I was going to try the silver foil test but we don't have any...I think OH will really think I have lost the plot if I ask him to buy some and tell him why:rotfl:
mav your tale of your OH and the jacket really made me laugh:)
I have kondoed some REALLY ripe bananas today and made some muffins. We have also kondoed a HUGE leylandia (is that what the huge fir trees are called?!) from the side of the garden. We have had compaints from the council that local residents have siad they are hanging over the path (they're not that bad) so we decided to get rid. The tree surgeons are coming back tomorrow to take down two silver birches and a laburnum from the back garden...do people not realise these trees will grow when they plant them. There are also three beech trees but they get wait a bit longer. So tomorrow alot of money will be kondoed:(
OH was given a watch by his sister and BIL which he says is not his style but won't get rid until after they have been to visit in August. I have just sent a couple of mugs they have given me to the CS:)
No one has ever complimented me on the colours/clothes I wear...what to read in that. But I was told that i really suited short hair when I had it cut:)saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

I still have that shirehorse in the garage
Now it that a real one or a ceramic one??;)You need to stop using the word declutter as that is banned on here :rotfl:As decluttering is something we have to do again and again and again as we all know. But kondoing is once and once onlyYou change in ways you wouldnt believe. You are a different person once kondoing kicks in. Decluttering you are the same person chasing your tail and never getting anywhere
Note to self..............kondoing not decluttering
On the collections front I would also add pigs, frogs and those vile crystal nick nacks ( sorry if any one is a fan!) I have to fess up to collecting some thing of which I have probably 1000's stamps:rotfl::rotfl: Its something I started as a 6 year old and I slowly built it up over many years. Pretty much stopped when my own kids came along ( they showed no interest whatsoever at the appropriate age:rotfl:) and then I started on FDCs. I have lots of albums but also a large storage box with loose stamps all in smaller boxes waiting to be placed in various albums - its something I will do when I have finished the Kondo journey as they will not be got rid of - actually some are valuable and they are the only named item on our house insurance:rotfl: I started the collection as my parents worked all over the world and the letters I got from them always had beautiful stamps on which I kept, rather than the letters! The collection doesn't take up a lot of room and doesn't need dusting!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Which is as good an example as any of why one doesn't necessarily need to keep the thing, (I.e. The letters) when the stamps give more joy - but you remember why you have them
Had coffe with my bezzie friend earlier, telling her about my progress (as I had the wally trolley with me, having delivered another lot to the chazzzer). I don't mention the word Kondo as she will think I am more nuts than she currently thinks I am. We were discussing why we put no-longer-used things in store rather than just getting rid e.g a radio CD player, CD has broken but the radio still works. It getsput in the shed, cupboard of doom etc, till someone gets fed up years later and finally gets shot of it. Why do we do that?
When I told friend how much had gone, she said "I didn't think your house was particularly cluttered in the first place". It's true that hers probably has more stuff in it - apart from anything she has an additional child to me - but she is more naturally tidy than me, so it didn't show. I think I may have inspired her to start getting rid :T
My bin is full. And not getting emptied till Wednesday  I think I have to stop for a few days.
Unless I can persuade OH into a tip tripI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Igamogam You will have to read back to see the posts on the saga of the Shirehorse my son got for me about 25 years ago:o A china one with one leg longer than the others is all I am going to say on the matter :rotfl:
Yes also Pigs and Frogs to add to the list also forgot plates which I had one on my kitchen wall in the 80sBy the time I moved in 2001 I had amassed about 150  All gifts from family and friends
Thank god I never got any from my enemies as the ones from friends were bad enough :rotfl: All of them went to the chazzer in 3 tea chests (remember them) as they were far to heavy to go in boxes !
Yes the word de-clutter is not used on here as we all know its a waste of time and it all comes back in a very short space of time.:(:(
I think stamps are a good thing to collect (if you must collect anything :rotfl:) As they are small and you can put them away and as you said they dont gather dust:)
Would much rather stamps than a shelf full of Buddhas or a wall full of plates (mostly with cats and kittens on )
Happy kondoing everyone

I don't want to be 'summer':( I have just seen someone on TV wearing pale blue and it looks so drab and boring:rotfl: I will have to have another look at the summer colours as I am sure there are some bright colours (I hope so!)saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

I have just put some washing away and was inspired to remove a top and some linen pants. They are now in the pile to go to CS.
I noticed OHs sock drawer was looking messy. He has thus far refused to kondo his socks and the drawer was stuffed full. I decided to tidy and roll all his socks. 10 pairs with holes have gone. (They were not really holes but a good poke provided enough evidence:p).
During the process I sorted his socks with days of the week on. I am now a little worried as TUESDAY is nowhere to be seen! GreyQueen has Gary got them?
Hopefully, even without his 40 pairs of socks OH should be ok for a while - as long as he keeps his drawers tidy!!De cluttering Konvert.Getting there
