    Many congratulations Weesmiler xx

Debsnewbudget - I wish I'd had MK when clearing my Mum's house - I've still got boxes of her things in my loft as I couldn't deal with all of it at the time - too emotional. That was 14 years ago!!! Time for it to be sorted, thanked and let go. Hugs for you.

@debsnewbudget....I left all my crap at my parents when we bought our first house....20+ years and inherited it all back again :rotfl: along with their stuff and my grandparents stuff!

The attic will be last..there are some books up there of classics which were the proof reading versions, so earlier than 1st edition...hope they are still in OK condition, but books are one thing I have a problem throwing out/donating.

I have many things which spark joy, I am struggling to pair them with other items to create an outfit - a bit of a lesson in how not to shop there I think!

    QUOTE]

This is a problem I have. I don't have a huge amount of clothes and I like to hang them in outfits which bring joy when I wear them. But, I do have one or two items that don't have a partner(ie a top or a bottom) that goes so even though I love them do I keep them until something turns up to go with them or get rid?

I have spent all day helping my DD empty my late ex's bungalow. I will just say this...I wish he had read the book and followed Flylady!!!

Very odd seeing all my old stuff that I gave him from the family home 30 odd years ago. And no I wasn't tempted.:rotfl:

  • Congratulation weesmiler. Sorry to hear about your mum Debs.

I finished my upstairs books today. A box full went to the local CS and another box full was listed on on Amazon - I have had 3 orders already so tomorrow I need to get them wrapped and posted off.

I used to order the upstairs books by having my favourite ones on the shelf nearest me. It felt quite weird today spreading the ones I have kept over the 3 shelves (I wanted to have some books on all 3 shelves and leave space at the end of the shelf for something else that would spark joy, say a vase of flowers or something) as the only books left are my favourite ones.

Now I know that the advice is to stick to one category BUT I have decided to continue working in the 'office' as it is a total mess before moving to my downstairs books. So tomorrow I will KM the paperwork and my craft stash (already pretty much done this evening).

I have a similar problem too. I purchased a beautiful pair of sandals from Am@zon - they didn't go with the outfit I'd intended but really spark joy. I am now on the look out for something to go with them :rotfl: .....but I am enjoying looking for something in the CSs and, if I don't find something there, will move onto the stores when I figure out what I need :)

Me too :( I am going to re-visit clothes as I said before but havent got round to it yet:D I still have too much and some with no partners to go with :( I think its that I wear jeans nearly all the time and I have loads to go with them but in the summer you want to wear something summery and NOT the dreaded jeans again :rotfl:and thats where I struggle (I think) Did try on 2 pairs of linen trousers yesterday both a bit big and I felt a bit lost in them so off they go to a chazzer for someone with a more child bearing hips than me :rotfl:

I am going to make a list of things that I am missing and also what colours and stick it in my bag so when I am on my chazzer shop rounds will look at my list :)Well thats the plan anyway.

Does anyone else have the same problem as me and just always pick out the same clothes over and over again. Its like you are drawn to the same old stuff (which does bring you joy) I have a Black TShirt which the minute its dry and off the line its back on me,and its almost like oh how did that get back on me :rotfl:Then I am cross with myself as I think cant you find anything else to bl**dy wear :rotfl: But I would love the same one in loads of colours then I could have a wardrobe of about 6 Tshirts only and be very joyful about it ;)

In fact going outside now to check my T which is on the bl**dy line again  and see what make it is and check out E*ay :rotfl:

For those of you now trying to pair clothes with what's left after Kondoing there's a couple of adages to use. Love it madly, need it badly or forget it and If it won't go with three things in your wardrobe leave it! Not always possible I know but it does help ;)

I had niggling clothes issues in my head as i went to sleep last night - in fact i nearly got up again to sort it.

A dressy dress i bought by mistake. As in, I thought it was "me" - it isn't, but i didn't take it back in time. I was going to ebaaaaay it, but haven't - nag, nag nag it was going. I have bitten the bullet and put it in the next chazzer pile (leaving tomorrow). A lovely, joy sparking, dress that i bought and wore to brother's wedding 12 years ago. Brother has been separated for 11 years :p - I was early 40's then, I don't think it is an early 50's dress. It's gone, along with it's matching shoes. A pair of shoes i bought when i was bridesmaid for my sister (at age 39 - the oldest in the business :rotfl:, I am not going to be "matron" of anything;)) - anyway they are going. A dress i bought because it was kind of similar to a dress I luurrrve. But it's only kind of similar and I don't love it - a lesson there - thanked and sent.

Did gloves and scarves yesterday - nearly all have gone, one pair of leather gloves, one hat (though i am still unsure of it, but i do love how warm it is) kept, many hats, gloves and scarves gone. This frees up one drawer and one basket - meaning I now have somewhere to put handbag, keys, reciepts when I get in as "our leader" suggests.

Does anyone know if there is any means of recycling / disposing of VHS tapes? I think it has been discussed before but can't remember. I have loads, the chazzer doesn't want them.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
