    Hi mav

I have summer and winter sheets - poly cotton and brush cotton and pillow cases in same - but only 2 duvet covers for our bed.

I have a spare double duvet set for visitors so could use that if needed.

I have 4 sets for our bed - 2 light coloured which are used in Summer and 2 darker coloured - which are now in use! :D

Dd has 2 sets, DS2 2 sets, DS1 3 sets and DS3 1 set (but rarely sleeps in his own bed). I have more fitted single sheets than I do duvet sets - for accidents and I find that the boys wreck them (indelible pens, scissors......)

Morning all :D I cant believe how well everyone is doing.

Mins game today is going to be tough but will see what I can do will have to check out the box where I have been dropping a few things but wanted to keep those until later in the month :o As I am going to really really struggle.

I am eyeing up bedding as have 2 sets that I am not sure about :D

How many bedding sets does everyone have for just your bed ? I have 6 but only 3 fitted sheets and I am thinking 6 is far to many.

Look forward to hearing if you have more or less x

I have 2 sets for each bed (all doubles or 3/4) plus two spare.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • I have 3 sets for my bed, plus an extra fitted sheet and an unfitted top sheet. I like pure cotton bedding as polycotton irritates my skin - don't like the third set and am wanting to get rid, but struggle at times to get them washed in time. So am keeping the thin and awkward cotton set till I can find a joyful replacement, or save up enough for a lovely high thread count set. It's def a luxury in happy to pay for

  • I've been looking for a while for this blog, which dates from a few years back - I don't think MK's book had been published in the West at that point but this lady definitely used the MK approach. Sadly she doesn't seem to be blogging any more as I really enjoyed her posts - there is a lot of interesting stuff on here about decluttering, organising and generally not letting Stuff (or lack of it) stop you living life to the full, but the kitchen purge really struck a chord. Thought it might be useful to anyone else on this journey.

Thanks for that.:) I like to look at the photos she put on there of her home.

  • I have 3 duvet sets for our bed and 2 duvet sets for Junior. However I have a number of spare bedsheets and some fitted sheets that don't fit. I am using them to learn to sew (as spare fabric to practice on). Is re-purposing acceptable when Kondoing?

  • I have only one set, but I have the convenience that I work from home so can plan my laundry around good outside drying days.

I especially like when everything comes off the line it seems so fresh that I decided not to have a backup set in the cupboard as it's never as nice as when it comes just off the line.

I have a few odd blankets and a sheet and pillow for hosting occasional guests on my couch, and could bring out the sleeping bag if it came to it with multiple guests.
  • :rotfl:mine is like that, it can go missing for months at a time and rarely fully reveals itself. One day we WILL tame these unruly tables;)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I wouldn't mind so much if it was just the kitchen table, but the dining-room table is mostly lost under heaps of "current" paperwork, except for one corner where I can sit to eat. And the little folding card table I put beside it work on is also covered with a semi-permanent layer of litter!

However, one day I shall see them all ;).

Today's Min's Game (all from the kitchen table!)

    3 free newspapers
    4 magazines
    2 items for shredding
1 catalogue which was inside a magazine
1 cash receipt (one day I'll get back to recording what I spend)
1 business card dated 16/9/2014 which I'll never follow up.

BTW, the Poinsettia cutting which was a Min's Game failure on day 9 has perked up and is appreciating its narrow escape from bin-dom :).

Bedding: I have three sets: "one on, one off and one in the wash" - I do like a nicely-ironed pair of sheets, and find that having 3 sets give me enough flexibility to achieve it. Guest beds have one set each, as not so many overnight visitors.

  • I culled my airing cupboard again the other day so now I only have two king size duvet sets and I wash one while I'm using the other.

I have a couple of warm blankets for when it gets very cold.

I'm going to start using a microfibre cloth for my face so hopefully I won't need to buy a facial scrub. :)

I have been trying to get more minimalist with my 'beauty' routine, such as it is, as I'm already quite low maintenance.:D

    hi all.
since getting new double bed for dgs I only have 2 sets bedding (minnions for summer and check flannelette for winter). My kingsize has 2 winter duvets and 2 complete sets for summer, plus 1 duvet cover never had matching pillowcases just use my white ones as spare.
I did kondo at least 3 king duvet sets and all single sets not too long ago!
tbh 1 of my winter sets is from q#c and I don't really like it  but am putting up with it till I can afford to replace it as it was expensive, only joy it gives is that it's warm.
i do have many white pillow cases.oops! (sidles away in shame)
