Min's game day #29 so far
1 plastic orange squeezer - takes up loads of space and i have one of the hand held ones
1 set of old phones (in reality about 5 items, but i'll count as one - for now)
1 pair 3d cinema glasses
1 old computer base (it sparks when we start it so we can't even see what's on it - we think photos are elsewhere and it hasn't been started for about 2 years so clearly we haven't missed anything on it)
1 keyboard for the above (DD wants the monitor to use with her old laptop so, unfortunately we have to keep that for a while)
1 italian phrasebook
1 novel
1 small poetry book
1 london A-Z
1 old Rough Guide to France (we have a newer version)
1 salad spinner
1 splatter screen for a frying pan - minging cos it's been under the oven and is never used
1 juicer attachment for a magimix. Never used but kept cos came with the magimix and, well if i want to sell it ..... - but then realised i am never gonna sell my magimix cos i love it
1 insert for egg poaching pan, also under cooker also minging. Pan can be kept as a frying pan
14 so far
Edit, continued
2 old Hannah Montana CDs of DD - binned
12 CDs - I was going to send them to Music Magpie but it only comes to £2.30 for the lot so I will send to the chazzer
1 flan tin - also minging cos it was under the cooker.
Big things today.
Last day tomorrow. 30 items.
I am now really having to look and think but, like the "under the oven" stuff, there are still places i haven't looked. Other stuff, like the CD's, were waiting for me to action - Music Magpie is a faff so i have put it off, but then when i looked the value isn't worth the faff. Some CDs came in at 5p
In fact there are about 3 other bits under the cooker, but i have to save them now....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Oo, the salad-spinner, VJsmum! I always wanted one of those, but I use a tea-towel instead.
I also wanted a coffee-grinder, but I'm now a confirmed Philistine, and use N*scafe Original! (Dunno what they did to G Blend, but it tastes foul since Austerity!) :rotfl:
My spinny came from Lidl, but I can tell you a nice chazza shop that now has an 'as new' one for sale!I realised that I simply don't eat lettuce and when I do, I certainly don't spin it!
Funny how you have all these visions of what it will be like when you finally get your own home, but the reality for me has been very different....nothing matches in my house, I've got various items of crockery and mugs (OMG mugs) which I have accumulated and been gifted, each one tells a story which seems more important than having a matching set, but one day...Then you get animals and it's game over :rotfl:
Busy kondoeing kittens from a ghastly neighbour this week evenings, but have big plans for the weekend.....cupboard under the sink, I'm looking at you!;)Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Morning! (Well, it was when I started!)
Up to my eyes in laundry, but cleaned the fridge, as it's nearly empty. Got some routine admin to do... if I can get the printer to work!
MMF007, hope you enjoyed your break in Wales!Fingers crossed for you, re: redundancy. As you say, chin up. Stay positive.
maman, mushroom punnets are good for corraling smaller/flatter items, like spices, sauce packets, jellies, bathroom sachets, basic sewing stuff for quick mending, smaller items under the sink, small baking/icing items, chiffon scarves, gloves/beanie hats, make-up - anything small that can become a disorganised mess or mislaid. The punnets are easy to grab or slide out of cupboards, rather than rootling around in a larger space.
iTwin, hope you are feeling a bit brighter! Shame about the 5lbs, but your running should kondo that and lift your spirits, too.
Can't wait to get at my sewing machine! Don't be put off by zips they are really easy! Check it out on the web/P1nterest - you'll soon be making your own dresses and trousers! Also, look for free tote bag patterns - there are some really good ones - no one will believe you've made them!
I'm so glad your Dad is giving you so much joy - it really is infectious!
juliebunny, my home's full of mismatched stuff, too. Basically, I'm just glad to have the essentials - matching stuff is a luxury I don't really need.
Was a bit worried about the kondoed kittens, and the close mention of 'under the kitchen sink' - sounded ominous! :rotfl:
VJsmum, thanks for the laugh about the heater handle! I can just picture you grubbing for it!I agree with mrs moneypenny, 'fessing up now is too early! IMHO, men are always 'losing' things and mins will get the blame! :rotfl:
Well done, with all the stuff you have managed to kondo this month - it is definitely worth thinking about, for all those items we're usually blind to, and gives us an extra push. I'm going to wait for another short month... probably February 2016! :rotfl:Needs, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

All that good work - gone to waste.
Know someone who has sold her house, but hasn't seen anything that she would like, and had to hand her keys in today.
So over the weekend, she said she was looking for a place to store her 3+2 seaters, tv unit and extremely large tv, and being the good friend I am, said she could store them in one of my spare rooms.
So instead of kondo-ing, actually 4 large pieces of furniture arrived, plus tv box.
Time for a bit of a re-shuffle - furniture wise, nothing I can kondo there as when the large pieces move out again, I can move my furniture back.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
you ARE a good friend ... personally I think if she's sold her house and not bought somewhere she should jolly well be paying for storage! At least you know it's not staying.
I agree VJsmum - keep schtum about the handle, otherwise every darn thing that goes missing in future will be blamed on you!
The plumber came again yesterday - without warning ... I was just going to get round to cleaning up the kitchen, after a busy weekend, honest! However on the good side, it again took only moments to whisk the stuff out of the cupboard. It's all stood in a tray, and I am going to look at it again before putting it back because I can't believe I'll ever use some of it.
I really feel I've hit a rut - various RL things, and a painting job that needs doing while the weather is fair, have held me up. I'm determined that this week the kitchen is going to be finished, all the cupboards have been done (in various categories) and it's just random komono on the table and worktops that never seems to find a home. I'm going to re-read the book and get ruthless!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
Whilst kondo-ing the spent tomato plants from the garden I found a dead rat:eek::eek: right in the corner of a flower bed, almost hidden by plants. Thankfully OH was on hand to kondo it away!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

Not having much success here. The only positive is the rooms and spaces that have been done are now super easy to clean. I had a later than normal start at work this morning so in the 1/2 hour extra I managed to whizz round kitchen and living room, empty dishwasher, and put a wash on. Bonus as I was also finished early so managed to vac all through and put washing away.
I sat down 5 minutes before OH came home. Has he noticed how tidy everywhere is. No!
I am aiming for my next push at half term in 3 weeks. I want to move some furniture around and paint a book shelf for my Pratchett books. I am hoping that I can persuade OH to sort out the back room so that I can move some more stuff around.
The good thing is that I am chilled about the stuff that is left. Except for the picture that I have been trialling in the hall - that is definetely not bringing me joy - it will have to go.De cluttering Konvert.Getting there

I have largely failed to kondo anything today. Woke to find the heating had been left on continuously by my flatmate's guest. Then that the soup and bread were left out overnight, and the roll was covered in flies!!
So, I waited a couple of hours to stop the threatening migraine fade and deep cleaned the kitchen. It was easy to do! So little carp to have to shift first, able to grab cloths and cleaning items as needed. Its horrifying how much gunk I found down the side of the cooker - I've only lived here 1 year! I don't mean to sound smug, I'm just s happy that despite the ME/CFS I was able to tackle something almost immediately:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Thank you iTwin for your wise words
I am fine but felt like I had a cold coming all last week but it never came out. So just ate chocolate to cheer myself up and it did to be honest
But now have to pay the price which is fair enough. :rotfl:
I am glad you think I will be ok with zips. Cant wait to get started.
Did manage to kondo a few items of you guessed it clothes todaySo another couple of spare hangers .
Have loads more to chunter on about but my laptop keeps freezing and is driving me mad so got to go

Today I have kondoed the weeds from the front garden,it doesn't look much different for all my hard work but at least I know it's been done.
Maman- I confess I too am holding mushroom punnets!
The weather is definitely an impetus to go outside rather than kondo inside!
Tomorrow I'm working till late so no KM .hope everyone is well and taking the chance to enjoy the sun .:jFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0
