I managed to donate knicker hangers back to sainsbury for their re use. I'd not wanted to bin them but had them more than a year I think!
I didn't know my colours. I wore the wrong colours and wrong size clothes.
I learnt to love my look she gave me and I've never looked back. I dislike using my 'wrong' colours still (try getting check exercise great in autumn colours:( )Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -

Hello again,
Mav sounds to have had a fantastic session! It does sound really uplifting and confidence inspiring. Quite jealous, I must admit...and like another poster, I don't think I now have 55 items left in my wardrobe!
I started holiday packing today and felt rather depressed because lots of my clothes are clearly not very joyful. Yes they fit (ish), yes I (quite) like them, but that's about as far as it goes. Clearly a lot of work to be done there...
In better news, I went through my jewellery today and got rid of about half of it - hope the cs will appreciate it! Also cleaned all the silver bits I possess, took apart my jewellery box (a clear plastic Muji thing), washed and dried it then struggled to reassemble it! And I went through a lot of very personal letters, chose a couple to keep and shredded the rest so that felt pretty good. Also when I was packing my undies etc, that was noticeably easier than in previous years as my drawers were all super tidy and not over full.
So a mixed result overall today - must keep going, maybe I'll book a personal shopper or a colour consultant when I get back from holiday...all advice gratefully received.

Personal shopper is free, but you'll get more benefit from it after a colour consultation. I can't really afford the latter, so in MSE fashion I'm going to do it myself - get a book out of the library and enrol a good friend whose judgment I trust, I think it's sometimes easier for others to see how things alter the way you look.
VJsMum, I often get the urge to start sorting stuff just as it's bedtime - why is that, I wonder?Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
New poster on here.. so nice to find somewhere I can feel normal - my DH thinks I am losing the plot rolling my knickers up! I'm watching videos and as when I can during the Summer holiday, but have cleared a lot of my stuff already and can't believe the space I have! AwesomeDFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I've still got the original CMB books - all bigvhair and shoulder pads  BUT I've lost count of how many times I've loaned them out as the advice is still relevant. The system is brilliant for simplifying clothes shopping and avoiding the sale bargains that end up in the back of the wardrobe. A friend of mine's husband said it was worth every penny to watch her walk past 90pct of M&S clothes instead of browsing e everything - funnily enough lots of Dh's seem to take it on board tooSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Lots of progress here.
Yesterday I made a start on the garden, the slugs have destroyed so much this year i have decided to cut my losses and just get rid of everything. Ive also decided to,hack back some shrubs and dig up the ones that don't give me joy.
I have bought some nice new ones, evergreens and interesting foliage types for winter colour. Also going to get rid of all the plastic mismatching pots and containers.
Just finished decorating the kitchen so going to,Kondo, all the cupboards again as I put everything back to rights.
That should keep me out of mischief for a couple of days......:rotfl:0 -
Morning all
Decided I'm going to do my jewellery box today, I've done it before but think it needs a revisit, nothing of value in there - I wear my wedding and engagement all the time. But I'm sure there is still some tat I can kondo.
I have a lot of earrings but rarely wear them and haven't done so for so long that when I was bought a pair last year I couldn't wear them as one ear had closed up. Dh has offered to get them repierced but wondering if there's any point if I'm not going to wear said earrings much or will getting them done make me wear them?
Hope everyone is well
Loving the colour chat and glad you found the experience so enjoyable mavvySPC~12 ot 124

... and a weird noise machine that the MIL once bought me. :eek:debtfreeoneday wrote: »New poster on here.. so nice to find somewhere I can feel normal - my DH thinks I am losing the plot rolling my knickers up! Welcome debtfree. My OH thinks I'm mad samosaing plastic bags - he won't be doing it because he's apparently "got a life" (which is usually spent looking for things he's mislaid in his very untidy and disorganised home).
Welcome too explorer_kelly. Good luck with your journey.lessonlearned wrote: »Lots of progress here.

Exhausted just thinking of all of this. A much gentler time planned for me just getting the place straight after a busy couple of days.
Cookery books have been sorted and a third of them ready to head out the door. Novels are on the table ready for me to go through - probably tomorrow. Have gone off piste as village fete is weekend after this so want to get as much stuff to them as possible so the paperwork has been put to one side for now.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
So I woke at 6.30 still thinking about the cupboard. :rotfl:
LOL, Oceanspirit - the weird noise machine is things like birdsong, rain, the sea. Supposed to be relaxing apparently. If you want to hear rain, stick your head out of the window - you won't have to wait long :rotfl:
Lots of boxes for recycling - old DS game boy boxes, old mobile phone box. Lots for the bin, regrettably - some ties of DH died i storage (DH must have, literally, 100 ties. Never wears them). I am going to show him before binning, 1) coz I said I wouldn't chuck anything of anyone elses without consent and2) it might get himto look at the others. Also for the bin are a couple of died in storage handbags (mouldy), and some hot water bottles (look brittle, don't trust them), some comfy but too ancient sandals, airplane neck pillow things (mouldy), an odd ski glove (only one of us has ever been skiing but I must have got rid of 5 pairs of ski gloves) and some carrier bags.
I have also found DDs national insurance number which saves her travelling from Wales ,where she is working, to Essex, where she is at uni, to pick up the one she got when she lost It the first time.:T. Whilst looking for it,I noticed that DD (the untidiest girl in the world) HAS KONDOED HER DRAWERS <<faints>>I wanna be in the room where it happens0
