    Good morning ladies.

    I love this thread.......

    Jellybaby.

I have just inherited a load of jewellery from my mum. I will never wear it. Ive also got some pieces of my own which are not really me any more. I have made a decision.

I am going to use the stones - mainly diamonds from mums rings which dont fit me and have them made into something else, either a pendant or set into a bangle. The gold chains are a mix of 9 14 and 18ct so not sure whether they can be combined to make one bangle or whether it's best to sell those. Tbh I prefer White gold or platinum anyway. I will take the jewellers advice.

Anyway the plan is to sort it all out, see what can be done, and then use it all as the basis for one or two really good pieces which I,will wear rather than have it all sat there doing nothing.

I also have a lot of her "good" ornaments, China etc which I will never use and or dont like. Apart from a couple of pieces I will keep purely for sentimental reasons . I will sell all this and again buy just one special piece that I will love and cherish in her memory. I shall do this with my late husband's "treasures" too.

Bless them they were both such hoarders and as I need to downsize I just can't keep everything. So my plan is just a couple of pieces of jewellery, a one off original painting and maybe one piece of glassware or a special ornament. I shall commission a local jeweller and local craft people to make special "one offs".

Nearly finished decorating the kitchen and although I have Kondoed it once, I shall go through it again before I put everything back.

The wardrobe will be done again when ive kondoed some weight and gone down a dress size, hopefully by around September.

You've all inspired me - im going have my colours done too....

    Back later ......

I can't wait to hear what the colour lady suggests for you mav.

judi, I used to be in the 'if it's black and fits' brigade but that was before I lost weight. Back then, it didn't matter what I wore I didn't love anything because it was always in several sizes bigger than I was happy with. I started experimenting with colour from the CSs as I dropped through the sizes. Now, the orange jumper I've got on today gives me joy both for its size and its colour.

Being the size I want to be has definitely been a motivation for MK.

Did some paperwork yesterday. Boring stuff that I had no inclination to read before discarding. Must read more today. Where does the time go?

ETA: I like my leopard print heels. Maybe I should only wear them at dead of night or in the privacy of my own home.:o

Jings, never even thought of resetting my jewellery! Thank you for your ideas and comments.

I googled colour analysis and there's a consultancy local to me so I've emailed to book an appointment:eek:

    Just love this thread

I know confidence has got a lot do with why i stick to black. Plus the fact i like to wear bright makeup. Cant have colours clash can we? However, i think that belongs on another thread.

By the way i've kondo'd a pair of flats.... Never again will i buy a pair of flats. I struggle to wear heels now. I bought myself a pair of 2 and a quarter inch heels (black of course) the weekend and i'm pushing myself through the pain barrier wearing them around the house. :D Poor dogs keep getting their leads.:o

Jewellery i have very little due to mine being stolen a few years back. One pair of earrings, one chain for my neck, one wedding ring (recently bought) and a dress ring bought cheaply that i use as my engagement ring. I'm not one for jewellery anyway.

    I think i'm getting cheaper as i get older.:rotfl:

Last night, as I prepared for bed, I squished a clothes' moth on the landing window and got the shock of my life as I reached up to shut the toplight. A massive moth flew at me! _pale_

Heart banging, I realised it was a young bird, that had missed its way home and had settled for roosting on my curtain rail!

Of course, it flew around madly, as I was slamming doors, and it ended up in the boxroom. I couldn't see where it landed.

So, I'm tired, and I'm not about to chase a bl00dy adolescent bluetit around the house.

I opened the bathroom door, removed the towels (in case), and opened the windows in there and on the landing, as wide as possible (despite a brisk breeze rattling through!) :o

Hopefully, the Dawn Chorus would attract the bird through one of the windows! ;)

No sign or sound when I got up, but I've heard of birds dying of fright. So, today I need to dis-embowel the Boxroom of Doom, to check for a possible body! :(

Don't think I'll be pondering over what to keep - most will be going - I really can't be Rsed!

:o I have to confess that I have a Per Una animal print dress - it's pink and plum leopard print style - and I love it! Was given to me by someone having a clearout - I would never have thought to look at it in the shop! I also have a fabulous pair of 6" pink leopard print peep toe stilettos with gold heels that I had as a gift - I hasten to add that I have NOT worn the two together!!!:rotfl: I usually wear the dress with black knee high suede heeled boots or occasionally black peep toe heels. The shoes are great for wearing with a plain LBD - they brighten up a plain outfit! :D

Have been doing DS2 and DS3's bedrooms KM style - have gone through clothes, soft toys, board games and books with both boys in both of their rooms and have been successful at removing items - just the general 'gribble' left to do, as Lego is definitely joyful for both of them :D DD is doing her own room in her own way, but is removing soft toys, books and toys from when she was small (she's 17) DS1 is currently away but I shall try and persuade him to look at some things next week - he is usually up for clearing things out if he can sell them for money to buy new stuff with :D

Re: colours - I'm a warm Spring, from memory. Far too much green and yellow in the palette for my liking - I don't think they suit me in any shade and will not wear them!! However, purples, blues, greys, heathers, plum do - as do turquoise & coral!:D

The wardrobe of 25 things - I didnt like anything apart from the boots :D The jumper I also hated :o Did look at the price and it was reduced you lucky people to $150 from $190  See thats my problem as I would wear none of that at all. Didnt even like the skinny jeans as they looked baggy in the crutch area :rotfl:

So not for me any of it :o

I am sure you are now getting my problem :rotfl:

I always wore Black but have noticed I have moved away from it now. Do think again it maybe due to being lazy as I do find the dog hair  sticks to it making it harder to keep nice.

I have noticed the lack of Black jeans in my hoard and think I need to get some.

I am doing the cleaning today so the colour lady can get in the house without cobwebs in her hair :D and feet stuck in mud by the door :D

I have all the trash and treasure stuff in the room so she is bound to laugh when I tell her I am fully kondoed apart from clothes ;) So will have to explain that too :( Cant wait to get all that stuff out also have more in the loft. I also have some Winter jumpers etc in the loft. which I will get out later ready for the morning as she is here I might as well make the most of her :rotfl:

Judi I love my gym/running stuff :rotfl:But then I love the gym and running so can understand others never being seen dead in it ;) I have loads of leggings but running/gym ones but not one pair for everyday :o

I think its cuppa char time :D now ;) Still got loads of cleaning to do and will get back to it ;)

I can just picture you 2 out on the town... maman, teetering on leopard print heels, and mav, in her leather jacket, tights and knee-highs (with the whip she picked up for 50p in a chazzer)! You'll either get arrested, or end a few pounds richer! :rotfl:

Are you ready for a short 'woo' story?

A few weekends ago I was at my parents' place in a provincial capital with a good shopping centre. Kids and dh were otherwise occupied and I had the afternoon to myself, so I went clothes shopping. Normally that's a chore, but this time, I was looking forward to it.

As I walked past the first few shops, I was thinking about the items on my list, when I suddenly retraced my steps; wasn't that a C&A's? And don't they sell shoes there? I have never bought shoes there, and it was definitely not my plan to look for shoes there, but decided it was worth a try.

They only had 2 small racks of shoes, and they were all on sale. It was very calm in the store, so I tried most of them on, at my ease AND BOUGHT 3 PAIRS! for 35 euros (25 GBP) in total, real leather, and I've been wearing them almost every day since.

When I left the shop, I 'sensed' that this was my shopping done for the day; the rest of the city would not have any joyful items for me, so I went home and enjoyed the rest of my afternoon off with a cuppa and a book in the garden.

  • Hi

I'm completely new to this and blown away with how easy the decuttering and organising methods are!

Already sorted my 'smalls' drawers and my teenage daughter (who was watching curiously) has made a huge purge in her bursting wardrobes. I'm delighted!!

I'm going to start the shoes and boots hoard today... Any advice on stacking/boxing/racking?
    On a mission!
