Good evening everyone!
Min's game continues - I was too exhausted yesterday to post anything, so here's yesterday's and today's.
Day 8:
2 free newspapers (recycling)
1 very large lampshade (CS)
1 very out-of-date credit card (bin)
1 boxful of cash receipts (bin)
1 large handful of pay-and-display car parking tickets (bin)
1 bag of glass jars (bottle bank)
1 expired AA card (years out-of-date, too!)
Day 9:
1 piece of mail for next door (delivered wrongly)
4 magazines (recycling)
1 alphabet card (CS)
1 children's alphabet book (CS)
1 very large spider () (dumped in hedgerow across the road)
1 piece of paper with web site details - so old the website is defunct!
PLUS 1 FAILURE - I had intended to throw out the rather straggly Poinsettia I grew from a piece which broke off last year's Christmas one. It's been on the kitchen windowsill all year and even managed some red bracts (:T) but was looking sorry for itself. When I took it out of its pot I could see some new leaf buds just starting, so I repotted it into the pot from the bathroom geranium I binned last week.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Evening all
I am really impressed with the mins game entries - and a little relieved that it isn't just me....
I am still finding random carp, I am currently packing to go away to Hong Kong and Singapore and, in packing toiletries, have found all sorts - face wash with microbeads (i am eschewing micro beads going down the plug, therefore binned), a sink In moisture mask (whatever in heck that is), some highlighting liquid for eyes (years out of date and going nowhere near my eyes (bin), some shaving balm that none of the men folk have ever used.
OH found a cd of work photos that he was happy to let go ()
All in all, I am finding the house much easier to keep tidy and packing has been a breeze - in my carry on bag, for two weeks. I have 5 bottoms, 7 tops and 2 cardies, 1 dress, sandals and plimsolls. I still think I have overpacked ....:oI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
We didn't get to the charity shop because it was closed due to a security alert. Did get housework done and used some things from cupboard rather than buying even more.0

Morning all.
Wow, am running behind on the forums, haven't really online for 48 hours, combination of busyness and tiredness ( I work on a PC and don't always feel up to boggling at a screen after work).
Heh, I had a great long list of discards on my desk, which I itemised as I disposed of, thinking that this would be plenty for Days 9 and 10 and it's only just sufficient for yesterday! I shall have to get cracking. I'm also going to pop up to the allotment in an hour or two to harvest beetroot, so will have a rummage in the lottie shed whilst up there, to see if anything else needs to be hiffed outta there.
9th October – 1 OOD voucher for 50p, a booklet, a large white paper bag, a toothmug, small tube hair conditioner, sachet of shampoo, a worn out pencil, handful of receipts shredded and a lib book back.Have only got one thing mentally tagged for today, I must do harder. I knew this wouldn't be easy and that I'd be copping out before the end of the month, but I had hoped to get a little further along......:p
You're all doing so well, I'm proud to be with you in minsgame. Loving GrannyKate's hiding of the discards under boring stuff in the garage to prevent rootling.:rotfl:
Oh, and kondo-ing must be catching; the parental shopping trolley which died last Weds is slated to take part in a tip run on Monday. With it will go some stuff from their shed (they have three sheds) inc a section of countertop which has been hoarded for 25+ years(!). Dad found it, and some other stuff to discard, when clearing space to put their garden furniture away for the season. I'm gobsmacked; even asked if Mum (hoarder in chief) had cleared this as OK, and she has.
I honestly never thought I'd live to see the day............Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Have been away too long.........RL too busy and OH stressing and getting organised for his 'trip of a lifetime ' Anyway he has been kondoed, temporarily, for 3 maybe 5 weeks so I plan a big clear out of DD1 room which is technically a spare room now - will send her photos of stuff so she can decide whether she wants to keep - hasn't really lived here for 3 years now so its about time! DD2 has plans to use room to study in as she finds her own 'too distracting '! !Also going to hit our office/ study and box up all of OH's carp, get rid of more of my work stuff and gave a general good old 'bottoming' as my Nan would say, of the whole house.........an Autumn Clean
I have been taking bits and bobs to charity shop whilst I have been 'off air' and have sold some stuff making about £200........all good:)
Have decided not to read the 10 or so pages I have missed of this fab thread. As inspirational, thought provoking and funny as I know it will be, life us just too short! However I have picked up some themes : carrier bags.......I really dont remember the same fuss here that it seems to have created in England. Here you pay for bag whatever you are buying regardless how big shop is.l did think "Oh no. What will I line bins with now."and stashed some carriers which perished eventually. Life didn't end. I now buy them on a roll - cheaper than a carrier bag; )
Household waste collection : we have a very simple service here. All recycling is collected every week. Large brown wheelie for garden waste. Small brown wheelie for food waste. Three blue boxes on a handy trolley for paper/ glass, metal, plastic. Council will also take textiles and batteries. Large green wheelie for non recyclable stuff, collected once a month - new thing just started. Was once a fortnight. TBH for last 2 years we have put our green bin out once a month as it wasnt worth dragging it up to the lane with very little in it.IMHO the problem of household waste lies squarely with the manufacturers and producers who use too much packaging and the consumer buying too much over packaged food, amongst other things. One last thing, if we had small children in nappies we would be using washables - modern versions are fab.
Oooh sorry. Got a bit ranty:o Right off to kondo about 4 inches off my hair then I will be back to tackle spare room:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
