Evening all.
Drusilla, when I was a stroppy younger teenager (I actually left home for real at 16) I used to threaten to run away from home. It was somewhat deflating to have the parental units offer to pack for me...........:p Change the locks when she goes so she can't get back in!
I have had a lovely time on my allotment for an hour, in which time, in absolutely perfect conditions, I built and fired the bestest bonfire ever. Flames were 8 ft tall - whee!
Very very happy with how things went. Allotment is looking extremely nice and there'll still be some pretty decent days before the winter closes in.
Next project is to hack the back of my shed out of the nettles and brambles which grow over from the plots at the back, so I can put wood treatment on it. Eventually, I hope to have used up all that dadblasted Coo-pre-norl Autumn Gold treatment. Dreadful colour, see why it was on offer for £2 at the bootsale.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Got rid of the left over Coo-pre-norl Autumn Gold on Freecycle, hope the chickens like the colour for their home."When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us" Alexander Graham Bell0

Mum bought it on my behalf, seemed like a good price for a big tub of it, but it lasts forever and is an icky yellow. Somewhere is suvvern ingerland, there is an icky yellow allotment shed - you will find me nearby, lol.
I've had a tidy-around inside the fridge and coralled some stuff into fruit punnets to keep it in order. Long overdue tidying up session in there.
I'm proposing to do summat radical in the next few days; eat everything up before buying/ cooking anything else. Kondo-ing foodstuffs, you know it makes sense. Spent a humungous £40.29 on housekeeping in September, gotta do better than that in October.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

We corralled all items of one category in one place, held them all to feel the joy, and got rid of the 'quite okay' one. Translation: we put all our cars (three) on our drive, and sold the 14-year old with 160.000km on. It sold within a day for €1,400!
Second car is 4-year old diesel with 100,000km on; we hope to sell it soon. Proceeds of both sales will buy me an electric bicycle and a small (2nd hand) petrol car. I only use it for my 13km commute.
Third car is brandspanking new company car for dh. We don't pay a penny for that, although dh was tempted to 'upgrade' to a fancier model.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Having faffed around all week, I finally tackled the kitchen and of course it didn't take nearly as long as I thought. Decorating and garden items are in their proper places, some odds and ends are in the CS bag, and the key safe which I acquired on Freecycle about three months ago has been installed. Yes, a job I've been putting off for three months took me all of twenty minutes - although that's partly because I've Kondoed the toolbox, it would have taken much longer before. And now visitors can let themselves in rather than me leaving a key under a plant pot.
I've tried 'Operation Clear Worktop' before, and it hasn't lasted but I'm optimistic that now I might keep it clear. They are lovely beech worktops - inherited when I bought the house, they're are a PITA to clean and need oiling regularly. I'm really hoping that without piles of carp, I mean Komono, the job of oiling them will be much easier.
It is weird to look up and see a huge clear surface- very restful. I wonder if it will last, like the other KM areas I've done.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
How funny Coo-pre-norl Autumn Gold What a nasty colour that is :rotfl:How do I know as about 7 years ago all my fence was painted in that  Came home from work and saw it shimmering in the sunlight  I hated it for 6 years but thankfully it has now worn off and will NOT be recoated ever (with Autumn Gold)
Jenny I am sure your chooks will be fine with it. My chooks hut is Beach Hut Blue :rotfl:But dont think they really care
I remember the chat on AS chalk paint I also dont like it much to work with so I am going to paint my back fence with it :rotfl:To use it up think it is Louis Blue so should look pretty joyful when its doneWill water it down so it goes on washed and shabby looking ;)And will cover the last of the Autumn Gold  Just got to wait until the Honeysuckle can be cut down as its still flowering at the moment.
3 of the Eb*y items have sold and kondoed out of the house so creeping up to the joyful boot costWhich one pair I was wearing today even though it was really quite warm.So I most likely looked an idiot but heyho I dont care
Glad the fire went well GQ I love a good bonfire very very joyful.

Creeps in, tis only the first day of the mins game and I'm already cheating. However, I have decided what is going, I just don't have the energy to do it after having a guest.
Plan (atm) is to get rid of my jewellery box. I have already thinned the contents, and have 3 small drawers in a far more joyful and 'me' bureau top box-thing. To keep items organised, they shall live in silicon ice cube trays. I almost never use ice cubes, and I even have 2 which match my blue bedroom. I'm quite pleased with that idea, well, once I get round to it tomorrow!:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Morning all
Hope everyone is well
I can say it now but kondoing has struck again, by making room in my life I've been officially offered two extra full time days at work. Apparently my "positive mental attitude and willingness to go the extra mile" has brought me to the notice of people that have the ability to offer extra hours. When I first starting the kondoing journey I was soon offered a few extras here and there, (after working at the same place for years and hinting I'd love more) but this is job sharing maternity cover so will be for quite a while, plus I will still be offered extra hours on the other days if I'm needed. Punching the air and shouting WOO might have been frowned up to when leaving the heads office after being told so I waited till I got home.
Got offered an open appt for mil at oncology yesterday rather than keep taking her in every few months as they've said they won't operate or treat her again so there's not much point in monitoring her, got home to a letter about her foot two appt so in different hospitals were on same day within 30 mins of each other so rang, cancelled one and mentioned she's still not had the appt to get brace fitted that will help her walking. The waiting list for that I've now been told is 23 weeks! So an 88 year old with cancer is still expected to be around by that time? It does make me wonder why they are offering her the nerve mapping if they aren't really intending to fix her problems.
Mins game
Day 2
2 fence painting brushes
Paint tray
Have offered the above to neighbour who owns the other side of the fence, working on the theory I know they are doing their side soon, our side will be done again in probably a years time by which the brushes will be dried out and dusty or lost somewhere in the garage so we will end up buying new ones anyway. They were pleased and accepted them so it's not really fobbing them off with stuff they don't want, they have been told to bin them after use.
Dragonette that's not rely cheating, I know at somepoint during the month I will be saying I've put something in a cs bag, but that won't leave the house until the next run into town we do. So mine won't Lways be dealt with on the day either
Have a joyful day allSPC~12 ot 124

The guy who was selling the Autumn Gold told Mum he'd opened it, decided he didn't like the colour before even dipping a brush into it, tried to take it back to the shop and they wouldn't take it back. Which they weren't obliged to. I've actually had two lots of Autumn Gold sourced for me this way (have put my gardening boot down firmly against taking on any more) and will eventually reach the bottom of the second tub.
Amazing how a hue can be manufactured to such wide-spread loathing. I'm a fan of yellow but this is a particularly unpleasant shade, pushing those ghastly 'light tan' leather wedgies I had in the 1970s in terms of horribleness.:rotfl:
Will be doing stuff with mates for most of the day, but might have enough time to sneak off to the lottie to declutter some of those shed-crowding brambles. Bit frustrating as I have to do this constantly, can never get them sorted because they're growing in from several other plots. Where anything like that grows on mine, I go after it with cold steel (the mattock) and extreme prejudice and declutter it permanantly.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
