Maman- I confess I too am holding mushroom punnets!
So glad it's not just me:).
I went clothes shopping today or rather I didn't as I'm reluctant to bring anything into the house that isn't any more joyful than what I have already. So very mse and nothing coming in to create clutter.
Since we redecorated the sitting room lots of things haven't gone back in and I'm enjoying the uncluttered look. Only two cushions (previously 8:eek:) on the sofas. I did fancy some more in TKMaxx but decided instead I'll make my own (two more tasks on the winter list). I saved a needlepoint seat cover from a chair that went to the tip. I made it myself and the colours in the Florentine pattern are perfect so that'll be made into a cushion and I think I might knit another perhaps Aran. I like knitting but not handknitted jumpers so that'll be a nice project.0 -
Morning all
Had friends round last night, and managed to declutter a rather substantial mount of wine BUT her DH who works with mine had been round to share a bottle with us previously and told her we drank wine out of tumblers so they came bearing wine and glasses!!!
Forgot to say when I defrosted the freezer last weekend I Kondoed all the plastic ice cubes and a couple of big ice packs, no one had ever used them so they just take up space in the freezer.
DD3 popped round last night she managed to sell a beanbag chair for me so that has been Kondoed, the space it was taking up looks better already!
If I can grub together enough compost I might nip round mils and plant her wheelbarrow up. I know I need more compost than I have to do my planters on our front.
Have a joyful day all whatever you decide to do.SPC~12 ot 124

Well, I'm almost speechless...
As many of you know I have a BCC on my eye. There are 2 applicable treatments, which I researched, and chose the one with the best outcome. It is only done in 1 hospital in God's Own, 80 miles away.
My local surgeon had put me on his urgent waiting-list, but then referred me on, so I cancelled my place on his list. (Would have had the other op on 1st Sept, otherwise.)
I received a letter from 2nd hospital saying they were 'going to' arrange an appointment for me. Rang them and asked about the waiting list for this... 51 weeks for urgent appointments!
The member of staff commented "I suppose it's much longer for non-urgent appointments."
So, a bit of a bu88er! I'm going back to the start, an 8% worse chance of complete removal, but quicker, and 'the waiting clock' will probably be restarted, yet again! What a mess the NHS is in.
Anyway, life goes on.
iTwin, I'm glad the chocolate worked for you. Unfortunately, after 10 years of low-carb, I can only face a single square, and rarely! Too sweet! My fruit cake, however... ! Hmm, must make another!
My laptop is freezing, too, with 'scripts running' and after upsetting it by trying to fix it, it's still doing it!
maman, I would have saved the bargello, too! I have done some nice Ehrmann tapestry cushion covers and they bring me joy. I like Aran ones too, but knitted ones tend to stretch, unless they are 100% wool, so they might have to wait until I have spun some! :rotfl:
I might unearth my (1980s) sewing machine, today. I need to check the shank-length, because I want to buy a 32-piece set of click-on feet (cheap on Am@zon) - they will be SO useful for getting a 'couture' finish, so I can start filling my wardrobe with joyful new clothes (after the tiny things for GD1.)
Back to kondoing proper, today. Per ardua ad astra! Have a great day, Konverts! :dance:Needs, NOT wants!

Crikey iQueen - 51 weeks! That's ridiculous. How frustrating that you could have had it all done by now, 8% probably outweighs waiting a year for treatment. Sorry to hear it, and hope you can get an appointment soon.
I have nothing in the diary today and visitors tomorrow. I'm going to tackle this kitchen today come what may. I just need a coffee first...Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
Iqueen that is terrible!, hope you get something quickerSPC~12 ot 124

IQueen when I went to the doctor with the same he emailed it through to the surgeon and the phone was ringing when I came home from the appointment and this was the hospital to say would I take a cancellation at short notice - I said yes - well 9am tomorrow morning so it was all done within 24 hours of going to the doctor.
Get back to your doctor and tell him the length if the waiting list and say that you will take a cancellation at short notice.0 -

It is ridiculous, and my fault, for wanting the best treatment!
The local service acted immediately, and the second-option op would have been done within the 62 day NHS guideline.
I'm not prepared to wait 51 weeks for a first appointment. Then another trip for pre-op assessment and another for the op - 160 miles round trip each time. Transport is a problem and family are all over 150 miles away, on the otherside of the UK. So, taking a cancellation is not possible.
Just have to settle for second-best.
I wonder how many others are in this position, but with sight-threatening conditions, or worse? It's shameful.

Oh iQueen, how frustrating. Hope the appointment on paper is quicker than what the phone lady said. I get the feeling they sometimes don't want to promise things so they over-estimate to be on the safe side.0

I have thought of going to the press, but that would probably only result in my jumping the queue, at the expense of someone in a worse position - just to shut me up!
Anyway, I'm kondoing this for now - should hear next week if the local clock is being reset. :rotfl:
On to real kondoing now. Sorry for going off-topic, but thought it might help others to find out information.
On with the motley! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Needs, NOT wants!

Sidenote. Not that the NHS can do anything for this lady, but did you see this story? And here I have been grumbling for the past few days that I have a cold and cannot go to the gym.
