Susan - I've just had a battle with the RAC over their rolling DD's. We took our caravan abroad last year & paid extra for cover. This year they decided that we still needed the same level of cover. To make matters worse they had debited my old CC that I'd stopped using & incurred me late payment fees. Go back to them & state you do NOT want an automatic payment. You can cancel your subscription and get the money refunded but you have to be very persistent. We've been with them a long time but I'm disillusioned with their billing attitude.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Theres still more to get shot of but i'll have to work on hubby to get him to agree.

My neighbour 4 doors up has kindly offered to let me chuck 2 interior doors in her skip as she is clearing her Fathers home out.

My neighbour 2 doors up has had our greenhouse.

Thank you for that. It's one of those many irritating tasks that I've put off but you've reminded me that it needs to be done. Apart from anything else, the price has almost doubled over the years and it's horrendously expensive!

Hi. I have started the dreaded paperwork!!
So far I have shredded 3 years worth of 2 credit card statements, and old catalogue statements (I haven't ordered anything for at least 3 years!). The new shredder is bearing up well!
I am finding paperwork difficult as I have nowhere to just spread it out & leave it so that I can just work through it. It wastes so much time time putting it away and getting it out again :( I have a desk in the summerhouse, but I can't get to it! DH has filled it with decorating stuff & tools! Having said that, it is too hot in there in the afternoons as it is in the full sun.
I am just taking a break from the shredding to read back on the thread - I am only about 60 pages behind! I know I don't have to, but it love reading how everyone is doing, and getting tips from people.
    Ok - back to it!

Well I Kondoed the cellar yesterday, nice and cool down there. Everything ship shape.

At the top of the cellar steps there are three shelves, they now have my regularly used cleaning materials, and kitchen overspill, such as food processor and other gadgets. Much easier to get at now than scrabbling away in kitchen cupboards, They are now being used to,store stuff you take out once and then use.

Ive put all the paint and decorating stuff neatly together in readiness to start decorating when it cools down a bit.

Just the photos - I might make a start tonight.

Still got a bit more to do at my parents cottage but ive got a few weeks yet before legal completion. Ive done most of it, just got to arrange for the charity shop to remove the large items of furniture. All the small stuff has been sorted and boxed up ready to go.

GQ I had to smile about your dad procrastinating. My dad has been a shocker. We still have to tackle his sheds. :eek

Not a lot of Kondoing but any step forward is better than none. Three tumblers put out - one to CS and two, which were ruined by the dishwasher, to the recycling ...

Two pairs of undies into the bin and two items of clothing into the ragbag. Plan to get a lot more done tomorrow as need to see some progress after a slow week.

Loving the new to me clothes and have worn a few items this week. Have bagged up the ones not suitable for me and will send them on their way next week.

    Good morning :D
I am still catching up on the thread and have reached the discussion about people buying gifts with certain things on because they know you like them (chickens and cats were specifically mentioned). This is quite timely as today is my birthday! I don't really like my birthday - not because I hate getting older (not keen, but it doesn't bother me IYKWIM). It has dawned on me that I don't like getting presents! I appreciate the gesture, but I am often a little disappointed. That sounds really harsh, but I know you will all understand! I may have a particular item in mind, for example, I asked (we do lists in my family - supposed to make it easier, but find I am asking for 'stuff' because I am being hassled for a list!) for a lilac bush for the garden - you know, good old-fashioned sweet smelling lilac, like we had in my childhood garden. My MIL managed to find different type of lilac! I now have that in my front garden, and it irritates me every time I see it!! I sound really ungrateful here, but in am being honest, as I can't be in RL :(
I have been telling everyone for the last couple of months that I am trying to get rid of 'stuff', etc, so it will be interesting to see what today brings!
In the mean time, I am relaxing in bed and catching up with this thread :) Have a good day everyone!

Happy birthday! I completely understand what you mean about feeling disappointed in presents, I too feel as if I'm being ungrateful sometimes, but it's not the present itself, it's the fact that my nearest and dearest don't really seem to know me!

I think sometimes when we're buying presents for others we fall into the trap of 'bigger/different/more expensive = better' just because we want to show our love for (or impress) the recipient. I know I've done that in the past. Now when I receive something I try and focus on the gesture rather than the gift. I will admit to opening things sometimes and thinking immediately 'that's destined for the charity shop!'

I hope you have a lovely day and not too much Stuff!
