The strangest thing, I can wear earrings again!! I've tried so many times to the point of hurting my ears to get them in that's why I thought one had closed up. Sat with my jewellery box just now and absently mindely slipped one in, it went straight in with no probs thought I must have remembered the wrong ear being closed so tried the other one and they just both went straight in no probs, so I'm now wearing the lovely little joyful diamond studs I was bought last year by a work colleague.
I have culled a load of cheap fashion earrings as I'm not going to risk wearing those so I have about 3 pairs of good earrings now, that is plenty.
A lot of fashion jewellery that turns my neck green has also been thanked and binned. (I've surely passed the age when I should even consider wearing that, it's not a good look on teens!)
I do have a lovely bracelet that DH bought me that doesn't fit but I will keep it, it's one of those elastic cords, with a lovely heart and a charm that says "forever and a day" with it but the elastic is too short and my hand turns red within minutes of wearing it, I will keep it in the hope of finding a longer piece of cord or another way of wearing it.
Found more DVDs in my cupboard, they are ones I've won over the past few years that I was saving as gifts I will ask Dh if there are any we want to watch and then just pass the others on (apart from the colour version of its a wonderful life that will bring me joy at Christmas with a glass of baileys)
Need to clear the bed of jewellery that is going now then going to start on the dressing table I'm certain I don't need the amount of biros I've noticed in a pen pot on there!

What about hanging it somewhere where you can look at it like on the edge of a mirror? I was thinking in the style of those bunting type hearts that are popular in home d!cor.

Thank you for that suggestion maman, I'll do that while I wait for another option to reveal itself.

Had a fraught day yesterday... because I managed to 'kondo Wednesday'! (I really need to speed up my kondoing, and 'get a life'.) So, this week, I've kondoed a day, ended up with 2 Thursdays and still found an extra day - still trying to work this out!

VJsMum, I often get the urge to start sorting stuff just as it's bedtime - why is that, I wonder?

Loving reading about everyone's successes! It will spur me on to do something productive on my 'extra' day! :D

PollyWollyDoodle, That's me! I get really fired up, but don't have any energy, then the spark is just a glimmer next morning! :o I'm working on changing this! :)

Yesterday, (whatever day that was) I telephoned our local s/h book shop and aroused interest in my books, especially as I said I would donate them! Good chance the owner will pick them up! :j I need to run some through Am@zon and other sites, just in case some are really worth selling.

Since it is not bin day, today, I shall kondo some big (but uselessly shaped) boxes from the hall, ready to be collected tomorrow. :rotfl: I may, also, do some paperwork for recycling, too. Every little helps, even though that means that I have 3 'open' categories. :o

Definitely, going to vacuum-pack the spare duvets, today, too. That should be a bit of fun (I hope), after emptying 2 suitcases of 'stored' vintage clothes under my bed, so the duvets can have a (temporary) home there instead.

I shall now share a brew with all the newbies (Welcome!) and get started. :coffee::coffee::coffee:

You could buy some 'hat elastic' and re-thread it. Loop the 2 ends through each other - think Russian join in knitting - and whip the ends tightly with matching thread. Or a jeweller match be able to bind the looped ends with a metal joint? :)

Morning Kondoites both new and old ;) Welcome to the rocky road all you newbies.Any questions, thoughts mad or otherwise welcomed ;)

Slept like a log last night as didnt have to think about clothes :) Was woken up by DH at the door at 6.30 am  With a jacket on I had discarded in the major cull yesterday. Opened my eyes and just looked at him. Then he said 'you may have been style gurued' But I like this jacket. I just looked at him and said you have it then even if the arms are miles too short its a womens and its much to small for you. he said is it ? Mmmm yes just a tad I said but do what you want. Checked when I got up and its back on the pile to go.He must have come to his senses :rotfl:
Its one of those Weird Fish like waffle jackets so I know men wear them so I think I will have to bite the bullet and get him one in his own size as he has always loved them I just dont like the £65 price tag. Mine was charity shop and cost £3.50 :rotfl:

I now need to sort out the kondoed massive pile of clothes on the floor in the spare room in to some kind of order. and put blinkers on so NOTHING goes back in the wardrobe ;)

The colour lady has grouped all my wardrobe in Colour order and I must say just looking in there brings me joy :rotfl:

Anybody need 45 wooden coat hangers as thats how many I have got spare :o

Looking forward to the shopping trip in the morning as I can just sit and drink coffee while someone else does all the leg work :D Thats what I hate picking stuff out taking it to the changing rooms waiting to try stuff on and then to find everything you picked is the wrong size or you just hate it. I just give up at that point and just dont bother its all so stressful and I hate trawling round the stores :o Lifes to short for that kind of malarky dont you think ;) So this maybe the way forward for me. I wonder if you get PS in the chazzers :rotfl::rotfl:As thats where I find most of my loved clothes ;)

I usually wear my hair down or the top bit back in a bobble, while I was sorting the pen pot out on my dressing table I found one of those spring like clips that you twist into your hair once you've a ragged it up into a bun thing. My hair was loose so in view of the fact I'd already been reckless and put earrings in I decided to stick the hair clip in as well.
Neighbour knocked to ask me about doing some knitting for her and commented on how nice I looked and asked if she was stopping me going out. After she'd gone I nipped down the shops to get some stuff another neighbour pulled up in her car and asked where I was going "all done up" and if I needed a lift. Again told how nice I looked. Walking I back from the shops a lovely elderly neighbour started walking with me and told me what a lucky man my Dh is and how I was looking particularly lovely today.
Haven't laughed so much in ages, bumped into first neighbour and told her about the other compliments and said I'll have to wear this shade of lippy again. She looked me up and down and said no it's definately the hair that's done it you should wear it up more often. I'm only wearing a black knitted skirt and dark green vest top so don't feel over the top glam just joyful enough.
I think I may be on the look out for some joyful hair accessories to invest in as an addition to my wardrobe;)

Double LOL just had a ppi call (tenacious and very determined) they told me I'd taken a loan out on a certain date, paid it back in full by another year, which bank it was with and that they were sending me paperwork out so I could sort the claim with them. None of that info was correct, neither was the fact I'm married to my son, I got bored with her and told her I wasn't interested and her facts weren't correct. She was quite annoyed.

Please do not think that I am making light of illness/depression or awful life events, but I defy anyone who is just feeling a bit down to be so for long if a member of this thread:D

I was having an extreme fit of the giggles reading about iQueen's Kondoed Wednesday, by the time I had read part way through Mavvymoos post I was spitting tea over my lap top at the thought of Mr Moo dressed in one of her jackets, envisaged something brightly coloured and feminine, then she spoilt it by explaining that it was a uni-sex one:( Then there is Mrs MP being chatted up by all and sundry:D:D, this really is a great club to be a part of:D. (BTW the poor dog is looking most concerned at my outbursts!)

My morning has been much less exciting:(, but I have been raiding the colour charts at the DIY store, and need to make some time to have lots of fun making up swatches.

Me too, I'm giggling away at all your antics.......

Just having a break from the kitchen Kondoing. Have sorted out all the tins of paint etc and taken them down to the cellar and have started reorganising the cuoboards. Found some nice plastic boxes in the cellar so shall be grouping things together for efficiency and ease, all baking stuff in one, tins and packets, dry goods etc in another that kind of thing.

Then if ive got time and energy left I might do a bit more in the garden later or then again I might just get the deck chair out and do nowt.....

    Hello!
I've been sent here by a friend, who is a lurker and lent me her MK book last year. It was LIFE changing! I'm on the way to becoming a converted ex hoarder - her methods and ideology have really struck a chord with me, where years of 'I'll just sort out one drawer today' and an alarming toiletries stash have failed me!
I've made a good start but seem to have got stuck now....does anyone have a list of categories they would be happy to share with me please?
I 'collect' cats :rotfl: so the idea is to get my house de-cluttered, then give it a mass 'Spring clean' and then re-decorate and try and stay on top of it. Then, to start getting my garden sorted, hopefully next Spring.
So far I have de-cluttered bags and bags of clothes, to a wonderful charity I support, some smellies, stationa(e?)ry, a few shoes/bags (need a second sift on that) my old mobile phones, and jewellery.
Still seems like a LOT of clutter left behind though! I need a bit more inspiration (kick up the a$£")!

And another question, has anyone applied this thinking to other areas of their lives? Friends, activities, ex boyfriends, etc....?
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
