  • Afternoon all, I'm also going to try the mins game this month :) seems a good bday pressie to myself. This has been sparked by the purchase of a lovely oil burner for my bedroom, which had emphasised how much I still need to clear so many things from surfaces!

A couple I know might be doing it too, a bit as a competition. Taking turns to declutter each day - and no, I've already refused to referee!

I wondered about that too. Is it possible to perhaps sew the wool part to a lining to stop that. I'm interested to Know

I made Aran cushions for a friend a couple of years ago - they ended up very saggy. If I did it again I'd either sew them to a lining, or at least use tape to stabilise the seams and particularly the buttonhole edge. I was very disappointed with how they looked when completed.

  • Afternoon everyone - have just decluttered over 5 hours at chazzer sorting everyone's kondo'd books!!
I think I may join in the Mins game too - at least until the 10th of the month as should be able to achieve that!! Later on it could get harder as will need to do paper and that is my nemesis.

Keep up the good work everyone.x

I think that I may need to keep a list of clothes that I Kondo, I spent ages yesterday looking for a particular tunic top (not found so far), but I think that I may have sent it to the CS, hoping not, as I now have a long cardi that would look terrific with it:(

Been in garage to see what can be put in rafters but when got up there ,there was another box of glasses and ornaments, I must have missed on Sunday!
8 crystal high ball glasses, 1 decanter and 2 brandy glasses! All unused.
Various Lilliput lane type houses and flowery pottery that used to grace my old house! Don't know why I was keeping them!
Decided to wash and use the high ball glasses as I gave my Ikea ones to nephew on Sunday, fed up of seeing them.
Put decanter and brandy glasses on Facebook to see if I can give them away.:T
    Before I bin them.
Sorry I know I should save and give to charity shop but know if they linger they won't go! I have no car or would be there everyday!:rotfl:
Also threw out 2 beer festival tankards, need to stop bringing them home when we go!
Hubby has a few now of pint ones and that's plenty for when we have people round.I certainly don't want to drink wine from a heavy tankard.!

maddiemay - Same problem here, I can't find a cotton jumper I had and can't remember if I Kondoed it in a fit of enthusiasm! I'm sort of hoping not - it's not the most flattering garment, admittedly, but so very comfortable to wear. Oh well, I need to get my fleece tops off the high shelf of the wardrobe soon, so it may turn up behind them.

iQueen 51 weeks????? Goodness! I do remember years ago waiting 18 months for an appointment, but that was partly because although my GP felt the problem was urgent, the consultant classed it as routine. I can't even remember what it was now!

GQ I hope you were able to have your bonfire and enjoyed it hugely :j

This afternoon I started Kondo-ing the undersink cupboard. So far I've only done the left-hand side of the top shelf. The right-hand side is awkward to get at, since the dishwasher gets in the way of the door, but at least I've made a start.

I found quite a few things such as colour run remover, drain cleaner, that sort of thing, that have been in there a few years and have no use-by date on them so I've no idea if they'll still be effective, and don't know whether to just bin them or put them back :(

Some of it is car-related items belonging to DS, who has probably forgotten they are there. I found what feels like a full bottle of Turtle Wax that "blends with all shades of black". It's a good ten years since he had a black car. But I'm going to have to put it all back in the cupboard for now so there's room on the worktop to prepare dinner (don't worry, I'll clean it first!) :D

My youngest daughter told me on Wednesday that she was planning on moving out. Does it make me a terrible mother that one of my thoughts was , 'great, I can kondo all the stuff in her room'?

I have since thought about the mug hoard that she is keeping in my kitchen. That can go as well.

Of course I am terribly sad:( but oh the joy of getting rid of more stuff:T.

Slow progress here... Started dd1 bedroom so piles everywhere. There's a pile for rubbish, recycling, yes, no, car boot and younger sis may want this. Hoping to finish round one this weekend!

I am also trying to finish half started craft things and then I can sell on stall. Not much work coming in.. Hat the zero hours but love my job!

Although things in the house not moving fast I have noted that fewer things come/stay now. Someone gave dd some clothes. Got her to go thru straight away and bag now gone. Normally this would hang around for weeks!
