I almost got rid of everything I had loaded into the car.
First I kondoed a load of anxiety at a PO in town, doing my D Licence photos - I was terrified I'd get it wrong and lose my £5.
They came out perfectly... I look like a 19th Century Baby Farmer/Murderess - old, miserable, and evil. Just what you want on your DL! And I thought I looked younger w/o my glasses! Well, I'll be saving money by not going for Contact Lenses! :rotfl:
I found another bag of clothes to go, along with a few pairs of shoes/boots, left by my DC when they flew the nest. The Sally Ann were pleased!
Binned 2 pairs of sandals.
Took a printer, (forgot the second, as it was covered by cardboard boxes! But will put in car for Tuesday.) sub-woofer, scanner with no lead, and 2 radios to another CS/not-for-profit... they no longer take electronics/ computer stuff! They did take a superfluous bedside cabinet. So all the electronics went to the HWC.
Went on to Mr M's for fish n chips, and did my monthly-ish shop. Opened the rear door of the car to load my bags and nestling against the door... 2 radios! (The other tip stuff had been in the boot!)
I think I will offer the radios (I tested them and they work + tape-tape recording, too! :rotfl:) on Freecycle, along with a barely started rug kit. Round here there are plenty of people who can't receive a digital signal, so they might go. Am also adding the microwave to F/cyle as the convection oven and grill still work, and I think it's the faulty door catch that is blocking the microwave function. It also showers the m/waves, so no turntable needed, and it's big enough for a small turkey! Bargain!
Found a rubbish non-stick saucepan that can also go to the tip next week, with the forgotten printer. :j
I don't know about the house feeling lighter yet, but I felt lighter after carting that stuff to the car, and later unloading it.
I really admire you, iTwin, after kondoing so quickly and thoroughly, it must be really hard to do mins.
Well, my kondo mojo is back, and with a clear vision of what I'm determined to achieve, I'm loving it again! So, maybe my short blast of mins, got me back on track? :dance:Needs, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

Mins Day9
Not counting singly yet as there will be some replacements in some categories but not as many as will be leaving. I think this exercise is showing me that during initial KM some boxes were tidied rather than inspected properly.
1&2 Children's tops x2 from my emergency/spare stash for DGCs - too small
3. The remaining tomato plants
4. DH put out 4 pairs of socks to go
5. The socks I wore yesterday which had holes in them
6. Several dried up tubes of ready made sparkly icing (tastes horrible)
7. Food colouring which had leaked everywhere. Will need to replace some.
8. Gold cake decorating spray - did not work well - use by date 2012.
9. Food flavouring pots with no flavour left - use by dates 2012-13.
I am going to try and keep going to end of October although some creative counting may be needed later in month. Then maybe do mins again in January as things do creep in over Christmas.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

iTwin Well done on your busy day.The photos  I hate having them done I also always look like a women from Prisoner Cell Block H :rotfl:Move over Bea I am taking your patch
I do think the mins game will help as I did a really big declutter before I even started KM and I think it did help.So if there is stuff you know can go get it out there and then. Then you maybe able to see the wood from the trees when you get to the hard nitty gritty of joy / guilt/JIC/ and all the other feelings that KM brings. The other thing is you have to learn to be hard with yourself and getting rid of the komono as you see it and know it is just carp and has no place in your home or head.
So I think you are doing the right thing with getting that (stuff) and thats all it is out.:T Look at the space where the printer was well done
mins game is hard for me but its making me look at everything again and I am sorting as I go as well so its all good.
There is already 5 things in my boxFor today so I am getting there.
I am just hoping for the first time in my life for junk mail :rotfl:Never thought I would say that

I have a new system a cardboard box in the spare room to put my Mins game into as I get rid
As I keep forgetting whats gone.So everything will get dumped in the box and when I add it to the list I will kondo it out of the house. I cant afford to forget a thing as this is getting hard already :rotfl:

I am sadly thrilled with my new idea :rotfl::rotfl:
My cardboard box has been in the porch for several months for initial collection of CS, HWRC, freecycle or need to think about items.
The only problem I have with this is DH! A few weeks ago I had sorted out a bag within the box with electrical items and wires etc. I took the bag without further checks to the HWRC as I was going to pass it.
The next week when my car wouldn't start he got the jump start unit from the boot of his car and there was the batch of old telephone and pre WiFi internet extension wires. They will not be used again as I have not yet disposed of any of those that are still in their packets (but might as well do now).
Yesterday was very busy, childminding GD from 8.30, taking DH to routine hospital appointment after which he would not be able to drive, taking DS to collect his first car 20 miles away and then finding that my car failed to start for my return journey.
Is there a better place though to find that the battery does need to be replaced than outside a specialist service centre with just enough time in the day to order a replacement from the motor factors?
Home to cook dinner for which I had nothing planned due to being out all day.
That's my excuse for the randomness of Day 8 with enough stuff lying around for a quick swoop.
Mins game Day 8
1. 1 floppy disc for a joystick Windows 95 from a box on the stairs waiting to be sorted
2. 2 floppy discs Windows 95 with clip art
3. 3 floppy discs Windows 95 with arcade games
4. 2 smal plastic plant pots from houseplants repotted Wednesday ( the plants look much happier now)
5. The handbook for my previous car stolen and wrecked in 2006, found when looking for the radio code for current car
6. Replacement laptop charger about 10 years old, still in envelope, original was found before its arrival, laptop dead now for years (found in same box as discs)
7. 2 candle sticks from the radiator shelf in the hall, they keep getting knocked over, so have to go.
8. 1 church candle that stood on the hearth, melted down one side when DD put the gas fire on full. She was cold after returning from holiday.
Hope to be more productive today, but every little helps.0 -

Been up in the night with sneezing and snotty nose, feel a bit bleugh today, not sure where I caught it not been in work this week so can't blame them !:rotfl:
Changed beds and done ironing.sorted 2 drawers in kitchen and cupboard in living room got rid of plenty komono (even though I have done them before).
Realised I am late booking my holidays from work, should have done them Monday for 2016-2017.if you don't get in straight away there is nothing left but the dregs!!
In such a flap put the wrong dates in and had to phone work to get manager to cancel them so I can put correct ones in ! What a faff!
Enjoyed reading about the Danish thing! I definitely think my family do that anyway, we tend to go to each others house and chat maybe have a drink or two.
Put 4 books ready to give sis, they were given to me by dd1 but I haven't got round to reading kept some I think I will read. I have had them years !
Note- must spend some time reading again.;)Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0
