper shoes. I usually have a pair of shoes (JIC ) but found I was wearing them only cause I had brought them when, in fact, it is fine for me to wear sandals. So I didn't bother this time.
5 hours sleep on one plane and 10 hours last night means I feel fit and raring to go.......
There won't be any Kondoing from me for the next two weeks (except for a pile of work magazines I shall read and discard as I go along) but I shall read along with interest.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Morning all.
Well, worked on my minsgame in the evening (mainly working on it by finishing the book I was readling, lol) but I got there in the end.
11th October – perished elastic band - binned, worn out sponge scourer- binned, just-finished book – donation bag, pen, candle in glass (wax saved, glass recycled), travel clothesline, travel mug, gooey correction fluid (binned), seedcase from exotic tree, returned to tree it fell off, hank of tapestry wool (to pal), handful receipts (shredded).
Dunno what (if anything) I can find to eject from the household today, but I'll give it some thought among the rest of the work and play.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Good morning, everyone!
I haven't posted for a couple of days, as there's been an attack of RL, and the dogs thought it was important to walk in the woods in the sunshine.
Still plodding through paperwork - hugs to everyone else who is struggling with this category, it's a toughie, especially when there's a quarter of a century's worth to get through. I'm finding the Min's Game challenge is good for keeping my morale up as I can say to myself that even if I'm bogged down in one place I can still achieve something in another.
So here's two days' worth of catch-up:
Day 10:
1 Most of a packet of dog chews which had made one of mine sick
2-5 3 free newspapers
6-8 3 magazines
9 1 bag of thin plastic films - to collection point in supermarket
10 1 collection of dead batteries - to battery recycling
Day 11:
1-11 11 magazines (part of the "Find the Kitchen Table" project!! I haven't seen the table since last November ).“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

:rotfl:mine is like that, it can go missing for months at a time and rarely fully reveals itself. One day we WILL tame these unruly tables;)SPC~12 ot 124

I cant believe how well everyone is doing.
Mins game today is going to be tough but will see what I can do will have to check out the box where I have been dropping a few things but wanted to keep those until later in the monthAs I am going to really really struggle.
I am eyeing up bedding as have 2 sets that I am not sure about
How many bedding sets does everyone have for just your bed ? I have 6 but only 3 fitted sheets and I am thinking 6 is far to many.
Look forward to hearing if you have more or less x

Mavvymoo - I have 4 sets for my bed - reduced from 8 pre Kondo. There are also 2 for my spare room - one on bed and one in drawer in spare room. This gives me plenty for bed changes, accidents and to use 1 or 2 blow up beds for visitors if I get a crowd.
I have 6 single sets to cover a range of DGC visitors who are more inclined to have middle of night accidents!2025 Decluttering Campaign 784/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

I have three double-bed sets for my bed, but sometimes I use a double duvet on a single bed in the spare room for guests, as it's a very cold room.
I have two single bed sets, and then some spare single sheets. While technically I could sleep five people in the house (one double, three singles) I rarely have more than two guests staying at any one time, and there's time to wash and dry them before I have guests again. I reckon 'one to wash, one to wear' is usually enough for beds in daily use. I can well recall the days when I couldn't afford a second set and had to wash and dry in one day ...Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone.
