Yestereve, I stayed offline as I had a real page-turner of a book to finish.
What's the book GQ? I am looking for something to fill the gap between book group books - we take a bit of a break over summer hols.
I had a restless night - kept half waking and thinking about clothes in piles in LR:eek: At about 3 am I suddenly remembered a large laundry basket of clean clothes waiting to be put away languishing in the conservatory and another waiting to be washed:( Not all mine but still more to add:eek:)
I have left OHs on the rail. He can deal with himself. The space behind the clothes has now been revealed - boxes of books and photos. Luggage various kinds.Ski ,camping and climbing gear and a large box of clothes belonging to 2 DDs when they were tiny:eek:.........I knew all that lot was there but in my minds eye not quite the volume:rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

It is People of the Black Sun, by Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W. Micheal Gear.
This couple are archeologists and write fiction based on archeological fact, set in North America in pre-European conquest times. They're very good, but mightn't be everyone's cuppa. This one is in the approx 1400s, events leading up to the foundation of what we know as the Iroquois Confederacy.Wish you hadn't asked now, hey?
Kid Bruv had got this with me in mind, as he knows I have read a lot of their stuff and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was right.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning everyone - joining in the good books thread - J A's the Clifton Chronicles anyone? Have been waiting for this year's book to come up on the library list - I was 260th when I first reserved it. I must say it was devoured in almost one sitting - nothing got done for two days!!! Can't wait for the next in the series next year.
Have removed an enormous sack of shredded and ripped paperwork to the bin this morning - just off to do some more before weigh in.
Happily I have no animal prints, salmon or mango but did stupidly buy a beige stripey T a few weeks ago as it would go with everything. Luckily it was only £2.49 so won't break the bank if it needs to go to ch shop with its labels intact next weekend!!!
Plan for today is more papers, weigh in, more papers and take some items to local auction house so they are out of mine. Think DH is amazed at the progress - it is motivating him to do jobs too - despite the weather.
Have a productive day everyone. xJuly 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

Good idea on the knee length boots Judi
Not sure on the admirers but would be sure of being carted off to the local police station :rotfl:
I am waiting before I kondo everything bar those 7 items until my wardrobe weed tomorrow as who knows maybe the Colour lady will see something worth keeping :rotfl:and that will work with the items I like.
I have been thinking until this MK lark I never thought I had a problem with clothes so this process has been a right eye opener for me. I still have far to much and I have kondoed so much you wouldnt believe it. 7 bin bags have gone and the one I have here is so full I need to start another 1 so this will be my 9th full overflowing bin bag.Where the hell did I put it all before :eek:I really have no idea.:(
The problem is I am still none the wiser as to what I want to wear and ended up wearing gym kit all day yesterday :rotfl:But in my defence I did go to the gym twice but I am happy to wear that type stuff all day.I even went to Mr Ts in it :rotfl:But I am sure its because I dont have to think about it at all. So I want a wardrobe where I dont have to think about it.
When I had done my 1st or 2nd wardrobe kondo this is how I did feel it was easy and I could just grab something out and it looked good. But as its gone on I no longer feel like this and I feel back overwelmed by all the 'stuff'.
Oh well it can only go in one direction as I will never buy anything again which is not joyful and 100% rightSo lesson learned noted and taken on board
I will never buy Salmon,Beige, 3/4 length sleeves, Animal print, cap sleeves (I feel like a body builder in them) Things that are big on the shoulders, Blue wool suits with padded shoulders :rotfl:Jo*les far to twee for me, Skirts which fall at mid calf length.Skirts which are flared and knee length (think what ever happened to Baby Jane:rotfl:)
This is just a start - What will you never buy again ? As I am bound to have forgotten loads and I am going to make a list :rotfl:

Morning all
Hope everyone is well
Yesterday was wonderful, had a house full of family friends and laughter most of yesterday evening. When my friend left she happily took the handbag, stockings, gloves, a who.e carrier bag of crochet cotton, and the pile of patterns (that you kindly sent me Polly) she loved them all. so I'm not fobbing her off with my cast offs.
After everyone had left we watched about half of a comedy DVD while I did a bit of knitting and this morning I've finished a Michael morpurgo book.
May nip round mils and kondo a bit more off the pile into her garden rubbish bin, I've found some more packs of seeds as well to scatter on the back border and she's asked if I will go and sort her wardrobes out for her. Not sure if she's forgotten I did this a couple of months ago or if she's now realised she doesn't need or wear that amount of clothes.
I think it may be company she's requesting as last time I got everything out and put 90% back having never seen her wear most of it.SPC~12 ot 124

Good morning lovelies, well my week off has come and gone and I'm officially exhausted and emotionally drained:eek: What a week!
I was car-less for most of the week, long story I won't bore you with, so the result is I've 22:eek::T:rotfl: bins bags in the garage!
Majority for the CS, some for the tip and one for the parentals who insist on taking my old DVDs.
Only categories I've still to visit are photographs and some paperwork. Paperwork relating to OH's illness and subsequent passing I just can't face and two large bed boxes of photographs I'll need to address but I'm happy to take it slowly.
Will also need to revisit jewellery. Got rid of the 80's plastic beads and baubles - what WAS I thinking, never mind looking:rotfl: - but feel really guilty about getting rid of jewellery OH bought me over the years. Some pieces I'm happily keeping as they are silver and I wear them often, others are gold, jewelled and although sparkle most definitely don't spark joy!!
Obviously all bought in the early days before I had trained him properly:D
Interested to read all the colour chat too. Think I'm going to look into this. Hardly got any clothes left as nothing brings me joy and I'm looking at colours with renewed interest. Made many, many mistakes over the years but happy to report no leopard print haha
Away to have another read back, loads to catch up on!
Take care all x0 -
Here is someone who reduced her wardrobe to 25 things
http://designformankind.com/2015/02/outfits-25-part-1/
Not necessarily for everyone, but interesting none the less
25 items, yet she kept three pairs of boots? Looks pretty good otherwise, but I'd swap one of the boots for some nice flats.
I don't think I ever talked about colours in the previous posts. I'm a cool summer but I always get mistaken for a winter because I have very dark hair. But there's no way I can wear the primary brights of a typical winter, definitely need it to be softer!
Jellybaby - could you reset any of the more meaningful pieces that aren't sparking joy? It's what I plan to do with some inherited pieces, as the stones have meaning to me but the metal does not!0
