Welcome Erin, don't buy any new storage until you've cone through your kondoing journey, things will either appear to you on route or you can decide once you have finished exactly what you need. I've got a couple of shoe shelves at he bottom of my wardrobe that I store my shoes in, some are still in their original boxes.

I've had a rather lazy but very enjoyable morning while waiting for ds2 to return from a sleepover so have read three children's books by Michael morpurgo. I've really enjoyed them all, but they would have just sat unread if I hadn't been moving books round at the weekend and rediscovered them.

Going to do some gardening For mil now.

I believe MK herself prefers shoeboxes. I like fruit/veg containers for the smaller things.

  • Crumbs iQueen I hope it was gone by this morning! That made my heart thump just reading about it.

I don't think I have a 'style' as such. I did notice when Kondoing the wardrobe that the stuff I loved and kept is very often from Monsoon or East (not all bought at full price, I hasten to add). Maybe that's a clue for me when looking in CS and online.

Shoes are my worst thing, I can't wear heels and I have wide feet and wear orthotic insoles. I have some lovely German brands which are comfy but it's really hard to find wearable shoes that look good with a skirt. I'm happiest in trainers, winter or summer. I think I need to reKondo the shoe collection, in answer to your question, I just have mine in a wide drawer in the bottom of the wardrobe and a few flat sandals/flipflops in one of those hanging pocket things.

Hi everyone, I have really been enjoying the posts about, colour, style, animal print et al:D

From the 25 things blog, I loved everything except the torn jeans, never would have been my look and certainly not nowadays, I love boots and shoes, but like PollyWollyDoodle I have problems so I am restricted to lace up ankle boots (red, teal and black), ballet flats for being more dresses up, have lots of pairs of lovely Riva ones, trainers, walking boots for sightseeing etc, nothing with a heel higher than 1" sadly. I have found that my Birkenstocks are ok for a few hours worth of wear which helps with the summer clothes, but have resigned myself to looking good as far as my ankles:rotfl:

I think I am a bit of a chameleon stylewise, I like the french/american look of good jeans and lovely sweaters/t shirts with scarves or jewellery, I like a bit of boho and I adore the things that come under the category of lagenlook (the slightly less frilly aspect of it), sadly lots of the things/brands that I like are horribly expensive. I never wear shirts, except as jackets as having small back and big front they either gape like crazy, or hang off me:(

Most of my shoes are stored in their boxes or Lakeland storage ones (making sure they are always clean and dry first), old socks are saved for rolling/folding and used to stuff into the toes of boots of shoes so that they do not get creases across the toes, which makes them more likely to split. Current seasons are somehow fitted into bedroom storage and out of season ones in the eaves space, fortunately OH rather likes shoes too and doesn't often moan at me:D

iqueen - what a shock I hope that you are recovered and that the bird has safely returned to it's family.

    Good afternoon all,

Interesting to see how everyone here is thinking about their own colour choices and their never-again list...

I have thought and read and tried to be guided by feeling, not logic...and have returned 5 purchases (from last week - think I was having a my-wardrobe's-nearly-empty panic) to the shops this morning, so un-shopping in moneysaving style! Also found myself lying in bed half awake this morning, thinking that I needed to get up and remove a pair of trousers from my drawer which had survived cut#1 purely on the basis of familiarity. It's strange to realise you are going through your choices in your mind, even when you had no conscious intention to do so...the trousers are now in the charity bag, needless to say! I love the idea that for my clothes choices, only the right thing is good enough - no more "This will do," choices. The difficulty is pinning down what is the right thing, so I'm wondering about trying a personal shopper as has been suggested here lately. Anyone got experience of this service?

    MsB

Great laughs this morning - thanks everyone! :D

I can just picture you 2 out on the town... maman, teetering on leopard print heels, and mav, in her leather jacket, tights and knee-highs (with the whip she picked up for 50p in a chazzer)! You'll either get arrested, or end a few pounds richer! :rotfl:

iTwin You know me too well ;)

Hope the bird found his or her way home and is not lurking somewhere :)

Oh my god I have just purchased 2 x pairs of leggings  As I havent got one pair :) But did go the whole hog (as normal) and got Spanx :eek::eek: 1 x Black and 1 x Dark Grey so hoping they are really nice make me look like a broomstick with no lumps and bumps :D If they dont they are going straight back. No deadwood staying in this house ;)

Thought can I be trusted to buy these on my own :o Then thought lets rebel and just go for it anyway :rotfl:
At least I can wear them with all the stuff I like and keep my dignity :D

I am loving the fun on here today so funny. All the cleaning done so I am ready for the grilling tomorrow.

msb Your question on a personal shopper I can let you know Friday as I am having one. So she can pick all the stuff I need as I cant be trusted :rotfl:

have just had a trip to the local charity shops and not found anything to suit my new look...although I'm not sure that I know exactly what that look is:rotfl:

iqueen hope the bird was gone this morning, not sure I could have gone to sleep!

pollywollydoodle I can't wear heels either and never have been able to - mainly due to being able to balance and walk in them. I too wear trainers winter and summer. I am looking to buy some Dr Martens (or type) or biker boots

maddiemay I liked everything apart from the torn jeans in the 25 things blog. I have never seen the point of torn jeans and think they look horrible. I love the sound of your red and teal boots:)

mavvymoo I am so excited to see how you get on tomorrow and also with the personal shopper

I only wear leggings with long tops as although my legs and bum look OK they are a bit too tight in certain other areas (won't go into detail:o) and my OH comments everytime I wear them

Men... i dont think they get it do they?

I pulled this dress out of the wardrobe. Ive never worn it. I love it, its knitted and so very soft but i felt it lacked something.

I take a good hard look at it again and decide it needs a fairly wide belt.

Now we all need someone to talk to at times so whilst hubby was on the phone a few minutes ago i sent him this picture.

    jtqnuq.jpg

Me: "I think this dress needs a silver coloured belt to accentuate my waist".

Him: "You havent got a waist".

    Why do i bother.:(
