Good afternoon everyone.
Minsgame Day 7 Wednesday.
Cleaned and sorted two kitchen wall cupboards where I keep baking ingredients. They are high up and I can only reach the items at the front by standing on a step stool, and those at the back by standing on the worktop  so they tend to get neglected.
All items found in the back row.
1. 1 unopened OOD tin of yeast for breadmaker, I don't have a breadmaker, bought the wrong one
2. 1 Tupperware jug, I had found the lid in a drawer a while ago and it was still there, so reunited for CS
3. 1 tall plastic liquid container with handle and lid, but not a jug, unused for
CS
4. 1 slush container at least 10 years old, no straw, recycle
5. Pack of 25 paper plates, unopened for recycle
6. Unopened bag OOD OO flour, was going to make pasta, (note to self, do you need to keep the unused pasta machine?)
7. Remainder of chapati flour in plastic container, about 1kg, not dated, but a long time since I made chapatis.
I have started todays, but will post when finished.0 -
Student didn't show up today so have a couple of hours to kill. Going to sort my eBay listing out and tidy up. When girls home from school we will continue with the bedroom. Seems to be taking ages but I would rather we go through everything rather than just shove it back as I don't want it breeding again!
Had fright out of my life when I got back. There is a lovely old lady who lives across the road. She was at her door as I closed the car door so I smiled and said hello, she told me to wait there and disappears. Loads of things going through my head as she has been conned by some thief before. She comes out with a bottle of bleach in her hand. Apparently She has been waiting over an hour for a neighbour or someone she knew to pass by as she couldn't open it. I must add she knows 'our' cars so knew no one was around so she could not knock on!Don’t put it down - put it away!

hi all, ive been MIA due to the sudden severe worsening of food allergies. Haven't quite caught up on the thread or mins game - hopefully tomorrow. And yes, I'm keeping a list as I'm struggling to find enough things already!
My bf did ask how I expected to get rid of 496 things this month since I 'probably only have about a thousand left'. Which made me laugh, only if you ignore the clothes and craft supplies:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Mins game
Day 8

Good evening all.
Fighting a lingering cold/flu, but determined to press on, well impressed with everyone's efforts!
Here, two bags down to the charity shop today, a mixture of items that I tossed in along the way, plus getting rid of the awkward large rectangle A*gos bags that are useless for my kitchen bins.
I was feeling a bit awkward as they started to empty the plastic bags to give it back to me, they usually don't, but due to the new 5p thing they've been instructed to do so, unless the giver offers it.
I hadn't realised their new rules, but once I offered, they were pleased as they usually empty bags throughout the day when it's slow. They're a little independent (but charity registered) shop, so not selling their own bags yet, so I imagine they'll struggle a bit in a few weeks when they run out of stock.
Another 13 books all stacked and ready to leave. :j
I had another couchsurfer two weeks ago, a nice Spanish fellow who brought me a vegetarian cooking book (in Spanish, my university language). While I appreciated the gesture, it was full of ingredients that we cannot get easily/affordably in the UK.
In the past I would have held it for a few years. Not now.
Tonight, I am enjoying a relaxing evening after a long day, looking forward to the weekend, catching up on everyone's posts. Utilising the Danish concept of Hygge as the evening draws in:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-34345791
In Germany I experienced a similar concept, 'Gemütlichkeit': cozy, comfortable evenings in flats/homes, where everything needed was there with friends or family, without being overwhelmed with stuff, aka 'Marie style'.0 -
Clearing up after the electrician today (more dust) and have a couple of months now without builders so a good opportunity to rationalise further which will make all the furniture moving easier for the next round of activity.
My phone/answermachine died last week and the new one arrived today. I have to charge the handsets for 15 hours, but after that I'm hoping the box and wrappings won't have to stay for long!
Recycling bin is VERY full. Charity bag is filling up again, and I have bagged up all the OOD medicines to drop off at the pharmacy tomorrow when I pick up my dry cleaning...
I was going to return all the bedding and towels to the airing cupboard, but am wondering about keeping them in the rooms that they go with. I'm just concerned they might get cold/damp. Some of my bedding is already in a blanket chest in my bedroom with out of season clothes. One of room has an underbed drawer I could use and another has a CoD with not much in it. Kids room has very little storage at the moment, so need to address this when I move them in stage 3 of the renovations upstairs.0 -
Today I took photos and created listings for items I found while I was tidying and put them on Ebay. Hubby worked out the weight and different postage costs. He even created a listing for an item he purchased which was too big for him but he never returned - he seems to be getting into the Kondo way too. I hope some of the things sell so we will have more space but if they don't I will take them to the charity shop. I sorted plastic bags too.
I haven't got home since my doctors appointment (visiting parents) so hopefully I will get back to Kondo some more tomorrow after hubby leaves a few bags into the charity shop and we do a few messages!!0
