    Day 7:
A box of books/DVDs/CDs sent off to another company. So a win-win situation for me - more stuff out of the house and a cheque in return. Think it's £15 for this lot, which I'll stick towards my savings.

How Spooky iTwin :o I have just been researching the prices of Moorcroft as my Dad has a glass cabinet full of the stuff. He was thinking about selling it as he really has no need to keep it and neither my Brother or I like it very much :o I found the reciept dated 1997 last week stuffed inside one of the vases from the auction they got it from and most of it has dropped in value in that time.Dad was just saying well there is no point in investing in this type of stuff and then GQ says the same in her post.So he is not going to bother with selling it.

I also have a Charlotte Rhead vase ;) But mine is in the garage along with the Shirehorse and the Susie Cooper Tea set for one.

The only type of what I call statement pieces I have in my house is a 50s Big wooden hand carved Hippo :D and a Bronze sculpture of a devil emerging from a cabbage :rotfl::rotfl:and that folks is it  I have just had to check around as it doesnt sound like much :o But that hand on heart is it ! I am so happy only 2 joyful items ;) These are both in the lounge and two big china Ducks in the Bathroom which bring me joy :)

GQ hahaha I am happy to but I really havent got a clue how to do it. Someone did give me instructions once but I still didnt understand it. I love my cabbage its by a Man called Harry Iles who I think is quite well known in the cabbage type way :rotfl:It is quite odd and I think its like Marmite you love it or hate it. If you are on FB I can post it on there no problem ;)But you are right you havent lived until you see it xxx hahaha

Forgot to say the only problem with it is that its so hard to keep dust free. Did put it in the Dishwasher once but was told its not the thing to do with Bronze !

:p You should dust bronzes with a soft brush, apparently, so an antique dealer pal tells me. I'm not on FB, so won't be able to see it there, but am thoroughly intrigued.

I know the soft brush trick but it still didnt look dust free:rotfl: so I put it in the dishwasher :o It looked good when it came out and I just left it out upsidedown to drain and dry and it was fine :) They have Bronze things outside in Gardens so I didnt really see the difference.:o

I will google how to put a photo on here and see if I can find step by step instructions and see if I can post it here :DI cant have you forever wondering what you have missed :rotfl:

Website for Mav... you might find something here https://harryilessculptures.wordpress.com/

BTW the Susie Cooper teaset MIGHT be worth something. She's considered art rather than collectable...

Ok, somewhat late to the party but at least I'm trying!

Day1 - box of dress makers pins to my dress making friend

D2 - pair of unopened stockings. Don't like wearing tights or stockings.
A tea plate that I have no idea where it came from. To my friend

D3 - 2 high quality knives, never used. 'Sold' to my auntie because apparently it's bad luck to give knives.
A paperback i finished weeks ago. To a friend

D4 - an odd sock (found in same drawer that DH said was missing a pair of undies...).
A small bag of random docs of various ages that missed the main cull.
half a box of tissues (still got the cold).
A small g&t, for medicinal purposes, of course :)

D5 - a jar of HM plum and ginger jam to neighbour.
a lampshade bought years ago to match (then) new wallpaper. It didn't match !!)
    Pack of OOD crackers.
    No-longer-scented pot pourri.
A small cuddly toy, gift for colleague's little boy's bithday.

D6 - six builder's bags of hedge cuttings. My aged auntie's lovely big garden, sadly not mine!!. It's over 300 feet long on each side of a large lawn. DH cut it, I cleared the cuttings via wheelbarrow, to the bottom of the garden. Thought of you GQ when we piled up the bonny :D:D.

D7 - remaining 7 bags of hedge cuttings :rotfl:
truthfully, there were 13 bags and after doing all that there was no way I was doing any other kondo-ing today :rotfl:

Luckily the cold has cleared up in just 4 days so can't complain.

Off to read another chapter before bed. Early start tomorrow.

    Have a peaceful evening all,

    M

Sorry, GQ, that's what comes of skim-reading! Although, I did skim it twice. :o I had forgotten that you mentioned having a cold recently! Hope it's improving. ;)

All my brass is from the 40s-50s, so no Indian ones, or donkeys! :D I really like the copper kettle, but that might wane with constant cleaning! :rotfl:

I really love the Moorcroft and Charlotte Rhead, mav, and am keeping them because they bring me joy. The value is not important, because I'll never sell them. :D They will be strategically placed 'accent' pieces, bringing a smile to my face every time I see them. :)

My grandparents also had Susie Cooper, for everyday. The design is imprinted on my memory - Wedding Band, in red. Loved it.

    Discarded Day 7:

2 bin bags of spinning wool, hand-dyed by me, but the colour is meh. In the compost bin.
    2 working radios - CS
    1 sub-woofer, from old PC - CS/tip
    1 printer - cs/tip
    1 half-working microwave, oven and grill - CS/tip

I already have 2 things for tomorrow, however, I'm dropping out of mins after that, because it's distracting me from the primary objective. :(

I think mins is a great idea, but probably works best, if one is near the end of, or has finished, kondoing. ;)

I really need to focus on each category, because I just end up rummaging through the carp, and making the house worse than it needs to be. Rummaging also takes more time than kondoing, because I'm just fishing really!:rotfl: A lot of the Stuff in here, is lost in the mists of time!

Still, I'll make sure the petrol is worth the journey tomorrow. ;)

Sorry, Konverts. I need to keep my eyes on the ultimate goal. :o

    Onwards and upwards!
