I am still here
4 hours later I have 40 yes 40 fab joyful items in my wardrobe and enjoyed every bl**dy minute
It was great and so helpful I was really surprised
Started with her getting to know about my lifestyle and just what I thought was general chit chat. Colours which she knew straight away as did I reallySpring yes you guessed it Salmon, Cream. But she said but we will throw away the rule book with you
As they are so NOT you
Chat about make up that I never wear but she has given me some really good pointers and direction.
Then on to the wardrobe :rotfl:First thing she said was get out the item that brings you joy.So I got out my Black Dress like Judi's. We went though why I loved it so much.So I told her the quality cut the fabric the way it moved. She made me stand in front of the mirror and really look. She said I looked fantastic in it
And then on to everything I owned as to why I didnt like it or why I did why it didnt suit me. and on and on and on.I will post later as to how many items have gone.
She did say in all the wardrobes she had poked around inMine was the least bland she had ever seen and things that she said should never suit me colour wise Red, Purple ,Yellow did.
So she went down the Wood ( natural fabrics muted greens and blues mainly I think ) Fire Red and Orange purple, Earth - Browns Metal- Silvers grey Black So I am mainly Wood with Fire and Metal thrown in.
I am lucky as I am 5'6" with no hips and a not very defined waist with big boobs and she said excellent shoulders:rotfl:. So I am a bit of a clothes horse. She also said I had problems as I could wear anything I like and get away with it. But I have got my own style and to work with it.
Got to get a few things to fill in gaps but only a couple of Tshirts/tops in Grey /Silver and 2 pairs of decent jeans which I knew anyway.
She is going to E-mail me with all her findings and what colours etc to work with as a base colour. She said most of the time you have to throw away the rule book and go with your hair and eye colour as most of us as we get older dye it :rotfl: And never wear a colour just because you are spring summer etc If it doesnt make you joyful :rotfl:She wrote everything down and goes though it all at the end and will summerise and tell you why she thinks you are making not mistakes but bad purchases
The best thing was she is 1/4 of the way though the bible but has kondoed it somewhere :rotfl: and has had to order it again :rotfl:
But she did say she has NEVER seen drawers so organized and has never seen clothes folded and filed how wonderful it was to see:) and how easy it was to work with and she couldnt wait to get the replacement book.
I feel so happy now as I knew deep down I could style myself :rotfl:But needed a kick up the a*se to see it
Sorry this is so jumbled but I am trying to remember loads and its all coming at once.

Sounds brilliant!
greent I've not tried red days, I've heard of them from my mum but I'd never done SW before this year. I get muddled on SPand I struggle to avoid yoghurts.
I lost 2st following the Duk@n Diet when DD was a baby, and felt great doing it, so I'm following that again this month.
When we get back from hols DD starts school (how???) and although my boss knows this, he hasn't really processed the information into any kind of request for me to work more hours (and I'm keeping quiet about it, currently work 3days). Which means 2 days a week to organise myself diet wise, clutter wise and so on.
Most mums are a bit sad when their youngest starts school, I'm excited:rotfl:Bossymoo

Sounds like you had a fabulous time mav

Ooh Mavvymoo, that sounds brilliant. It sounds as if she takes a sort of MK approach even if she hadn't read the book. I'm envious, can't really afford it but I would love a bit of guidance on my wardrobe.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0

Wow Mavvymoo brilliant!Colours which she knew straight away as did I really
I like you guessed what i was before i was analysed because the colours that would suit me i had in my wardrobe anyway. Mainly the jewel colours... but i did have some surprises like teal, periwinkle, taupe and teal amongst others (that ive forgot).
Though i religiously stuck to black i always made sure i wore the right colours on my face.... though as i am getting greyer and paler i need less.
So glad you had a lovely time.:TThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Another thing....:D
you can wear the odd thing that is not in your season... Take for example as a cool woman, silver is the metal i would wear rather than gold.
I have in my wardrobe a pair of black ankle boots with gold buckles. Obviously i could wear them. I choose not too though because the gold would clash with the silver i am wearing...
Which reminds me... ive got a pair of ankle boots to liberate.
Maybe i am being a bit extreme.:rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
mavvy you sound like you have a had a really good, productive day:j
I tried the white paper test that was mentioned in maddie's link but can't really tell whether my tone is pink or yellow. Will try the clothes test next
iqueen/bossy I too recommend low carb. I have started low carbing nearly 2 years ago and have lost nearly 2 stone although recently I have got a bit 'relaxed' baout it and my weight has crept up a bit. However my skinny jeans still fit so it's not all bad:)saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Hi I have just got back - oh that sounds brill Mav - can't wait for mine next week, but I am going to their shop - I don't think I have 55 items in my wardrobe never mind getting rid of that number!! At least I am not going to be colouring my hair - only a splash of white ones now which makes it just look lighter so will need to remember to ask how to cope as it changes over the next few years.
Bossy - not all plans work for all people. I have been very successful on SW but a friend hasn't so she's trying something else too.
Busy so will go and catch up tomorrow.July 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

Realistically, SW does work, in a physiological sense. I lost nearly 5lb in my first week. But I struggle to keep at it for any length of time. It fuels all sorts of cravings.
Is it naughty that I'm going to keep going to group to get weighed? I've a few weeks left that are paid for - I'll just tell em I've dropped the carbs but still following. I think that someone else weighing me helps
Kondoed DD hula hoop, but bought her a replacement up at town. It does bring her lots of joy though. And me, chuckling at her efforts
Loving the idea of containers making themselves known to us - I've found a nice, wide, shallow basket that might take some folded and filed stuff in DD wardrobe :T she has no drawers currently.
Cold, wet and grey here. Heating is on :eek:Bossymoo
