PWD …
Kottering is for those of us who have not the FullBlown Mojo - I'm inspired by yours!
Absolutely what I have been doing for years - hiding the problem until the cupboards explode, having it out and not sorting properly but having it yell at me, and then hiding it again ….
Been out all day so no progress but a spot of kottering may happen this evening.Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0 -
Have passed the book onto a friend, who is now equally converted!
Am going to John Lewis tomorrow to buy drawer inning paper. What is happening to me????:rotfl:"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Thanks for the inspiration TeaLady! I've had the same problem with my OH and books and I was the bookworm, not him!! I asked him to help me go through the books in the spare room. Handed each one to him for his "opinion" on either mine or his. I'd already decided to CS most of mine in there anyway. He was a brave little soldier and enthusiastically told me to get rid of all mine LOL. To be fair, he did get rid of about 1/3 of his that day. Obviously I need to sneak him a few at a time from elsewhere and once he's handled them, maybe he'll be able to let them go.Looking ahead0

Managed to kondo quite a bit - added a dress that I only wore once that didn't fit right but kept cos I was going to alter it (about 10 years ago!) And two pairs of good leather 'dress' shoes both only worn a couple of times Had a quick look through my tops & anything not bringing me joy was added to the pile. Also kondo'd the glass bin and a load of fabric and some linens - all gone to various CS. I now have an empty underbed drawer and a big plastic storage box! I'm sure they will come in useful for something else! I know I'm not going by the book but I am moving stuff out and really thinking about what I have and what I need and what brings me joy.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Like the 'kottering' idea I think I do a lot of that! Also the kondoing of one item before work and one after........may well employ that technique:)
I have a weakness for small plastic pots ..the type for food with clipped or rubber sealed lids. I find them very useful for lunch boxes or bits for freezer. I have quite few - all shapes and makes and I always seem to buy a couple when they are on offer or in a sale. Today whilst standing at check out at Emm and Ess I was delighted to see a pile of little round plastic pots with rubber sealed lids - very useful I thought and only 50p each - bargain. I picked one up turned it round in my hands a few times and PUT IT BACK smiling to myself :j

I am making very slow progress due to a lack of time but I do seem to have had a change in mindset. I wore a dress to work yesterday that I bought in the January sales, quite a pretty colour, nice fabric - but it just looks wrong on me and I feel frumpy in it. It has gone straight in the cs bag, previously it would have sat in the wardrobe for about another year!
Thanks for keeping me inspired.0 -

you don't need special paper. Old wrapping paper, old wallpaper (or a cheap roll in the sales) or brown paper is find.0 -
True, though maybe catshark has eyes on some particularly joyful JL paper …. and anything which brings joy is Good.:rotfl:Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0

Not a lot of Kondoing today as work has been hectic but in the spirit of any step forward is better than none - I've binned one of those little pegged lingerie/sock driers (the kind that clips over the line to let you dry 10 or 12 small items.) Anyway it had lost two of it's pegs and has been repaired twice. Today I got a replacement and threw the old one out. Not a big step forward but forward all the same ...Looking ahead0

Surely you mean Konverted?!
My underwear drawers and my make up drawer and it's matching pair (with hairdryer, straighteners, hairbrushes etc in) all have drawer liners which I requested for Xmas a couple of years ago - they're a lovely dusky purple-y colour with twirly designs on and sooooo much lovelier than the (practical, but non joyous) wallpaper offcuts I had in the drawers before)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200
